Engrossing tale, once you get into it. In the beginning there were so many characters introduced, it was confusing. Once the story got going, I was anxious to see how it turned out. The fact that Gingrich has so much knowledge about the way Washington and the world operate makes it even more fascinating.

The overall new Terrorist theory postulated in Duplicity in my view is very possible and would raise terrorism to a new world wide threat level. Must read the book to find out the theory. Waiting for the 2nd book.

Good story, good read. Oversimplified characters; they didn't feel very real. Sort of felt like I was watching a made for TV movie. Still, it was interesting and entertaining, and I do want to find out what happens to them next.

I saw ads for Speaker Gingrich's new book Treason and thought I'd start at the beginning with Duplicity. I had hoped that the intrigue would be rich in real and believable consequences. Just to be up front, I made it to 68% complete in my Kindle before I abandoned the book.

The good: the political and global issues are timely and realistic and the scenery is vivid and it takes us to places many of us haven't visited.

The Bad: First, the politics seem amateurish and moronic. One of the central political maneuvers is a new policy offered by the president in the heat of a campaign debate. Prior to announcing her policy, she discussed it with one advisor. The policy was never vetted and the sitting president got no advice from relevant government officials as to whether it would be a good policy or not. It turned out to be a stupid move on its face and in its execution. The characters are weak and have no depth. The main character, Brooke, is a Marine officer. Her behavior is more like that of a spoiled, thoughtless child. For example, she was ordered to observe and not engage an enemy. This required she wear a disguise. Just as she got to the place where her observations would begin, she reveals her face. Of course, she is discovered. While this would have been an interesting twist if the discovery hadn't been a foregone conclusion, it made me abandon the book. There were many other examples where her Marine training appeared to have no effect on her bearing.

I gave this three stars since I believe that the issues and the global interests are relevant and interesting. The story has major weaknesses.

Great Book, when I first started it , thought I had made a mistake, but after getting into it I couldn't put it down. suspense, intrigue, great story line. He leaves us wanting his next book to continue the saga.

I loved this book. I also ordered Treason by same author and read it first. I didn't know they were about the same characters. Read Duplicity first and then read treason. I will certainly read more by Newt Gingrich. Great read!

It more than met my expectations because of all the political strategies discussed which surprised me. This book was especially interesting because this is a presidential election year and I'm so into following the candidates.
