What a book,it really makes you wonder what happened to make this animal of a Father do these evil things the Mother was equaly evil.Their children are ruined for life.I feel so sorry for them I personaly don't think all the therapy in the world will give these children a normal life.Very sad.

The things that happened in this family were pretty unbelievable and it's hard to believe there are such sick people in the world. The book is well written and gives a look at life for children in a completely dysfunctional family. Sad!

It's hard to imagine surviving the evil that lived within the "House Of Secrets." Some sentences require the reader to read them twice, while gasping at every word. Eddie Sexton was the Devil here on earth.

I bought this book because it was highly rated by reviewers, which proves that one should not be influenced by other reader's assessments. The sample I downloaded seemed to have possibilities, but this wasn't evident in the rest of the book. Although the story relates the shocking facts of one of the most dysfunctional families imaginable, where child abuse is rife, the writing was so bland and dreary, it failed to make any impact on me. I found myself speed reading and skipping pages to get through. In fact, I must admit to being bored with the way the story was related and this shouldn't have been so, because it was something that had a potential to be interesting. Presented in such an unpalatable way made it at best, mundane. Maybe it would suffice if it were a newspaper article, but a book to hold one's interest - NO. Don't be led astray by the high rating given by most readers. I can't believe how they could have found it so good and interesting when I found it completely the opposite. The one star I gave was for the potential of the story - the telling of the story didn't deserve any.. This book was very disappointing and difficult to finish. Don't waste your time on it.

Wow!! This story is amazing. I hope its not all entirely true because I hate to think anybody actually lived through all this. I read a lot of true crime and this book really stands out if you have the stomach for it. If you are bothered by torcher of the worst kind don't read it.

This book is very graphic and disturbing. Make sure you are able to handle brutality to children before consider reading this. It is based on facts and is written very well. I would recommend this book.
