Crystal Keepers (Five Kingdoms)

This is another solid book for Brandon Mull in the Five Kingdom series.

For me, the story started slowly and became a little repetitious:
Move to a location, get found out, barely escape.
Move to another location, get found out, barely escape.
Move to another location, get found out, barely escape.

I can't remember if this happened 3, 4 or 5 times.
In spite of the heroics of the escapes, the plot was getting a bit tedious.

Finally the author pulls away from this pattern, and that's when the story really takes off for me.
The author (finally & what shouldn't be surprisingly) introduces unexpected twists & turns in the story that now elevate it.

By the end of this story, I was frantically looking for the release date of Book #4 in the series.
The author writes, "The first three Five Kingdoms books came out roughly six months apart. The last two will be released one per year."

Arghhh!!! An entire year!

So enjoy this one! It will the last for 2015, and let's look towards 2016 & 2017 for the conclusion of this series!

This is one of the best books ever, the characters are designed well and the ideas are original,
Very well written, an amazing compilation of mystery, action, and magic!
(The only problem is that it ends.)
