More action packed than before, we finally get to learn more about dragons and the history of the world they live in. Also Julius coming into his own was great to see. I can't wait to see what happens in the third installment!

After reading the first nice dragon book, I acted like a two year old being told I had to wait for the next one. There was also the fear that the next one wouldn't be as good, but I'm thrilled to say that it was even better....what do you mean the third on won't be out until next year? That's ok, take your time, I've grown up a little....

A Worthy sequel that I actually enjoyed more than the original. Julius, the Heartstriker dragon with a heart of gold rather than lusting after it,is trying to make a go of it with his mage business partner Marci. Though Julius would really like for them to be more than just business partners. As they struggle to make the creature removal company a success Julius' nightmare of a Mom,Betheseda, appears to drag Julius back into the middle of dragon politics and intrigue. The characters to more fleshed out this time I think. Of course, my favorite "Bob" is there in all his glory providing the kind of "help" that could get a dragon in a world of trouble. I really believe you need to read the 1st book in this series to appreciate this one.

Wow wow wow.
Rachel Aaron, you are my favorite author. Pros: thw books are written in a manner that is appropriate for almost any age. The only con I can think of is the fact that this is a series and those end.

I am rather committed to reading fantasy. I am glad that I was introduced to this Dragon series. It has likable characters and a story line that is unpredictable. Rachel Aron has introduced some thought provoking situations that have me wondering about the outcome. I would strongly recommend this and "No good Dragon goes Unpunished" and am looking forward to reading the forth installment.

There were 379 reviews already posted for this book before I started to write this review. That would normally be enough that I wouldn’t bother to write my own review...except for one issue. The character of Julius Heartstriker is a cry baby. What do I mean by that? Consider the below passages from the book. Please keep in mind that the page numbers are taken from the the store Kindle app on my iPad. The page numbers might be different on your device.
Page 9
“Wait” he cried, looking down in a panic at his padded work clothes, which still reeked of tank badger. “At least give me a moment to change.”
Page 61
“You’re changing the subject!” he cried. “You didn’t see this coming, did you?”
Page 69
Julius could have hugged her for that. “That’s what I said!” he cried. “Can you please talk some sense into Mother?”
Page 71
Julius gaped at her. “A dragon’s different from a tank badger!” he cried, but it was too late.
Pages 99-100
“With good reason! Julius cried. “You’re talking about Algonquin’s property...”
Page 268
“So you’re just going to let Algonquin have him.” Julius cried. “You’re going to let him die?”
The author uses the word “cried” a lot to describe the speech of Julius. Once I noticed this, it frankly started to grate on my nerves. The author really needs to invest in a good quality thesaurus and start using it. This would have been a relatively minor gripe but it is coupled with page after page of whining interior monologue, page after page of whining dialogue, and far too many pages of nothing happening. Plus, the author sometimes applied “cried” to the speech of other characters.
In summary, this is a book that truly cries out for the touch of a good editor. It could have been a much better book. As it stands, I don’t think I will read the other books in the series.

All of Rachel Aaron's Heartstriker books are fun and engaging. You would need to be a true seer to wrap your head around the fast moving plot twists. The characters are clear and motivated. The myths and legends are far reaching. I love these books.

I downloaded the first book I this series simply because the name was cute and I'm pretty sure it was $1.99. I expected fluff and maybe a passable story. One Good Dragon and its predecessor put me in mind of Patricia Wrede's Enchanted Forest series, lighthearted, intelligent, and fun to read. By no means a deep read it's still one that I couldn't put down and I would recommend.

It's a good continuation of the first book. Editing this time around is much better than in the first book of the series, "Nice Dragons Finish Last". Note that this is a sequel, and therefore it is recommended that you read the series in-order.
