Great theory combined with practical direction to help one learn how to be effective...gives many fascinating examples in history to drive his points home. Provides a solid roadmap to undoing your ineffective habits and teaching yourself what changes you need to make to start becoming effective. I appreciated the message that becoming effective is different for everyone but a process and a difficult ongoing one at that. One day at a time!

Peter Drucker is the go-to resource for managment advice and instruction. Even though this book was published many years ago, it is still relevant in todays corporate environment.

Every manager should be required to read this.

I have shared this book with my friends, family and colleagues,

Even many years after this book was initially published, it is definitely relevant to my current career (software engineering). That Drucker's thinking has stood such a test of time is a testament to it's value. I would recommend this book to, at a minimum, all college students, if not a broader audience. This is great material.

Drucker presents a very good case that many or most execs are not effective, or as effective as they could be. He also reveals methods by which an executive can increase his/her effectiveness and contribution towards an organization. Very good advice, written in Drucker's straight-forward manner. It is an old book, originally written over 40 years ago, but the concepts are timeless.

Every knowledge worker, manager or executive should read this book. Although old, it felt like a breath of fresh air , because it doesn't follow the formula of today's business book industry. Direct, focused and truthful.

Even though this is an older book, the information is extremely relevant. The examples are older, but the decision and goal making processes are classic. A great book on how to be a more effective leader, executive, and decision maker.
These principles can be applied to most aspects of life to increase personal effectiveness and get the most out of the time you have.

I just finished reading the book last night and I must say this was one of the most interesting leadership books I've read. It describes what an executive is in a very different manner compared to other leadership / executive books. I would recommend this to all leaders at any level of their position. It definitely makes you think differently.

The Effective Executive is great book about managing an effective organization. It talks about analyzing your schedule and doing the right things. It discusses how to maximize the different skills and personalities in an organization and how to fit them with the right positions. Highly recommend this book to anyone who wants become a better executive, manager, or just wants to become more informed on how decisions are made in an organization.

Simple ideas that you need to spend more time thinking about in your daily life. As a "knowledge worker" I found this book very helpful when weighing the pro's and con's of each decision. I will definitely recommend to friends and family.
