Bought this book for my 53 year old boyfriend who seems to be bent on getting back into shape and eating right. So far he tells me that everything he's reading makes sense and is very interesting. He already is exercising more and trying to eat healthier, so like I said in my title, so far, so good!

Its a con.
He raves endlessly about exercise and strict diet regimes, but it is obvious from
the photos that he is also supplementing with some form of
enhancement hormones which he never mentions

I purchased the kindle version. The book has many tables and recipes but these are not legible. Additionally, not much new information is provided over what I have read in the past. The photos in the book are considerably different from the one on the cover. The cover makes the writer look young but the ones in the book make him look like the 60-70 year old man that he is.

Dr. Life and his compelling before and after pictures testify that anyone can change their life for the better with this commitment to getting healthy. His plan makes perfect sense and should be considered by any man who wants to add life to his years and years to his life!

Well written.
Proper nutrition, exercise, and supplements recommended and signs to look out for.
A total life plan like this must be taken seriously and adhere to the plan.
Details inside are priceless.

Dr. Life has achieved a remarkable physique at the age of 72, but buyer beware...he's a physician with access to testosterone and HGH and the other "hormones" that the lay person would not be able to get through his own family practitioner. Unless you're willing to go to the black market for these items, then you're never going to be as toned and trim as Dr. Life. A big sales pitch for Cyrogenics. I'm sorry I wasted the money.

Exercise is great within your limitations, especially if you have degenerative disk or especially vertebrae problems because of loss of bone. In my case MM from exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam.

Now, as to testostorone replacement; if you'r over 55 stay the heck away from it unless you can produce it naturally. As a result of a year of Chemo my testostorone fell to almost zero and my doctor recommended replacement to get me just back to the level of a healthy 55 year old. One year later I was waking every hour to urinate. Once you pass a certain age that hormone starts to slow and it slow for god knows what reason, but it seems to help in NOT enlarging the prostrate. It took a year of taking two drugs, one to stop testostorone flow to that area and another called flowmax that relaxed the muscles in that area making it easier to void. It was the worse year of my life. I am now finally able to urinate ALMOST normally, but at least I'm not waking every hour; talk about exhaustion. As it turns out exercise alone increased my levels although mildly and I regained much of the muscle mass I lost when I stopped taking the injections. By the way I'm a trained army medic from Viet Nam and my doctor allowed me to administor my own shots once a week. Near the end, I dreaded shooting that stuff into my butt.

The book outlines Dr. Life's diet and workout schedules. His workout routines are really lengthy and you'd be in the gym for a long time. His diets a really hard to follow. You don't eat very much , but you eat several times a day with no cheat days, period. I personally think that his hormone injections are what really makes his upper body look so good. I am a firm believer of diet and exercise to stay healthy, but if you want to look like Dr. Life you need the hormone injections. How many 74 year olds look that good by just diet and exercise alone.

Remember this book's recommendations relies on increasing growth hormone due to the pituitary gland's reduced production of growth hormone as we grow older. Be VERY careful. The pituitary is doing just what it should be doing by reducing the growth hormone. I had a pituitary tumor that caused an increase in growth hormone (as this book recommends). The condition is called ACROMEGALY. Google it if you doubt me. Among other problems, the legacy of increased growth hormone has left me with crippling arthritis. I am lucky though, I could have died. Please read about acromegaly ~ a condition with extra growth hormone in the body, and think long and hard before you increase your growth hormone. You are playing with fire! Follow these recommendations at your own risk. You won't suffer the arthritis for years after the increase in growth hormone. Meanwhile, joint replacements, pain, and a wheelchair are not what you looking to achieve. Careful!!!!!!

Excellent information about a subject that fornmost people is taboo. Gents educate yourselves and realize that there are ways to get in shape without harming yourself. I personally stumble on a homeopathic transdermal form of HGH in gel form that is FDA registered. 5 weeks on it and at 54 I feel great. But always educate yourselves

I think every single man on this planet should be following this plan. Well written. Easy to read and understand. It is a full package.Nutrition, exercise, suppliments, hormones, it is the way to health. If you are over 40 and a man get this book. Period. Ignore the negitive reviews, this book is the future of mens health. This will require a life change. But anything worth having doesn't come easy. And health is certainly the most important thing worth having.

