I bought this book in April 2014. This review stays as written. She has written Bloodling and Pack Princess, which are the other books in this group. This is an awesome first book from Ms Easterling. I look forward to her next book. This shifter book gives a different slant from the usual shifter story. Terra's pack is led by her father and he believes in the old ways. One of these ways forces the females to be subservient to all males in the pack. She decides to leave because she does not want to conform.

The author does a good job drawing your interest in the main characters. One of the primary themes is the inner struggle the main character, Terra had with her wolf and human side. The sub plot with that struggle is the idea and importance of a pack sense of belonging.

You are exposed to how two packs are run and the character of each alpha. Of course you will prefer one clan over the other. The romance is sweet and the joy of the story is the interactions between Terra and her future mate.

I really enjoyed this, quick light but still surprising read. It wasn't perfect,if I think too hard about the Father's character I'll find too many coincidences and under explained contradictions. the twists didn't turn out as I thought they would obviously go and while some of the skimming is clearly a ploy to make you read the rest of the series, like I said, I couldn't put it down. I was charmed enough to want to keep turning pages. Thanks for that!

Loved this book. Great books are always too short but it is compact and easy reading. I love shifter books with strong women and to be an alpha female too makes it better. Wolfie is a kind man allowing "shiftless" time to grow. Loved him. Can hardly wait to read the follow up book. Loved the idea too of wolf outcasts.

This is a great start from the "Rampant Trilogy".
An enjoyable light easy shifter,, action filled read from start to finish.
I do however recommend acquiring the complete box set, so it can be read right through.

I voluntarily received an advanced reader copy of this book and was glad I did. Once I started the book, it was hard to put down. There were enough twists and turns to keep me guessing what was going to happen next, and a need to find out how it was going to work out for all involved. Have already gotten next boon in series.

I have to admit, if you love Patricia Briggs like I do, then you will lile this. It moves quite a bit faster, as relationships seem to move at the speed of light and changes happen in the blink of an eye. Despite the lightening fast changes, it is still a very good read.

I've been finding nothing but junk to read lately. Then I come across this book and I've loved it. The twist are awesome. I can't wait to read the next book. Thank you for a great book.

P.s. Some of the wording and sentence structure seems old school or maybe from a British author. Made for a very interesting read. ?

I have read other works by Aimee Easterling and ejoyed them so I gave this one a try - glad I did

Her writing made it easy to learn a lot about the various forms of werewolf and how they interact in society. The main character, Terra, who has to work hard to regain her ability to shift, added to the enjoyment

I look forward to the continuing story,

Runaway teenager faces her past and returns home to fight abusive werewolf alfa father, on the road falling in love with a wildling who seems more in control of his wolf than anybody. Loved the male character, although the focus is not him.

I love shifter books. I love reading about a world that is completely different from our everyday reality. I live that the author didn't include any sex scenes, which is a very rare thing to see. I love how our female lead is able to stand on our own two feet and deal with the hand that life have given her.

Despite a couple of continuity issues and a noticeable and sometimes distracting overuse of conjunctions ("and" and "but" specifically) to begin sentences, I found the story enjoyable, if a little more simplistic than I generally prefer. If the aforementioned issues had been absent and the story developed more, I would've given it 5-stars.

Great emotion and action. The characters are strong and the situations are very much engrossing. Following Terra through the journey to her and her wolf making up and being able to share the mind and body together was riveting. Can't wait to follow on the journey through the series. I would recommend this book to any reader. It is great.

Enjoy! Not a Patricia Briggs (love her books), but another viewpoint and hero/heroine that fight and find the turning between teen and adult. Terra learns to deal with her Wolf, the ones around her and her own Alpha status. This will be enjoyed by young and old adults. Perfect for a cozy read on a quiet day. I'll be buying the rest of the series and others.

Where do I start? The characters are beautifully built and written--I could almost feel the connection between the primaries, Terra and Wolfe. The structure of the two radically different packs was careful drawn and well thought through. Watching Terra grown into her furry self as well as her bi-pedal self, was delightful. What can one say about Wolfe, other than yummmmm. Please stir your stumps mightily and bring us a sequel!!!!

I loved this story of a shiftless wolf shifter. It was well thought out and the romance was exactly as a frightened young woman would react to an overbearing male. This was an excellent story and I can't wait to read the rest.

I just loved everything about this book. Whoever dubbed it "a fantastical werewolf adventure" said it perfectly. The writing flows, the characters are so alive and the storyline is everything I love to find in a novel. Sometimes I read a book and the author has chosen the words so perfectly that I'm not only reading it, I'm actually seeing it all too, like a movie. This book was like that. I could go on and on but I can't wait to start the sequel Pack Princess to write any more!

I loved the characters in this story, strong female (Terra) human/ wolf. She has moved away from her Alpha father and pack. She lives as a human for 10 yrs until she is sniffed out by a different pack alpha. This story takes you on Terra's journey after being discovered. She left her pack because of a forced mating. She has a young alpha circling, her father enters wanting her return to his pack or find her nephew and turn him over. It takes through all this and more.
Story well written, you care about all the characters and want to know what happens next.

