Freshwater Pond Coloring Book (Dover Nature Coloring Book)

Beautiful! Kept me and my niece quite busy this summer...I'll order one for her to have at home...I suspect my brother will be enjoying it as well. Makes a great gift if you add a nice set of colored pencils and the appropriate sharpener.

My wife and I have enjoyed visiting various nature areas, over the years. This Freshwater Pond Coloring Book provides several examples of natural displays of the microcosm of life around a small pond or lake, which can be further enjoyed by photography or color rendering of the presented scenes displayed in this book, in the sincerest appreciation of the life encountered. We use this book to provide colored pencil or watercolor rendering of the scenes presented, as a composite of life surrounding a freshwater pond, where it would be more difficult to arrange and achieve using photography. The scenes depicted provide additional opportunity to apply various techniques to better present light or shade, which is often captured by camera. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys both nature and artisitic expression.

Wonderful illustrations and very educational as it gives quite a bit of information on each animal, including its Latin name! This would make a great gift for a junior high or even high-schooler to relax with on a rainy day or when summer vacations prove to be too long and boring.
