I love Nicole Edwards and I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Inked on Paper was different from any other Nicole Edwards book I've read. I don't mean that in a negative however, just a different style. The only part that kept me from rating it a 5 star read was my personal desire for more reasoning behind the main characters' issues that created the difficulty within their relationship. I truly enjoyed the uniqueness in the physicality of the main female character and the career of the main male character.

Amazing secondary characters! This book is a standalone even though the secondary characters are such high quality I could see it as a series to tell their stories. I'm always looking forward to the next amazing book and as always will be keeping a close eye out for the next book by Nicole Edwards!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book and found it to be a very unique beautiful read. This is the first book I have read by Nicole Edwards and as an inspiring author, I loved getting a taste of the journey an author goes through when writing a book. The only downfall for me was that the book was a little on the long side and I would have loved to have seen more interaction and development between the two main characters. Loved how the author tried to shake things up by trying something different, but between getting front row seats with the process, struggles, and development Jake went through when writing his book on top of the main storyline between Jake and Presley, I think the former overshadowed the latter a little too much.
Overall, this was a very interesting sweet read with very little angst that I found very enjoyable.

This is a slower burn romance then compared to Nicole's other work. The sex scenes are still hot but they are different you know?!?

The push and pull between Jake and Presley was at times to much. Well for me anyways. Their communication skills left a lot to be desired. Although I always enjoy anything Nicole writes, this one won't be on my top list for this author. This is probably just a "It's not you, it's me." kinds thing for this book. I do think a lot of other readers would enjoy this one very much. I just liked her other books more. I need a faster paced book. I don't want insta love but I do need the story to move at a faster pace.

I think you should try it if it sounds like something you would enjoy. Nicole is a fantastic writer and her books are great.

I have loved Nicole's books forever. Zane is one of my all time favorites of hers. That being said, this book is a wonderful

standalone that has a totally different feel and I think this is now my favorite of hers.

Jake is an author who has lost his mojo writing but not in the bedroom. Presley is a tattoo artist that cannot get new art on paper. The two

meet and find each other to be their muse.

There is lots of hot sex which we come to expect with Nicole but also a great love story.

Genius! Nicole the queen of hot and sexy gives us more than one romance in this book first we have Presley and Jacob. Guarding their hearts they fall harder than they ever imagined, inspiring more than just their attraction they find their creativity flows better when they are in sync.
Presley an artist without a muse. Jacob a writer with writers block. When they come together you get more than sparks, you get love and so much more as Jacob's writers block is lifted and another amazing romance is created.
The queen of kink and sexy gives us a romance that will bring you heat and tears.

It has amazing characters that you will fall in love with no doubt about it and a story that will capture you and not let you go. This book has got to be read, there is no doubt about it. Nicole grabbed my attention right away with this story. This is about an author who is suffering from writers block. He meets a tattoo artist in a coffee shop who happens to feel her drawing muse is lost. They both inspire each other's creativity. You also get a glimpse of the story being written.

This was a very interesting innovative read. Two artists who lose their creative mojo find inspiration in each other. The more time they spend together the more inspired they are. You get 2 books in one with this creative love story.

Let me start by saying I love Nicole Edwards books. I have all my friends reading Nicole Edwards books. I can also say I have learned a few things from her books if you no what I mean, and if you have read her books than you do no what I mean. I think my problem with this book was it read like a young new adult book. These characters could have been 20 or 21 instead of 28 and 36 years old. I really did not like Jake. He came off like a frat boy having sex with everyone. I mean he's 36 or 37 I think, way to old for his behavior which came of creepy to me. I also didn't like that he had sex with some random girl after meeting Presley. I Know they were not going out, but I still don't want to read that. As far a Presley I really didn't like her either. The way she talked was almost like a biker chick from one of the MC books. I couldn't understand why she was allowing her 2 guy roommates to be having orgies in her living room, if it bothered her that bad. And last but not least the language. I hated the crass use of profanity. It was almost like it was being used for no reason. For me it was a turn off. I still love this author and will continue to read her books. This just wasn't for me.

