Short story installment set in the future of DBDA. Loved every second of it. I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed stepping back into the DBDA Universe even if for only an hour. If you haven't read the other 3 books I highly recommend you do but it's not a requirement for this story to capture you. At 2.99 it's a steal... and a hook. Get it, read it, love it.

nice quick read, and an interesting peek into the kilroy's world years after the fall. the ending reads a bit abrupt with the shift in POV, but a fun little yarn with some good creepy spots.

this feels like something that might end up in an anthology before all is said and done.

For a brief few minutes, the experience of the DBDA world returns. I enjoyed the trip along with the character in this novella. J.L.Bourne has such a readable flow to his writing that allows you to easily become immersed in his world. My only complaint is that it was way too short. I am however, happy to have the story to read considering how busy the author is with school and a young family. Definitely a recommended read most likely to lead to exploring the other books in the series.

This was a very nicely-constructed short story -- I'm not sure if it even qualifies as a novella, but it's very well-crafted, with a nice beginning, middle, and end, and it managed to hit all the right notes along the way.

It felt very comfortable slipping back into the world of "Day by Day Armageddon," and this was a nice little self-contained tale that could almost make for a nice "introduction" to the DbDA "universe" for those not yet familiar with the series (I would still recommend starting with "Day by Day Armageddon," but I don't think this tale would spoil too much if you read it as your "intro" to the series).

The story has a fair amount of gravitas considering how short it is -- I found myself choking-up a bit at Starbucks as I read one particular passage, which shows what a great job J.L. does with creating and developing his characters and making you REALLY care about them.

I really hope this means that there are still more DbDA tales to be told, as this story would suggest that there are still some rich veins to be mined there.

Nice work, J.L. -- thanks for treating us with this little gem!
