The sneak peeks were very promising. I really thought we were going to have a strong, smart heroine. And for a few chapters we did.
Addison was weighed down by what her mother did, and the gossips made sure she was guilty by association. She lets these people dictate what she is worthy of. She becomes whiney and insecure.
Elijah is a weird character. I know people from upper crust families can be a bit snooty, but this guy comes off like he's from recency England.
They meet when Addison's cousin leaves him at the altar. From there they start a co-dependant friendship. And we know how well friendships between the opposite sex turn out.
Of course they have sex (kinky for Mr. Stick up the bum), of course there are emotional differences, of course there is drama.
The ending is abrupt with a FUN.

Here we are again, release day for the newest Tessa Bailey book. At some point I’m going to be intentional about using my vacation time on these days so that I’m not worthless when I arrive sleep deprived to my cubicle.

This book. I swore I was going to read just a chapter, but as my heart raced and my stomach knotted I knew I needed to know how it ended. I LOVE these characters, I love this story, I love the insecurities from the man in the relationship.

So in summary, Getaway Girl is worth every second of the book hangover you’ll be nursing after you finish her.

Official Summary:

This unlikely getaway driver never expected to help the mayor escape…

After a six-year absence, Addison Potts is back in Charleston to stir things up. And what better place to make her villainous return than her estranged cousin’s wedding? Only, the nuptials hit a snag when the bride doesn’t show, leaving Addison to play getaway driver for the jilted groom. A groom whose heartbreaking smile and deep, southern drawl she should not be noticing…

Elijah Montgomery Du Pont is the future mayor of Charleston. From his military career to city hall, every detail of his life has been meticulously planned. Until now. His only respite from life’s sudden upheaval is Addison, his new, improbable best friend. She makes him happy. Grounds him. And public disapproval be damned, he’s not willing to give her up. But with an election on the line and public pressure rising, Addison—and the cruel hand of fate—might not give him a choice.

What I Liked:

Tessa Bailey's books and I go a long way back, starting with Officer Off Limits, which is still one of my favorites of hers and one of my favorite Entangled Brazen novels to date. Bailey's books always deliver the sexy, the sweet, the dirty, and the HEA. Getaway Girl is Bailey's second self-published novel and it is yet another hit for me!

Addison Potts is back in Charleston, after her grandmother died and left her a business to run. The book starts with Addison sneaking into her cousin's wedding - her prim, rich, golden-girl cousin is marrying the golden boy, mayor's son, future mayor himself. When Addison lays eyes on the groom, she knows there is something about this man. There is an instant heat, but that's her cousin's husband-to-be, right? Wrong. Naomi stands up Elijah, leaving Elijah alone in a church full of southerners who want to see a wedding. What's a guy to do? Leave. And what's a girl to do? Offer him a ride to get away, of course. Elijah and Addison strike up an unconventional friendship, with her offering him her home as a sanctuary, as friends. With Addison, Elijah feels comfort, home, and peace. With Elijah, Addison feels less adrift in Charleston. But friendship isn't what either of them want. With the election looming, Elijah can't afford another scandal, especially not the kind involving Addison Potts, who has a history of her own in Charleston.

Addison is such a tough lady, and it was impossibly easy to like her. She is prickly at times, and she delivers honesty and bluntness with no games or sugar-coating. She has thick skin, especially with her family history in Charleston - she has to have thick skin. Addison also has a good heart; she opened her home to a stranger, seeing that he needed comfort and simplicity.

Elijah is such a southern gentleman, with the charm and the manners. He treats Addison like a proper lady, he doesn't curse (not aloud, anyway), he uses manners like "yes ma'am", and he thinks of everyone else first. He's the mayor's son and he is set to win the upcoming election and take his father's place. Elijah has always had a lot of expectations placed on him, and he handles them well, but sometimes expectations are overwhelming. Meeting Addison was the best thing for Elijah, because she showed him a much simpler and quiet life.

I love how the pair became friends, good friends, and learned to trust and be comfortable with each other. It's so rare that you see two characters grow as friends first, before becoming more. Usually they're already friends, or they meet and start dating soon after. This was cute because they drew the line on their first meeting - they were going to be friends and no more. With Elijah just having been jilted at his wedding, and with his spotless reputation, they couldn't afford to be seen as anything more than friends. I liked this development of the relationship - it's friends to lovers, but from the very beginning of the friendship.

