I was on vacation and really just wanted a decently done piece of chick lit. The book delivered-yes you could probably guess where the story was going but Schurig kept it entertaining. Liked it so much I got the other two books in the "Love Story" trilogy.

It was interesting but kind of slow and confusing. I think you could have had a few less characters. The Greg person was really awkward, with them meeting because she was going to get hit by a car, pretty unlikely.

In Search of a Love Story documents the self doubt of every dating-age woman whose relationship has ended. Trying to follow everyone's advice while trying to figure out what you want yourself is confusing for everyone.

I read one of Rachel Schrig’s books, Three Girls and a Baby last year and I enjoyed it so when I saw this In Search for a Love Story on Free Book Hub I knew that I had to read it. Unfortunately I did not enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the other book.

It was not a bad book, and actually, on some level I actually enjoyed it a lot but the reason I can only muster up a three star rating is because from the very beginning I knew what the story arc was going to look like…and well, the book played out exactly how I predicted it would. So although it was a fun and cute book to read…it didn’t exactly contain any surprises.

Rachel Schurig is on tour with CLP Blog Tours and In Search of a Love Story. Emily Donovan would never be called a romantic, but with a string of romances that went south, her friends try to convince her to take a new approach to love. Mainly - get into romance. For Emily - a girl who doesn't like rom coms or romance books - this is quite the challenge. But when she meets Greg and their relationship progresses, she wonders if perhaps her friends were on to something. But does Greg love Emily for who she really is - and does Emily really love him back?

I had a great time reading this chick lit book that was full of laughs, romance, and written with a lot of heart. Emily is such a likeable heroine and I was intrigued by her relationship with Greg. I can understand her confusion she had regarding him, and I was hooked into reading wondering how it was going to end. Her friends make up a fun supporting cast, and I'm really looking forward to reading the sequel!

What a great story. I loved the journey through Emily friends trying to help her find a good man. Their listless project on Emily was scared and hilarious all at the same time. I’m sure everyone has a story salons the same lines, yet not this drastic. Friends are great and yet fate always steps in and makes things right!

Rachel Schurig's new series "Love Story" doesn't fail to deliver with her first book In Search of a Love Story. When the loveable tom-boy Emily Donovan gets her heart broken again her well meaning friends Ryan and Ashley decide its time they teach her the finer points of love. But her lifelong friends Brooke and Chris have doubts that reading Jane Austen and watching chick flicks can really help. Will Prince Charming Chris sweep her off her feet just like the movies for a happily ever after finish or will Emily realise to find true love you need to be true to yourself?

You will fall in love with Emily and her friends and wish you were joining them for a beer and a laugh. I've already downloaded book 2 )]]An Unexpected Love Story (Love Story Book Two) & 3 [[ASIN:B00AX7VK72 An (Almost) Perfect Love Story (Love Story Book Three and look forward to continuing the adventure.

I'll explain myself. I think that the writer is good. She can write a likable story which can touch romantic people, but I think that in the end this book is a failure. Why? Many reasons.
First the theme isn't really what we promised. The whole books and films premise doesn't get anywhere. It's just an idea which never had any impcat in the story. We just have a reminder some times, but nothing really interesting.
Then the heroine is rather boring and immature for me, she doesn't know what she wants, and she doesn't know how to find out what she wants, it's a little annoying.
But what annoyed me the most is that we spend time with her friends without any development of their characters, and we have so little time with the man she's supposed being in love in the end. This isn't good for a romance story, in my book. I need more interaction between the two main characters and I didn't find that. So I don't really care even for her love story finally.
And here the weird part. Although the author claims many times how Chris and Ashley were meant to be, I disagree and I have no desire to read the next book. I know it shouldn't be right for Emuily to be with Chris and yet I was hoping for this to happen. And this is the first time it happens to me and I read a 100 books a year and especially romantic stories. This is why this review is strange. I don't dislike Elliot, but I would love to explore the relationship between Emily and Chris since I dislike Ashley, and as an author I would have find a way to make her break with Chris for the right reasons. I will try her other series to see if it's better.

A light romance with engaging characters and a predictable storyline. This one was slow going for the first 2/3rds of the book, and the ending was telegraphed pretty early on. No big roller coaster events. For a lazy summer's day read, this one would be just fine.
I rated it 3 stars because of its pacing issues and predictability.Ot wasn't bad, just not compelling - I like a little more action.

This is a nice little romance. I love the matchmaking friends. The MC seems a bit lost, but at least she finds herself in the end. All the supporting characters are interesting, although Brooke is a little pushy. Has a Jane Austen feel to it.
