Just what my two students needed....well laid out....it is DO-ABLE....A great assistance in their vocab building and writing. Highly recommended for junior high age on up....great for adult literacy classes.

This book presents new vocabulary in an intelligent and sensible manner. Words are presented with meanings, in context, and with a short testing. I am using this book to tutor a student with excellent results.

Frequent errors in the matching definitions. The definitions are actually synonyms most of the time. The words in context paragraphs are dated and insufficient. The pronunciation key is adequate. Some chapters/sections have words that are synonyms of one another.
Merriam-Webster's Vocabulary Builder - completely revised :: A gripping psychological thriller with a twist - The Secret Mother :: Anatomy of a Scandal: A Novel :: Dragonsinger (Harper Hall of Pern) :: Vocabulary Workshop - Level E (Grade 10)

I like challenges - this is one - especially for the younger aged highschooler. It's almost divided into too much work for one week - I had to "rearrange" the study and divide it into two week segments - otherwise my 9th grader got lost and in the end didn't know many of the words. Great for vocab building though and I will keep using it.

This book is very practical in its word selection; all are words that most everyone will eventually run into in modern-day media. This book requires very little time to learn some very practical stuff.

Great book. Very helpful, convinent, and fun. Simple and concise exercises help facilitate learning and memorization. The book is broken down to days and weeks so it becomes very easy to spend 15 min a day without pushing it off.

This book has words that everyone should know to function. The method of learning the words is effective provided the student sticks with it. I have been using it with my students for years, and those who apply themselves have been able to avoid expensive SAT prep classes.

I have purchased this book to improve my english vocabulary. I am really happy with the way, my Vocabulary is progressing. It has week by week words to learn and practice with the help of easy and fun exercises. Once you learn a new word, you must use it in your day today work, else you will forget the new words. I recommend this book to all the students who has average vocabulary and want to appear in GRE other such exams. Very Helpful book.

I really enjoy this workbook. I have a decent vocabulary and love to read, but I just wanted something that was interactive to brush up on some words that I've forgotten since being out of school. I love that it makes you think about what the words mean through context and has a fill-in-the-blank and a matching section for each day. It also reviews the words that you've already covered from previous days. I already know most of the words but there's usually one or two each day that are a bit more challenging to me. Each page only takes a few minutes to complete.