Loved this book. Am presently reading The Bloodling Series by the same author.
I totally enjoyed this book. I never talk about the story because I do not want to reveal anything about the story.

I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Will be looking at more books from this author. Really enjoyed this one.
The characters were well fleshed out and very vivid, easy to see. The werewolf world she built rolled out very well. Will be reading the rest of this series and at her others. :)
No lurid or hot sex scenes, more a clean read. Appropriate for teens or adults.

This book was captivating. It is a well constructed, fascinating story. I enjoyed the way that the story unfolded with a rapid flowing timeline and marvelous character development. I can highly recommend this book to others.

Aimee Easterling obviously loves the paranormal romance genre. It shines through "Shiftless" which both respects the "rules" (are there rules?) of werewolves in the world, and yet, gives them a unique new feel. The hero and his pack are fascinatingly different, and I truly couldn't guess where the plot was twisting to.

I always like to root for the underdog (pardon my pun). While reading my free copies of Shiftless and The Complete Bloodling Serial, I got to cheer for not just one ( Wolfie and his Outcasts ) but for two underdogs ( Terra and the Haven Pack). Thank you Ms. Easterling for this fabulous read. I hope you deem me worthy of a free copy of your next book titled Pack Princess. Can't wait to see where you take Wolfie and Terra.

Great story. The beginning was one of those rare books where my interest was instantly engaged. There were a couple of places where I thought the story stuttered and I turned back a page to see how I got where I was. I thought I had zoned out or something when it was the author pushing the story forward. I appreciated the author giving interesting interaction and not a sex-a-thon. I recommend this book & look forward to the next.

Very good writing, read in one sitting. Its a coming of age story Terra kinda being forced into her wolf and how she protects those she loves while coming to terms with her mother and father. I am looking forward to the next book. And I am glad I have found a new author that I like.

I loved this book. Aimee writing is great drawing you into the story. It was a one day read for me. I loved Wolfie et Terra. I can't wait to read more. I want to know more about the pack. How's Keith et who is the girl in trouble at the end ? A definite recommend and worth 5 stars

I loved this one. It was very good. Interesting plot. Not the usual of "they jump into bed barely knowing each other". Characters are well defined. I recommend this book. Thank you Aimee for a great read.

Family secrets all around from wolf born alphas, to problems with the wolves these are not your normal healthy werewolves. I liked that this has lots of different types of werewolves and they all have different issues. Loved the take on werewolves and would recommend you give this world a try.

I love the journey of Terra and Wolfie. The telling of that journey is scary, funny, sad and happy. I will definitely be reading Pack Princess, the next book in the series. Read some of the other reviews, I think you will enjoy the journey.

A very enjoyable YA / NA paranormal shifter story of a young girl from a difficult home life struggles to come to terms with her inner wolf and self. It's a sweet romance and a growing into a strong woman she could be proud to become.

Cute book, well written on the whole, and held my attention. I do think that ebooks in general are actually partial books compared to published books. They get you hooked and then you have to buy the next part. It's not nearly as long as I would expect a novel to be.

Quick little light ready, of course as expected the ending left the reader wanting to know what happens to Shiftless. Over all not the worst I've read nor the best but a good read to get your mind off what's bothering you for me it broke me away from studying for a bit.

things were moving along alright but lacked development. one moment they are casual acquaintances and the next they are mates and lovers? when did that happen? then the plot resolved itself rather quickly and without any action at all. boring. enjoyed the beginning the most.

Downloaded July 8, 2014...To the Author: I normally stay away from week night reading cause if a book is good I can't put it down till I'm done. After reading 85% last night (I would have finished had I not had work today) I raced home tonight to finish. Keep up the Great Writing. I can wait to read your next book!

This is my first experience with urban occult fantasies. From looking around the web it seems to be a very popular genre. It's not Dostoyevski but its fun reading. Shiftless seems pretty metaphorical to me. On a metaphorical level the story deals with the way many people hide their true natures . . . flee from them. The main character is forced to deal with her hidden self and her underlying dominance. I prefer the thoughtful content to the gratuitous murder and bloodshed of a lot of other werewolf literature.

Favorite kind of story: Main characters I would like to hang out with, no explicit sex or violence, moves right along, without an annoying cliff hanger but still leaving you wanting more. Anyone who enjoys the shifters in Patricia Briggs books will love this book too.

Werewolves and exciting common-sense works where the run-away turns out to be the growling image of her overbearing alpha father, but with a twist that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author throws new concepts into the old werewolf world that work! This is a book well worth reading!

Action and twists and turns in the story line all the way through
Wolfie is so believable and I really like him with Terra as she struggles to find herself
Chase is also great, but so are a lot of the other characters in this story

I couldn't put this book down. The main character was believable. The supporting cast of characters were very entertaining and also believable. I had half expected a romance but the adventure was far more than that and lots of fun. I look forward to another book from Aimee. She is definitely on my author watch list.

I am not usually interested in werewolves or other fantastical beings, but this book series is so well written and engaging that I don't find myself thinking twice about the werewolf portions. In fact, I was just sucked into the whole world Aimee Easterling creates. Good read!
