Once again bestselling author showcases why readers can't get enough of her in the new book Vengeance.

Bringing together her ability to create unforgettable characters, storylines that draw in the reader and the signature writing that has made her loved around the world, Zane introduces us to Caprice Tatum aka Wicket: woman that is living proof that money can't buy you happiness but it sure can help fuel your need for revenge in your search for closure. This story is sure to resonate with male and female readers, reminding us that we never know how our actions will forever affect those we come in contact with----but how in our search for payback we might end up being the biggest loser of all.

That is what makes Vengeance such a powerful book. Zane takes us through the understandable pain of the main character: allowing us to see the world through her eyes but reminding us that in life we have choices. Will Wicket/Caprice be able to allow her success and present lot in life to be her best revenge or will she risk getting closer to the fire, not realizing the danger of the flames from the past----and how they may keep her from enjoying the love right in front of her?

Enticing, alluring and everything you expect from the author who brought us Addicted, Vengeance reminds us that everything---including our happiness and peace of mind---has a price.

Anything Zane writes is amazing. This novel really gives insight into others lives whom may be perceived as different, but there are so many common disorders that Many of us can relate too. You are never alone, even when u believe u are and that's why Zanes characters are so important. You never know what people could be suffering through every day from day to day. But no matter what I always believe that there is a place for us during such a tough journey. I have been waiting for you to write another Novel Zane for so many years so thank you !!! Please don't wake me wait too long for number two :)

The point of the book as explained in the commentary did not come through in the book for me. There were more unanswered questions than thought provoking events. I'm a Zane fan but I can not recommend this book.
Duplicity: A Novel (The Major Brooke Grant Series) :: Debt Collector 2 (A Jack Winchester Thriller) :: A Novel of the Civil War (The Gettysburg Trilogy) :: The Adventures of Augie March (Penguin Modern Classics) :: Mapleshade's Vengeance (Warriors Novella)

Story opens with Ladonna Sterling/Caprice Tatum/Wicket, when she is touched by a man in a club trying in his mind, have a “good time” and his “way” with Ladonna, has a panic attack that brings up the past she has tried to handle but flares up anytime she doesn’t feel safe or in control.

Ladonna has led a very complicated life having suffered extreme abuse at the hand of her mother and another catastrophic event that leaves her scarred emotionally. Since then, in her current situation as a superstar which has brought her fame and fortune, emotionally she has a long way to go. Two people enter her life who bring some peace as much as you can when someone has been abused, but the scars of the past on her soul are embedded forever.

One of these people is Hannah, who helps her to leave Atlanta and stays by her side as her nanny/friend and the other, is Richard Sterling, a billionaire who is her father.

When her father learns she has returned to Atlanta he tells her to call Dr. Marcella Spencer to talk things through because he knows her past and only wants the best for he and is worried about what she might do.

I would be remiss not to talk about the sexy side of the book because you know with Zane MOST likely there is that, and she doesn’t disappoint. KAD also was known as Kagiso, Antonio and Diederik the bodyguards are there to serve and protect 24/7 and that they do. She also has two freaky folks who are at her beck and call, and there is a great twist involving them I didn’t see coming (literally).

When Nikki her “right-hand chick” sets her up with an interview, Jonovan Davis the CEO/Publisher of G-Clef magazine. Soon as she sees him she realizes he is someone from her past that she had looked for over the years and because he was kind to her during the incident in the past, she becomes intrigued as to who the man in front of her had become.

One of the most important things Zane does in this book is discuss the disorder Ladonna suffers from, and it is always her hope that one gets something out of each and every book she writes. I enjoyed this book as much as I did Addicted and I’m sure her fans will as well. I recommend you buy and read this book, and this will also be an excellent book club selection as there is much to discuss.

This story follows popstar Wicket, whose current name LaDonna Sterling is Caprice Tatum. This book is told both in the past and present as the reader to given a front row seat to what motivates LaDonna

After a trauma at age 15, Caprice Tatum ran away from Atlanta to New York City and was adopted by businessman Richard Sterling. Caprice was renamed LaDonna Sterling and was received plastic surgery in order to give her a new lease on life. Her therapist diagnosed her with Intermittent Explosive Disorder, a condition where the sufferer has bouts of intense rage, emotional and perhaps violent tendencies. Richard continues to lavish her with his wealth, to make up for her terrible childhood. Her father’s only condition was that Wicket never returns to Atlanta. A request that Wicket had honored until now. This foray led to the reopening of many wounds that Richard thought were long buried. When LaDonna sees some of those who contributed to her painful past, LaDonna is full of thoughts of Vengeance. She hatches a plot and began exacting the revenge she feels she was denied. These machinations also lead to LaDonna’s undoing.

What I loved about this story is that it wasn’t about sex. It was about a person’s spirit, heart and soul. LaDonna was a very complex character and I am impressed with the author’s thorough laying of foundation. The heroine was not necessarily likeable, but I was rooting for her to overcome her past and forge a stronger future. I don’t know if I loved this story, but I love HOW Zane told this story. I found it compelling, interesting and informative.
I did wish that the author had given us a glimpse into the antagonist’s mind to see whether they had repented or felt any remorse to the events that occurred decades ago with Caprice. It’s clear that the trauma affected the heroine, but how did it affect the perpetrators? This book was definitely about Caprice aka LaDonna aka Wicket’s journey. I was satisfied with her end and there was hope and healing. I highly recommend this book to those who have faced something and need some hope. This book shows that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

This book was full of quotes that I loved but my favorite was AFTER the book. People change so you can learn to let go. things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they are right. You believe lies so you can learn to trust no one but yourself. Sometimes things fall apart so better things can fall together. (Marilyn Monroe).

