You Are Special (Max Lucado's Wemmicks)

I cannot read this to my daughter without tearing up every time, because I understand the symbolism and know I’m teaching it to her. Such a beautiful story of God’s love and how we don’t need the approval of others or the things of this world.

My favorite book of all time. This book warms your heart and has such a deeper meaning. You can't go wrong with this book especially with children. Children and adults love this book. It is one of our favorites at our house. The book came in perfect condition.

This is the MOST touching book and the illustrations are beautiful. Great message about how each of us is special because we were made by the hand of God. I bought it as a Christmas book for myself and a neighbor even though it's not necessarily Christmas. Everyone I know who has read this book has absolutely loved it.

I absolutely adored this book the first time I heard about it. When I received it and got to read it to my nephews, it made me fall in love with it even more. The message in the book, that you should not care what others think of you, as long as your "maker" loves you, that is all that matters is powerful. Especially towards the end. The illustrations are fantastic also!

Max Lucado has written the definitive book for life here on earth. Written for children, but adults should take this to heart. I'm thinking we all need to read this every morning and make sure we visit "Eli"!

We are using this book in a preschool Sunday school class, but I was first introduced to it in an adult class to illustrate core lies that we believe which keep us from true freedom. I love the illustrations and can't wait to read it to my children this coming weekend.

Everyday, the world nitpicks at our children. Everyday, the wold tears them down. I love the thought behind this book! I love the kid friendly lesson that God is no respecter of man. I love arming my children with the knowledge that they do not ever need to seek the approval of the world, only the approval of God.

I love this book! It really helps my little family remember that at the end of the day, the most important thing is living close to God and in self-confidence that it's okay and awesome to be you.

What an amazing book. Truly a book for the young and old. Got this for my granddaughter...but only after my own grown daughter raved about it. Another 32 year old woman from my church was given it as a gift...and read it to a bunch of ladies at a small conference. Beautifully written example of something most of us have faced with God's truth...HIGHLY recommend!

This children's book is perfect. It speaks to the heart of adults as well as children if we are open to it's message, and honest enough to admit that we, too, fit in to either of these catagories. Whether we think that we are "all that", or very unworthy, both need to know that our Creator is the One to determine our value. He alone is able to "see" the things that make us who we are.

Everybody who has children in their lives needs to purchase this book, read it to them frequently and help them understand from an early age that we are each uniquely & wonderfully made & not defined by the labels people try to put on us.... but only after reading it themselves and embracing their own individualism. Max Lucado made it simple & beautiful!

MAx Lucado is a wonderful writer, yes he writes about topics of faith, but this childrens book is wonderful and not blatently "religious". I bought it for my grandson who is having some difficulty with "labels" in his young life. a perfect story about how we are all the same . I noticed he wrote a second bok about the Wemicks and I will certainly get that one too.

Our Bible school theme was "Weird Animals" and was enforcing the truth that God loves us all even though we are all different.
I was able to read "You Are Special" to over 200 children. They loved it and it is such a great lesson about not caring about the labels people put on us but caring about what God thinks of us.
This is my all time favorite children's book!

I bought this book for my daughter because I wanted to add another GOOD book for her library. This is just one of those books...the message is so good. It really makes your heart happier. I think it is a great message for kids of all ages to hear from their parents.

I had expected the digital copy to have beautiful and colorful pictures like the book. Instead the book only had a colorful front cover with no pictures throughout the book. In addition, the text was very small. I wish I could return it and get a refund. Treva Black

I cannot say enough good things about this book. I honestly believe it is one of the best presentations of the gospel for people of any age. What an incredible God we have, and what a creative and beautiful way to depict His love!!

It turned out that my daughter had seen the movie and therefore knew the story. But, we did enjoy reading it together. I find that this cute little book can be used as a reminder of how special we really are and the relationship that we ought to have with our Creator God.
