Memoirs of a Goldfish

My son brought this home from the school library (he's 4) and we also have a 1 year old. They both loved this book so much, I had to go out & buy a copy. I have never read a kids book that made me laugh out loud with each page. It is simply adorable, clever, and quite possibly my new favorite kids book. LOVE IT!!

This humorous journal about a goldfish's interactions in his aquarium with various co-resident creatures and objects is a fun read with enjoyable illustrations.

Funny book that my class always falls in love with after I read it to them. The artwork is fun and the writing perfect for a read aloud book. I have to knock one star because the book states that fish don't sleep, but they do.

My son brought this book home from school today. We sat down and read it and it was so good I decided to go online and buy it. Just so we could have it at home. I really enjoyed reading this book to my boys and they loved it being read to them.

Everyone in the family loved this book! Even my husband! We laughed out loud by the second page and it only got better from there. An excellent story with a great message, beautifully illustrated and just plain fun to read.

I purchased this book for a project in my Children's Literature class, and out of the five books I got for this project, Memoirs of a Goldfish is the only book I want to use in my classroom when I become a teacher. The story is sweet and the writing is incredibly witty for children and adults alike. I had my coworkers at the YMCA childcare area read it to the kids that were there and it was an instant hit. We're working on getting a copy for there because I refuse to part with my copy.

A fellow teacher passed this along to me. After sharing the story with second graders, several began creating their own versions, with other animals. They quickly applied the format and worked intently. Soon even the most reluctant writers were diving in! Great mentor text for young writers. A worthwhile addition to your shared reading library. This book will make you laugh out loud. Very simple and cute story line. Kids (and adults) will enjoy this easy read. My three girls (ages 4-7-10) all enjoyed the story and the pictures are well done and entertaining. Great book...you won't regret this buy.