Inked on Paper really captured my attention when I started reading, a hot male author who writes scorching books and a sassy tattoo artist, what’s not to love!? Jake and Presley really are great characters and the idea of this book was really fantastic and original.

There are a lot of layers to this story, there is a lot going on for these characters and I really enjoyed that. Both Jake and Presley seem to have lost their muse and both have deadlines fast approaching. When they meet, there are definitely sparks but neither seems ready or willing to see it for what it could be, but when their inspiration seems to return for them when together, that’s when it really gets interesting.

I really enjoyed these two together, even though very different, they were a great match for each other. Neither character is what the other really expected the other to be, and I loved watching their relationship develop from hot lust to honest friendship to that fantastic love! Watching these two discover what love really means made my heart happy. They have a great banter together and I love “Chapter One!”

Overall I really did enjoy Jake and Presley’s story, and the others layered in there. They are wonderful characters, people I really wanted to know. Add in the great secondary and it makes for a great read. I do have to say that it felt a bit long to me, sometimes a bit repetitive, but it’s definitely worth it, I absolutely loved the end and the way Nicole Edwards brought it all together. Jake and Presley are two characters who truly deserve their HEA!

very good story about Jake Wild, best selling author of erotic romance novels, who moves back home to Texas from New York to help out during a family emergency. Jake finds that since his move he is having trouble getting back into writing but is being pestered by his manager to get his next book done on time which is fast approaching. Also in Austin is Presley, a tattoo artist and owner of a local shop, who since a break up a year ago is having the same problem Jake is in that she also cannot seem to draw the way she used to and a art contest is fast approaching. They meet up one day at a coffee shop and they click. Jake finds that all of a sudden he can write and Presley must be his muse as well Presley is finding she is starting to draw once again. As this book progresses you actually end up having a story within the story as you get to see the story Jake does as his next book which he pours not only himself into it but also what he wants Presley to feel as well. Really interesting concept to have the story within the story. A lot goes into this in that Jake has issues he needs to overcome to have a relationship and Presley certainly has some really tough issues she needs to get past to be there for Jake. Totally recommend - very good read also you can expect a lot of hot sex from not only these two, Jake's characters, but also Presley's roommates are constantly with someone.

I thought the premise of this book was really cool. It has a book within a book. Jake is a writer and this book not only takes you through his love story but also the book he is currently writing...or trying to anyway.

Jake has had writers block for quite some time. Presley thinks she has lost her creative edge. When they meet they are both sitting in a coffee shop praying they will be hit by a creative streak but they got something even better. They got hit by the lust to love steak! (Corny, I know.)

Presley has been wronged in the past and is hesitant to trust. When she meets Jake there is definitely interest there but she would rather play it safe when it comes to matters of the heart.

Jake is just trying to write a book and keep in close contact with his niece. He doesn't want or expect to have such strong feelings for someone he has just met but once he does he fights to win her heart.

I really liked the story within a story too until I realized the full story was at the end of this book. It kind of felt like I was rereading it since so little of it changed from when he wrote it in the book though. That is why I didn't go with 5 stars. If the review was right after Jake and Presley's story came to an end I likely would have given this 5 stars.

Either way it is an awesome book by one of my favorite authors.

Definitely a different direction than most of the other books I have read by this author. It was a great story though with a little less sexy than other books. Loved the insight into a writers mind though!!

After a slow start I really enjoyed this book. This was a unique book as it was a story within a story. I felt invested in two sets of main characters.

Yes it’s a contemporary romance but it still has Nicole’s signature writing and hotness. It’s sweet and sexy with little angst. There’s lots of humor as the banter between Presley and her roommates will make you laugh out loud. And you can’t forget the romance and swooning. Jake will make you fall for him with his sweet and gentlemanly gestures.

Jake and Presley both think they aren’t destined for a happy ending. Their pasts leaving little to be desired in the love and relationship department. It’s hard to believe in love and happiness when neither had anyone to look for guidance. Happily Ever After isn’t for everyone but with a little work and love these two were destined to have one.

Presley and Jake had an Unexpected love.

The added bonus at the end was a pleasant surprise and completed the book perfectly.
