This loose leaf version of the text is an amazing bargin. However, the publisher did not take into account how you would store the papers - the holes punched in it do NOT fit in a standard 3-ring binder, they are not spaced properly. This happened to every student in my course.

The text provides an informative, easy-to-read introduction to developmental psychology. Some students found the numerous side notes to be a bit distracting while going through their chapters.

Well edited and produced. The chapters are long and packed with really important and useful information. Unlike some textbooks, Berger is not afraid to keep aspects of the discussion in first-person. This is really helpful when dealing with subject matter that lends itself to individual opinion. It is clear that Berger has spent a long time studying, researching and observing, making her commentary relevant and worthwhile. Everything from birth to death is examined in detail, tracking development across all systems, including neurological and psychological, cognitive and emotional. It's an excellent resource when looking to understand humanity and prepare yourself for life with children, whether a teacher or a parent.

got this book for my fall '11 semester.. holes that are punched fix perfectly in my binder.. and i am kind of squeezing it in my 1/2 inch binder.. i do think that since the papers fill up the book nicely than theres less of a chance of ripping because the punched holes dont have much place to slide..

dont listen to that review saying dont get the loose leaf one.. i paid nearly half the price which is GREAT cause i hate spending 100 dollars a book that ill use only once.

I’m a little disappointed. I purchased a new copy of this book because I wanted a new copy. It came in and the corners are bent, from use not from the shipping. All the edges show wear from general use. For the price and the fact that it was listed as new, I’m not happy. Not sure what I’m going to do, I need the book in the next few days.

Good look at the progression of life and the socio-psychological impacts. In fact it should be required reading before parenting a child! This was a textbook for school so I did not choose it freely but I do like it. The format is pretty readable for a textbook. I like the format and the little application notes in the margins help make the material more applicable to me.

Ignore the negative review on this product! This has been awesome for me to use in class and I have had no problems with the book. I got the book used but It was still in very good condition. If your looking to save money on this book, then buy it from here. Loose leaf is the BEST way to go to save some money! I got the book in time and when I had questions for the seller they got back to me right away.
