Weiss and Hickman are the masters of fantasy! Dragons of Autumn Twilight is the first book in the Dragon Lance series. You'll fall in love with the characters (or hate them). Exciting and full of adventure, you'll find it nearly impossible to put down. If you're a Lord of the Rings fan....you're sure to love this!

This was the first Dragonlance novel I read. I met Flint, Tanis, Tika, Raistlin, Caramon, Kitiara, Strum, and the rest. I was hooked.
If you like swords and sorcery I think you will like this book and the others in the series. I have read many and enjoyed them all.

Arguably the Dragonlance Chronicles series is the greatest adolescent fantasy series ever written. I highly recommend this book and the series for an introduction to great fantasy for adolescents. The themes of good and evil have some depth and the storytelling is superb.
Volume One (Dragonlance Legends Book 1) - Time of the Twins :: Over the Edge: Stories and Essays :: Texas) - Cowboy Boots for Christmas - (Cowboy not included) (Burnt Boot :: Lucky in Love :: Wave of Terror

Good introduction into the fantasy genre. If your child shows an inclination or you want to introduce them to the genre it is great for the 4th to 6th grade reading level.
I pre- read a lot of the kids books to make sure they are appropriate and I would put this on the same level as the Rick Riordan (?) rangers apprentice series.

This story contains all of the wonderful fantasy tropes that you look for albeit a bit too simple in the writing style. If you enjoy magic, fantasy stories, or dungeons and dragons then I would recommend this book.

I loved this book. It had GREAT character development for the heros, as well as many of the major villains. More importantly, the characters (...humanoid or not ...) are clearly mortal in all aspects and it helps to guide their decisions as a living being.
Plus... the chapters are spread well enough where the reading does not seem as a reafing marathon.

I read this book originally more than 20 years ago. It is exactly as I remember it...a great into fantasy for the young adult that may not be ready for lotr or asoiaf. It does not try to be something out is not. I can honestly say that I enjoyed it.

I first read the Dragonlance Chronicles in my teens about 20 years ago. I found then and now again the storytelling to be superb, the surrounding world rich and details, the characters intriguing and the plot captivating.
I recommend this book and the ones following it to anyone with a little fantasy fan inside him :-)

The beginning of my all time favorite series. Distinct characters all with their own quirks and issues. I've reread this story a couple of times and hope to get my kids into it one day. If you're looking for an epic fantasy novel, definitely give this series a shot.

I read this series many years ago, and decided to read it an amazing author again now. I forgot much of what happened so it was again a delight to read. I will probably read this series and continue on to the other related series. Margaret Weis is an amazing writer.

Couldn't put it down, it'll take you on a great adventure! Filled with every emotion a movie would but better!

This book really captivates you to keep reading. Fans of Tolkien or Salvatore or any fantasy authors should really pick this one up. Characters like Tanis and Raistlin keep you interested in the lore and mystery of the world of Krynn while characters like Tas and Flint provide good comic relief and heart to the novel. Great world building and lore. Couldn't pout the book down.