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

In VENGEANCE by Zane readers are immediately introduced to Wicket, a well-known international pop star, whose real name is Ladonna Sterling, adopted daughter of billionaire Richard Sterling. Thanks to facial reconstruction to conceal a childhood knife scar inflicted by her mentally ill mother, no one recognizes Ladonna as Caprice Tatum, the victim of a vicious gang rape in her senior year of high school in Atlanta. Now, twenty-five years later, she is determined to pay back the perpetrators–and her former best friends who allowed the rape to happen. Sounds good right? Well it is but that is not the whole story.

Wicket is filthy rich, almost 40, and hasn’t been back to Atlanta since she fled following the rape. But the emotional scars still persist: she is unable to allow men to touch her in a sexual manner, and suffers from a form of rage known as Intermittent Explosive Disorder. When her father suggests she see therapist Dr. Marcella Spencer, Caprice reluctantly does so, finally sharing the stories of her past in the hope of picking up her pieces and find an inner strength. Can we say DRAMA boys and girls?

Well well well let me tell you that Zane is back with this explosive page turner. Wicket is very emotionally unstable due to her Intermittent Explosive Disorder and through all of her issues. She is never one to bite her tongue or tell you exactly how she feels. Rightfully so she has every right to be mad and having feelings of rage and wanting revenge but some things should stay in the past. Kudos to Zane for penning such an emotionally accurate story because from start to finish it had me all in my feelings. I also gotta mention the erotica because what is a Zane novel without passionate ignited sex and with her electric story telling skills that will have you eagerly wanting more and turning each page. Reading this book you will often wonder will Wicket/Caprice be able to just be happy with her success and leave the past behind her OR will she live with rage and want revenge to satisfy? Boy oh boy I am telling you that fans of suspense, erotica and drama will without a doubt enjoy Vengeance. #GetCaughtReading this book today!

Picked this CD story up at random from the library. (a book a week) When grabbing stories at random, I find treasure and I find junk. This was horrible. Not only was the story not completed (no details about how or why the best friends betrayed the main character), it had extended obscenity rants that were not productive to the story. There was also times I thought I was listening to a teenage book. The doctor was framed far to simple- easy. And I found most of the sex scenes to simply be filler material, actually boring, except the final scene.
The only redeeming part of this story is that it is written 'just' well enough that I would listen to another one of the authors stories and cross my fingers that the next one is better. However....kind of doubt it.
I personally did enjoy how the story jumped around in years and the author's comments at the end were enlightening.
I see there is a sort of cult following to this author which is interesting. May not mean the other stories are any better, just that there is a following.

'Vengeance' by Zane was an amazing novel that I couldn't stop listening to on Scribd! It explores the story of Caprice Tatum and how childhood trauma along with mental illness affects the lives of several people. What I enjoyed most about 'Vengeance' is the rawness of it all combined with the lessons that the story taught me. I really enjoyed this novel and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a compelling read.

I got this work on Audible because of my strenuous commute and I want to tell you, this work is amazing! I was enthralled from the beginning and it is a book you cannot put down. I was so pleased with the complexity of the characters and the main character was a force! This is a real life drama with something for everyone! This read has a lot of depth and substance and I am grateful to ZANE for her excellent and diverse talent.
I will be getting the print version to go into my collection!

I wasn't really impressed with this book. The main character came across as shallow, petty, and really just an unlikeable character. I get that she had some horrible things done to her - none of which is truly explored besides saying she was raped - but it was rather annoying to find her unwilling to see the hypocrisy in her behavior or even attempt to deal with her past rationally. I don't believe rape victims should "just get over it", but I do believe in this character's case she allowed her experience to define her so much that she overall became a less sympathetic character...

I really wanted to like this book because I loved Addicted and Nervous, but it simply didn't do it for me. Everything about Caprice/Ladonna/Wicket was a tad too much for me and my taste. In my opinion, thirteen years was a long time to wait for another story involving Dr. Spencer. I'm pretty sure diehard fans of Zane will love it though, but this one missed the mark for me.

I really enjoyed this book. I brought the audible book and love it. I will say this is a different Zane but for me that's a good thing. I felt for Caprice. She was really going through it and my girl Dr. Marcella got her right. I think her former friends got exactly what they got for what they did to her. People don't understand how their actions can change a persons life forever. I'm glad that she got with Jonathan, he's the truth. I have been a fan of Zanes since the beginning and will continue to support her. Keep up the good work

Once again Zane has taken sensitive topics (transgenders, generational rape by relatives, the scars of sexual assault, etc) and weaved it into a drama filled novel. Wicket had a ton of damage...a bit too much at times. Not my favorite work by the author, but it was an ok read

This book felt rushed. It had potential to tell a good story but it just ran through everything. I have read all of her other books and this is the worst one. Not saying it was horrible but it definitely was not good. It was just okay and nothing close to her usual writing.
