Book II, Dark Triumph: His Fair Assassins

Not usually a fan of period-piece fiction, but my aversion fell to the wayside after readinf the first 2 books in this series. Great characters - fully rendered - and all the action and intrigue you could ask for. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is just wonderful. This story is just as riveting as Grave Mercy, but this is such more. Basically Grave Mercy was mindblowing. Dark Triumph left me speechless.
We have followed Ismae on her adventure through Guérande. And now Sybella's fight angainst her inner demons.
The world of Brittany will never be the same.

This was a good follow up installment in the series. It made for a fast read and I liked and hated who I wanted to like and hate. The ending romance is predictable, but gives you a nice happy type ending for your heroine.

Definitely different from the first book in this trilogy, and it has a darker tone. The tone though is what makes it. You really get to see the depths of the main character, how her past has shaped her decisions, and how her past has honed her into who she needs to be.

Great book. Even better than the first one. Historical fiction with just the right amount of fantasy, political intrigue and romance mixed in. Love this series and can't wait to read the third one.

The second book of the series and is truly another winner. I am so looking forward for the third in this series. I have read all the reviews and Robin LaFevers is a story teller who I would give five stars too.

This book is fantastic! Fast paced, unpredictable, beautifully written. This is a great sequel to Grave Mercy. Before I read the book I was disappointed that it was not a continuation of Ismae's story-but I LOVED this book. Sybella's story is so intertwined with Ismae's, and I loved Sybella's POV. This is a must read!!

This is a continuation of the story begun in Grave Mercy, and is fun, quick read. Well written, with interesting but not super complicated characters, perfect for a vacation read or young adult novel.
