Highly recommend to anyone who has ever struggled with addiction. Lisa's descriptions of what alcoholism and early
recovery are like rang so true to me, and I have been sober 7 years. A quick and entertaining read.

Absolutely fantastic- raw with emotion and insane details, yet funny and relatable on so many levels (even for a non-addict). Lisa is a very gifted writer and I think her memoir would make an unbelievable movie.

Amazing! As heartbreaking as it was to read this, Lisa told her story with wit and honesty. I felt like she was in my living room, sitting beside me, personally sharing her life with me. I admire her strength and courage- not just in sharing her story, but in choosing to face her demons, take control and allow herself to discover the amazing woman she had inside her all along.

Lisa Smiths story grabbed me right away. Her journey to recovery and sobriety is a realistic reminder of the power that addiction can have on a person...and the strength, self-awareness, truth and support necessary to make a lasting, positive change. Thank you for sharing your story and congratulations for not picking up.

Nicely done! This book tells the honest story of a young woman struggling with alcohol and addiction. Is well written and goes deep into the life of an addict and her struggles while holding a career as an attorney. Fast pace. I highly recommend!

engaging, funny, sad, made me cry ... a tightly told tale of personal inspection and wrath. And finally, resignation. "The disease is impossible to conquer alone." Or so a few friends have relayed.
I am not an alcoholic but I have friends are and have educated me on 12 steps, the daily battle, and the low percentage of alcoholics who beat their demons.
Still, I think that Lisa's well written account can and will help others recognize the problem and urgency that getting sober and staying so is necessary in order to reclaim the life they deserve. Well done.

I am newly sober approaching 5 months. I have seen this book around and finally decided to read it, for newly sober people it can be tough at first but I'm happy I stuck with it. This book is amazing, and so real and on point with the program. Highly recommended.

Incredibly written with passion, honesty, humor, but mosty with courage. Ms.Smith provides an insight to those who suffer from addiction. She brings you into her life experiences and left me wondering where she went from there. I hope to find out in her next book release! I highly recommend "Girl Walks Out of a Bar".

The presentation of the progressive nature of our disease was powerfully represented as well as the joy and simple contentment found in sobriety. As a high bottom drunk I read these books to realize the yets that are waiting for me if I ever pick up that first "how do you do".

Couldn't put this one down. Compelling and in your face, an insight into the dark side of corporate culture and alcohol/drug addiction. I won't spoil the ending, but all I can say is that Lisa is one tough lady.
