My almost-two year old loves this book! The cadence and rhymes are great fun to read, even over and over ("Again!"). And she enjoys identifying the dog, the baby, the other family members, and finishing the repeated, rhyming lines. And the illustrations are wonderful and fun. One of our favorites. Warning: will make you "Hungry hungry hungry for some Bee-bim Bop" every time!

Fabulous book! My son has part Korean heritage and this book is a great start to my building a library of sorts for him to keep his heritage going strong. Great, super cute illustrations and story. Highly recommend!

I have never tried “Bee-bim bop,” a traditional Korean dish with rice, meat, vegetables and eggs, but after reading this book I hope to soon. Even though the story is best suited for smaller children, my daughter and I both enjoyed reading it together and look forward to trying the delicious recipe the author provided in the afterward.

This adorable book is like a handshake from Korea. A bright little girl is excited about shopping for the evening meal. She can't wait to eat her favorite dish --the Korean dish Bee-bim Bop. She even rhymes her love for this dish and her input in its preparation.

The girl and her mother rush through the store and buy the things they need to make the dish. Everybody is ready to dig in - the girl, her mother, father, Grandmother and the baby. Readers go on a breakneck shopping spree with the girl and at the same time learn about Korean culture and foods. As a bonus, a recipe for Bee-Bim Bop is included.

I love books like this. It really is cultural sharing, a handshake from Korea.

It has cute illustrations, it’s kind of silly, and I love Korean food! This author is very cool. - Sofia, age 7

With lovely rhymes that roll off the tongue easily, an engaging story and lovely pictures, my son adores this book (and I love reading it too)!
This books connects him to his Korean side, but you don't have to be Korean to love this book~ it is really delightful!
I think the comment about pronunciation might be related to the Korean word being pronounced more "bup" or "pup" than "bOp" but it is a very minor pronunciation difference and not a huge deal.

We love this book!

I agree with another poster that the book should have included both English and Korean. I took away another star as there is a religious page include "Amen" which I wasn't aware of and I would hesitate to purchase the book knowing it was there; could have simply bowed and thanked mom, and mom in return thanks the daughter for helping out.

Bought this for my nephews. I really should have looked at the critical reviews on here first. Somewhat cute story about a kid who goes to the market with her mom and makes beebimbop and eats it with her family. I liked it until the end. But. Then, the family says "Amen". My sister and her family are not very religious. I would not have bought this if I had known.

I've read several of Linda Sue Park's other books and love them. Especially "A Single Shard" and "When My Name Was Keoko". This didn't hit the mark