When things finally cross over to the "more-than-friends" side... whew! It got hot really quickly. Don't get me wrong - Elijah and Addison were both attracted to each other from the start. But they didn't act on their attraction. But when they do, there are fireworks and thunder. They have great chemistry and all that bottled-up tension explodes on the page. Bailey always writes really hot romances and steamy sexy times. She has become more inventive and creative with each book. The heroine is a dirty talker, and the hero is a selfless guy who likes to please his lady. It's a good match!

There is much more to this story than the romance - in fact, the romance is on par with the "other" plot. Elijah's election is probably the biggest part of the story, as it dictates a lot of Elijah and Addison's relationship. With her history (which I won't talk about), and the fact that Elijah just got stood up at the altar, they have to be careful. Addison's family history comes up and that's another big part of the story. But everything comes together in the end, romance included.

The ending is a wonderful HEA! Addison gets resolution in terms of some personal things, Elijah finds balance in his life, and the pair figure out how to make things work for them. I love a good ending that involves both characters waking up.

This is a fantastic self-published contemporary romance novel that is satisfying and engrossing from start to finish. With a unique plot and lush backdrop, Getaway Girl is a novel that I'll be rereading in the future. I'm always down for more Bailey romances!

What I Did Not Like:

Nothing specific comes to mind!

Would I Recommend It:

If you like steamy adult contemporary romance novels, this is definitely one for you. I'd recommend any of Bailey's books, but I will say that her books have gotten steamier and steamier, with each one she writes. Some may not work for everyone; this one involved a dirty-talking heroine, and a selfless hero who had minor alpha tendencies. It's a friends-to-lovers, slow-burn, high-tension, chemistry-filled romance that really delivers when the sexy times kick in. I recommend it!

Rating:

4 stars. I didn't really care for Naomi, BUT I think it would be so cool to read her story. Where did she go for two months? What was she doing? Better yet - let's see the aftermath of the two months, with her back in town and Elijah/Addison already together and squared away. It would be cool to see her find love, especially since there were no hard feelings between her and Elijah. Anyway, I also wouldn't mind this book being a complete standalone, so there's that!

PHENOMENAL!
Elijah DuPont has just joined the uber elite ranks of Brent, Duke, Beck and *fans self* Henrik as my all time favorite TB hot-stuff heroes!!
Im not quite sure if it was the smooth as molasses southern charm, the twitter account worthy backside or his filthy mouth (yeah, pretty sure it was this) but Elijah wormed his way into my heart never to leave. And Addison was my kind of girl. Strong on the outside, fragile on the inside. The two of them couldnt have been more perfect for each other.
I cant really say enough good things about this story. It was SOLID. From beginning to end. Im a picky reader and if I give a book 5 stars then I cant find a single thing I think needs improved. From the first page of Getaway Girl, I was hooked in.. loving it. The story flowed smoothly, the characters were fully developed and very complex. It was simply great. I completely and HIGHLY recommend it!

I will admit that I am disappointed. With the exception of the bsdm books that I skipped, most of the times I really like to love this author’s books. Unfortunately this book is one of the exceptions and it is because of the hero.

Spoilers included below

First the good. The book had hot sexy times. There was no cheating. Neither had smex with OP after meeting. It has a HFN ending. These are the reasons that I gave the book a 3 star rating as opposed to 1 star.

However the author did not give me what I wanted. I read this author’s books because she usually gives me my fix of possessive and jealous heroes who fall hard and fast. They only want the heroine and no other women will do. They are willing to do whatever they have to do to make her his including chasing her and locking up the relationship, giving the heroine very little choice to opt out of the relationship. The heroine makes him chase and if anyone has doubts it is her and not him. The hero doesn’t waiver in his feelings or in getting his woman. Is this a PC attitude? Certainly not. Do I care? Not even a little because it is romanceland and not reality. However every once in a while this author does not give me what I want and this book is one of those times.

Here it is true that the hero was possessive and jealous so I was happy about that but the dude failed in other respects. The heroine fell hard and fast not the hero. For the longest time he just wanted to be friends. He was happy with that status, with her being his best bud. In fact it took her seducing him to change the relationship. Then because he liked the smex he wanted to do it again so he just wanted to have a friends with benefits arrangement. Not cool. She of course wanted more. Poor thing. Not happening because the hero believed that he was in love with the finance who dumped him at the altar. Also he didn’t want the potential political fallout that might occur from being with her. She was essentially his dirty little secret. He played house with her but kept her and the relationship hidden. Then not only was the heroine the first one to say “I love you” but then he didn’t say it back. Surely this cannot be! Sadly it was and I was as wounded as the heroine was. It took him for almost the end of the story to man up, realize he didn’t love the OW but rather the heroine and finally went after her. Too little, way too late. He was not worthy of having the alpha status.

