Carolanne Higgins This book was wonderful, as the Sisterhood Series has always been.
These woman can do anything, and do what they can to solve a crime or help somemone in need. After every book in the series, I feel that I know each woman personally. I would love to have a man like Charles in charge of my kitchen with those great meals.
But, when oh when, is someone going to get married?

I have loved The Sisterhood series but this one was really disappointing. Where is the creative ending that the first books had? The Sisters didn't even seem to be as charged up as they usually are. I think as much as I have loved this series, it is time to end it and give the Sisters their pardon and let them move on.

I am also disappointed when I buy a book and so many of the last pages are just advertisements or excerpts for other books intead of more story.

The sisters are relaxing after their last successful mission when they are abruptly spurred into action.

Harry Wong, the true love of a Yoko, a member of The Sisterhood, is devastated. Everything he has meticulously worked for is gone. The bank foreclosed on his dojo and he is up to his eyeballs in credit card debt. Harry has always paid his bills in advance, so to be the victim of identity theft stuns him.

His friend, Jack Emory, makes a few phone calls and The Sisterhood is soon on the case. But the sisters are temporarily sidetracked with the unseemly and surprising return of their mentor Charles. Myra is beside herself with his return. They love one another, but Myra refuses to let Charles back into her bed until he is truthful about where he has been and why.

As the investigation unravels, an identity theft ring bigger than any of them imagined, the stakes are raised. The Sisterhood will persevere, as women usually do, and pity anyone standing in their way. Justice will prevail.

VANISHING ACT is a fine addition to The Sisterhood novels. Compelling characters, a splash of romance, a spirally and twisting investigation set the scene for this page turner. You don't have to be in your twenties to experience love and romance and Fern Michaels reveals that in spades with her strong heroines. If your looking for sweet justice, VANISHING ACTS delivers!

This one started out dramatic and with a surprise. A good way to start the book. It was good to re-visit all the gang again. BUT. Yes, there is a but in there, it feels a little flat at the same time. Yes, there is action and yes they are up against a couple of really evil, clever thieves. And their setup is a lot more complex and far-reaching than originally thought. The punishment? A little lack luster in my view. Completed and all the loopholes being closed but where is the "Ta Da" moment?

P.S. Charles shows up in this book and the "girls" are still beyond angry with him.. What's gonna happen now? Keep reading.

After successfully completing their last mission without their mentor Charles Martin (see Under the Radar), who remains missing, the Sisterhood decides to celebrate at their getaway on Big Pine Mountain anyway as he would have expected that of them. As Charles comes home to them, his reception is a bit cold until Yoko welcomes him back. However the pre gala amiable bickering comes to an abrupt halt when Jack Emery calls his fiancée Nikki to tell her Yoko's beloved Harry Wong lost everything including his dojo to an identity theft ring.

Outraged, the Sisterhood vows to not just get Harry back his money and his dojo, they plan to steal the identities of the thieves. With help from their journalist pal Maggie and with Charles back in the fold, they begin their vendetta.

Over the top as usual, this is a fun Sisterhood entry with the ladies doing their typical mission impossible escapades. The story line is fast-paced though even fans of the previous thirteen entries will need a scorecard to keep track of the good gals. Still with a terrific surprising coda, fans will relish the latest avenging exploits of the Sisterhood.

Vanishing Act is better than the last two Sisterhood books. Both of those seemed to me like Ms.Michaels wrote down her ideas and had someone else write them. This one is better-not as good as the earlier ones in the series, but better- like she dictated this one herself.
BUT -I actually BOUGHT this book and fully one-fifth of the book is not this book!!
Vanishing Act ends abruptly-I had seen how much book was left and I thought-oh cool she is going to let us in on the celebration with the guys...NOT.
The end of the book is a chapter from the next Sisterhood and a chapter from another book she is pushing.
It is like thinking you have a half hour left in a two and a half hour movie and finding out that the last half hour is coming attractions!!!
My hubby, who LOVES all the Sisterhood books didn't like the story! So we both felt that we were ripped off.
Ms. Michaels evidently has other books to write so why not write a big, final mission, give the girls their pardons and tell how they all live happily ever after-you know-final chapter 10 years later they get together and they all have kids etc.
Like some of the other reviewers-I feel she has lost interest in this series.

Loyal fans of The Sisterhood will enjoy Vanishing Act with the return of Charles and the resumption of his place in the personal and working lives of "his girls." But will they ever forgive him for staying away so long? Read the book and find out.....

I have been reading Fern Michaels for years, I love the Sisterhood Series. I rarely buy a book from a series site unseen, however this is one author that I make an exception for. As soon as the book arrived; I read this book from cover to cover, and loved it. If you are a Fern Michaels fan, this book will not disappoint you. Sit down in a quiet cozy spot, you in for an enjoyable read!

Sisterhood books are numbered wrong. Someone needs to take a look at the fact that the events inVanising Act (numbered 16) happen before the book numbered 15, Deadly Deals. Anyway, who vanished? The sisterhood shows off too much. They don't need to pose for pictures on every mission. Not humble.
