The story grasps the reader in its web, trapping you in the pages so you can't put it down until you finish. Luckily it's a short story. And there are still so many unanswered questions. I dove right into the "Natchez Burning", previewed with this novella.

Iles writes some good mysteries with tangles, unraveling the tangles with additional tangles. I've followed his writing since I discovered his first book and he has never disappointed this mystery loving, but demanding reader.

This was an excellent way to transition from "The Devil's Punchbowl", to refresh our memories of the different characters and the recent events that Penn has been through, to set us up to begin the L-O-N-G awaited "Natchez Burning"!!

A legal thriller without a trial in court. That happened previously and now the story line revolves around correcting things that were in need of further examination, clarification and proof of truth. A quick read.

This was a very concise background piece, explaining the circumstances surrounding and the passing of Penn Cage's wife, Sarah. It is recommended by someone, me, who has just finished Greg Iles's latest novel "Natchez Burning" but has not read the previous Penn Cage novels (which I am now enjoying). For the kindle price, it is well worth it.

Well, for some reason this ebook was FULL of annoying typos. Practically every page began with parts of the same sentence from the previous page or totally skipped a sentence. Not Greg Iles fault I'm sure but annoying just the same. The book was meant to fill in missing parts in preparation for Natchez Burning and it did that quite well.

Greg isles could make a grocery list a must read. We have been so very patient waiting for a book from him. It is a Novella (that means short) but well worth it. Especially when the main character is Penn Cage.

Very intrigued with his delivery of a story --

Kept my interest without wanting to skip to the
end to see the out turn of events.

Looking forward in reading his full novels (Penn Cage series)

The Death Factory has several interesting characters, but the book abruptly ends and no story is ever told, This was the only Iles I have read that was not worth my time or money. Moral of this story is do not buy a Greg Iles novella.
