Brigitta, knew she was one of the Embraced, but she never imagined she was actually the lost princess of the kingdom of Tourin. When she found out, she was being taken by ship to meet her brother, the king. However, she didn’t plan on being kidnapped by the famed pirate Rupert. Rupert is also an Embraced, a powerful sorcerer who can control the winds. He kidnapped Brigitta to finally get his long-awaited revenge. He just didn’t count on his attraction to her. This is the second book in the new Embraced series by this author. I loved that we were able to see the characters from the first book as well as the other Embraced that I assume will have their own books. I loved Brigitta’s bravery. Everything she tries to do to help Rupert and avoid a war, especially in a world she doesn’t know and has very little control. My heart cried for Rupert. He had been through so much that you wanted him to succeed in his revenge. I did like the new side characters and liked learning some of the stories of the sisters. However, while I liked Sister Fallyn in the beginning and found her amusing, towards the end, her paranoia started getting on my nerves. Other than that, everything was well written and I really liked the introduction to another kingdom. I highly recommend to anyone that likes this genre.

A very nice blend of romance, likeable characters, danger with a dash of magic. Normally I am not a big fan of fantasy, however when written with Kerrelynn Sparks' talent it is a joy to read. We were introduced to the five adopted sisters in the first novel in this series. All were born while their world's two moons eclipse. Children born during this time are embraced, in other words, they are given gifts/powers. These five were sheltered on the Isle of the Moon for their protection. The time has come for them to one by one meet their intended mates. This is Brigitta and Rupert's story and what a story. It is fast paced, holding the reader's attention from beginning to end. I already have the next in the series loaded, can't wait to read it. Love these characters and this storyline.

This is the second book in The Embraced series and it does not disappoint. The story revolves around Brigitta who's gift is finding lost things, whether it be items or memories. While on her way to visit her convent sister Luciana, she is kidnapped by the infamous pirate Rupert. Rupert is on a path of revenge for his murdered family and Brigitta is a means to an end. Neither Rupert nor Brigitta expected to have sparks fly whenever they are together and Brigitta is shocked by the memories she uncovers when Rupert touches her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and loved how the romance between Rupert and Brigitta developed. Sister Fallon is a nice addition to the story. The poor nun is forever terrified that both she and Brigitta will be ravished by the sailors on the pirate ship. There are a lot of twists and turns in this book and the plot flows along nicely. The world has been established in the first book, but more details emerge in this story. I'm anxiously awaiting the 3rd book in the series. Fans of romance and fantasy will definitely enjoy this book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Once again, Kerrelyn Sparks delivers a solid blend of epic fantasy and romance. This is a real treat for readers who enjoy both genres and savor a story that balances the best qualities of each of these components. The characters (both leads and secondary characters) are strong and quirky personalities, and their special powers were specific and unusual. There is plenty of delightfully amusing banter, not just between couples but also in the same-sex buddy groupings, and in characters' musings to themselves. I enjoyed the way the plot combined aspects of numerous tropes common to romance so that I can't just pick a single label to hang on this story.
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley and I offer my opinion in response. In brief, it was a satisfying read and I recommend it to romance readers who like to escape to a mystical alternative world and aren't turned off by the fantasy aspects.

Read for Review/Listened for Fun (NetGalley/Audible)
Overall Rating: 4.75
Character Rating: 5.00
Story Rating: 4.50

Audio Rating: 4.00 (not part of the overall rating)

Quick Thoughts: The best way to describe my experience while reading/listening: Rip Roaring Fun. Brigitta and Rupert were such strong characters but I really fell in love with their spunk. Their banter kept me in stitches. I liked that because it made me think they would have a great solid friendship along with the love that came to them. That is important because I can see a long future ahead of them.

Audio Thoughts: Narrated by: Jill Tanner who brought to life Rupert and Brigitta really well. She really stood out with Brigitta and the pacing. There was some pretty rapid fire banter in this story and Jill really stayed on pace. I had fun listening.

Dragons, shifters, pirates - oh my! If you love magic and medieval stories you will enjoy this series. Five "sisters" were raised in a convent because they were embraced, born on the night when the two moons embrace, and abandoned by their families. Each of them has a special power or magical ability. Luciana, a seer, can predict what the future holds for her sisters by looking at the special stones. Brigitta, a finder through touch, can see your memories and locate hidden items or people. This is Brigitta's story as she discovers her family, their terrible deeds and the identity of the man who will be her husband. It's an incredibly exciting and magical story that can be read on it's own independent from the others. I'm looking forward to more from the sisters and their adventures. I received an early copy from Netgalley and have written this review voluntarily.