After reading books like Seasoned Romance, Book One and Prime Time: Love, health, sex, fitness, friendship, spirit--making the most of all of your life, it seemed absolutely necessary, if I wanted to become a better man and lover, that I had to attack the problems that seem to come with aging. Fitness is such a huge part of what has happened to me. Eating better is another major component. The Life Plan has added another big piece of the puzzle. I'm glad I made the decision to get started. I'm 73 now, so I can tell you that it's never too late. In so many ways, my life is better now than it was six months ago when I started making the right choices. I can't tell you what it does to be able to look in the mirror and see the difference!

I read the book, cover to cover. Its filled with good information on nutrition, diet plan, and exercise plan. You don't have to do everything he recommends. Use it as a start to create your own diet and exercise regime. Well worth the time to read and follow. I highly recommend it.

This book addresses the choice we all face, between living an exceptionally healthy life or resigning ourselves to the "normal" decline of the body and spirit. It's about time that someone brought together all the latest technology and science to develop a cohesive plan for those of us who choose the prior.

Dr. Life explains his philosophy in a way that makes good common sense and the science is easy to follow and understand. In a world where misinformation and marketing jargon can leave you confused about what to do for your health and why, this book brings clarity and direction.

This guy gives us all hope and a clear path to a far richer future. Thanks Dr. Life - Great Book!

I met Dr. Jeff Life and his colleagues slightly more than a year ago. And I was impressed! I was blown away with the opportunities and opening horizons. Believe me, it is very difficult to impress an internist with 25 year experience who was trained by the best and practiced on two different continents, in two different systems, and with two different philosophies. This is the future! This is where I want to be myself and I want all my patience and friends to be as well. Read this book, learn from it, set up your goals, and get there. Thank you Dr. Life for setting the bar so high!

Jeff not only "talks the talk," he "walks the walk." I am pleased to recommend this book as a how-to "Bridge Plan" for all of us who are waiting for the arrival of a hoped-for Biomedical Singularity. But this event may not happen until 2038, and we have to be here if we are to take advantage of this event. In this book, Dr. Life teaches us what we need to do to make sure that we're all here to celebrate the singularity. -- L. Stephen Coles, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Life uses what he calls age management medicine to keep men young and active. I'm reviewing this book only because I specialize in fitness books and many of my readers are men. I certainly think the good doctor looks absolutely great. Stunning. A real ten. But when it comes to preaching hormone replacement therapy and HGH, I think he's getting into dangerous territory, according to most of what I read. At least, it can be.

The doctor says he was becoming an old man at fifty nine. He had no interest in sex. He suffered erectile dysfunction and low self-esteem. That led to anxiety and depression. Now I firmly believe in the low-glycemic diet he advocates. He also advocates low fat but that's been shown not to work. And certainly exercise is key to the door that opens good health and youth. Those things alone bring about everything you see on the cover of this book.

The author starts out with the famous Bill Phillips program. Then he goes into another program that advocates hormone therapy. So, he has his levels checked. He gets into replacing testosterone, DHEA, and growth hormone. This is where the author loses me. I think this is giving men bad advice. I'm sure some men may truly require one or more of these things. But to take them indiscriminately is not smart and can be dangerous -- just like taking steroids is dangerous.

To be sure, there are supplements and, indeed, foods that will help hormones to return to normal. In truth, this book is very basic, valid information. The hormone therapy is all that sets it apart and I think that's questionable and probably unnecessary and unhealthy in most cases. All people lose hormones as they age. But certain foods help regain those hormones and, at times, exercise does too. Doctors are far too quick to think pills are the answer to everything.

Doctors insisted women take hormone replacement for decades only to find out it was killing them. Do men want the same thing? I don't like any fitness program that recommends questionable supplementation or medical intervention. So, while I know this book has numerous five star ratings, I can't give it one.
