After reading the two books that proceeded this one I was eager for the next. I was totally hooked and it took me away to another place and culture. I feel like I learned a lot and have a better understanding of the past that has affected today. I was thrilled with this book and sad when it ended. I hope there will be another one in the series. I have recommended this book to friends and family.

Beautifully written story from the large heart of Kent Nerburn. It captures the simplicity, directness, love, and humor of our Native American brothers and sisters while also reminding all of us of our true relationship with Mother Earth and Spirit. I highly recommend this book.

Lots to think about in relation to the history of the Native American. Especially for those who interact with our "Indian" citizens. Excellent book for discussion. Also relative to how the USA and the world are currently treating other countries around the world. Good read!

An unbelievably moving and touching story. Kent Neburn is not only a great storyteller but he brings his own humility to the story that elicits deep compassion and love for a people and culture that has, for some reason never been understood nor properly respected. May this story be a catalyst for healing.

This is the 3rd bookin the series and this series is unlike any other I have ever read. I was unable to put any of the books down until I got to the end. Very worthwhile reading and highly reccomended.

Heartful compelling storytelling! The message is one all of us in the white culture can learn from, if we will but open our minds and hearts. I keep waiting for a film to be made of Nerburn's important work.

Kent Nerburn has done it again. This beautifully written book has captivated me in ways I cannot describe. The third edition to the series was an eye opener for me and I was extremely touched by its contents. I won't go into the book to spoil it but if you would like the REAL truth as to what Native's endured in early American times this is it. I never would have believed what did go on and what has been brushed aside. Kent Nerburn is an amazing writer and I am at a loss of words as to how he captures my emotions and heart. I am deeply happy to say this is one of my favorite reads of all time. Thanks KENT!