I enjoyed this second book in the series even more than the first. Not only because I adore dashing pirates. It was once again a "young" book, there have been some issues but the story and especially the main protagonists really got me this time. I laughed heartily about the nun and her admonishments of "ravishing" (even though yes, the fear is understandable and not funny at all but in this context it was hilarious), I loved the scene with the dragons (and can't wait to read more about them!) and Four, Five and Six caught my heart as Brody already had and again did. So now I am really excited for book three!

Rupert loves looking ar his girl, and hate it when things get in the way, "he blinked sleepily at her, then tugged at her blanket. ”Why are you hiding from me?” Rupert doesn't mind educating Brigitta in the ways of passion, "she glanced back, then quickly looked forward when she caught him rearranging his load. He snorted. She should try living a week with blue balls. And watching the sway of her hips wasn’t helping. “By the way, nice and sweet are not the words a man wants to hear describing his ***k. Just so you’ll know for future reference.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Rupert.

So I Married a Sorcerer (The Embraced, #2) by Kerrelyn Sparks is the second book in the Embraced series. Brigitta is one of the embraced "sisters" and she is taken by the pirate Rupert.... He want to hate her for what her father did to his family...she sees his pain when she touches him....Brody is there to watch out for her as he did Luciana... It was fun to see all the "sisters" again. Kerrelyn kept me on my toes through the whole book.. I laughed and cried and enjoyed the story... Is Gwennore's story next? Will Brody get his own story...I hope so.

I entered the fascinating world where shifters, dragons and Embracers (sorcerers) live. Embracers have a secret power. Embracer, Brigitta is able to find lost things. Embracer, Rupert can harness the wind. Rupert is also a notorious pirate. He captures Brigitta as she is returning to her home where her half- brother wants to marry her off in a rigged competition. On the trip home old secrets are exposed. They team up to try to defeat her half-brother and change the course of their destinies. This was my first adventure with this author. I will return.

I love the way this author thinks and the stories she tells. They are out there and at the same time they are your love stories.

It's drawing time for Brigitta's telling stone future to come to pass and she isn't at all echoed.

This could be a coincidence or for real but she has this gut feeling that whatever it is it will be bad.

When a handsome stranger, a pirate, shows up it's feels like it begins right now.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

So I Married A Sorcerer is everything that a good romance should be: a saucy heroine, a hunky hero, obstacles to love, obstacles overcome, and a vanquished bad guy. It's very formulaic, but even while you spot key formula elements, you just smile to yourself and get cozy so you can wrap yourself in the romance. My only objection is that the prose is sometimes too simple. Otherwise, I enjoyed this.

A rollicking tale of pirates, a bride quest, dragons and the nasty evil dude that escaped in book 1 is back. An enjoyable tale with lots happening keeping you engaged to the very end. Can't wait for book 3.

This series gets better with each book!! I loved Brigitta and Rupert's story! Deception, secrets, a dastardly brother/king, and the ever present fear of 'ravishing' kept me flipping pages as if the wind was blowing them *wink*!

Fun read. I love Kerrelyn Sparks books. Reading this one was a treat. The characters are fantastic. They are believable, enjoyable and make you want to see what happens next. The pace is pretty fast. You really want to see these characters succeed. There are plenty of twists and turns, enough to keep you guessing right up until the end.

You do want to read book 1 first, as that sets the stage for this book. But now we have to wait for the next book to come out, and then the one after that and the one after that, if she continues to go strong (which I totally expect she will). Read this book for a fun, fast paced fantasy/paranormal romance with lots of action and twists and turns. You can't go wrong (but make sure you read book 1 first!).

Another amazing story in this second book in the Embraced Series. Kerrelyn Sparks really knows how to write a very adventurous love story that made it so hard for a reader to put down until the very end. It's fast paced and draws you in from the start.

Action packed adventure filled with handsome pirates, lost prince and princesses, evil kings, conspiracies, shape shifters, dragons, and cool powers. This story has it all. anyone who enjoys a magical world will love all the magical qualities in these stories and the new world she has created.

Anyone will fall in love with Rupert and Brigitta. Individually they were great but together they were absolutely wonderful. Absolutely loved their characters and how their relationship developed.

Overall great series and story!! Absolutely can't wait to read more!