My bookworm heart is always happy when Tessa Bailey releases a book. She's in my top five favorite author list and her books always deliver an unforgettable reading escape. Getaway Girl was a fun-filled reading journey that left me with a smile on my face and a heart bursting with love for Addison and Elijah.

Elijah Montgomery Du Pont is having a bad day. It's not every day that the future mayor of Charleston is left waiting at the altar by his future bride. A simply note is all he gets as an explanation. He needs an escape and he needs is ASAP! Addison Potts is like a breath of fresh air that he never expected. She's fun, addictive and makes him forget about the patterns in his life. As days go by, Elijah and Addison get closer together. The lines between friendship and love start to blurb. Will Addison and Elijah give love a chance?

No matter who she's writing about next, Tessa Bailey always delivers all the feels. Each of her characters are unique, unforgettable and simply irresistible! Her writing style is a reflection of how much she loves her characters. She gives each of her characters a HEA that is so perfect for them.

Addison and Elijah stole my heart from the very first scene that they shared. Their chemistry was incredibly hot and the passionate moments that they shared were intense. I loved their friendship and how it slowly bloomed into love. It warmed my heart to see them slowly fall for each other because they complete each other perfectly. Their fun banter kept me smiling until the very end and I was cheering for this couple to find the HEA they both deserved.

If you have never read a book by Tessa Bailey, you're seriously missing out! She writes the best protective, dirty-talking alphas and her heroines are sassy, confident and so easy to relate to. Getaway Girl is the perfect book for all newbies that want to discover this wonderful author. Her stories will linger with you for a long time.

I give, Getaway Girl, by Tessa Bailey, 4.5 passionate, intense, fun, flirty, sexy stars!

'Freedom. She’s freedom and light and...more. So much more.'

I think Addison Potts might just be my favorite Tessa Bailey heroine yet.

That’s a big call—I love the way Ms. Bailey writes her women, with sass and spunk and that extra bit of spark that makes them so much fun—but Addison . . . Well, Addison is something extra, extra special. Maybe it’s the freedom. Maybe it’s the light. Or maybe it’s the way she can be strong and vulnerable all at once, and never once become too anything.

Whatever it was, she was scene-stealing goodness in a book that was magical from start to finish.

I absolutely loved Getaway Girl. Light-hearted, flirty and—at times—filthy, it was addictive as hell. Unputdownable, that’s probably the best (if not the smartest . . .) way of describing Elijah and Addison’s story.

Gosh, I wish I could write something a little less awkward fangirl and a lot more insightful but . . . there wasn’t a thing about this book I would change. It’s like a checklist of all the things I love about Ms. Bailey’s quirky, clever way of writing.

I swear on Elijah’s Twitter-and-GIF-worthy butt, if you one-click this book, you’ll love it. You’ll be charmed, amused, turned way, way the f_ on, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll also find your new favorite hero or heroine, just like me.

P.S. A story for Naomi, please!!

'Love isn’t duty and tradition and consistency. It’s wild and unquenchable and inconvenient. It’s messy and raw.'

"Not loving you would have been crazier than loving you at first sight"

I really do enjoy reading books about love at first sight- there is something about that "theory" that has always intrigued me and this book gave me all of the feels! Cover of the book -Hot, first few pages- hotter, and the overall story- HOT HOT HOT! Addison and Elijah belong together and I was so excited to get to read their story.

Addison is back in Charleston, SC. She sees the groom of the wedding she is attending and can't help but think that he should not be getting married. Crazy thought to think that thought at a wedding, and an even crazier thought when you combine it with the fact that she has never met the man, doesn't know anything about him, AND he is getting married to her cousin- yes you read that right! Once you dive further into the book, you will understand that it was just something that couldn't be helped from Addison, that it was love at first sight. Honestly, I wasn't even mad at the girl cause when you know, you know. Elijah somehow winds up in Addison's car after the ceremony ends and what follows is what makes the book so great!

This was my first book by Tessa Bailey and surely will not be my last. I loved the fast pace of the book and I loved how interesting the story was. Each character had their own quirks and things about them that I just loved reading about, and you couldn't help but want to know more and more while reading. It was a fun and quick read for me and while the book had a HEA, there were many moments where I wanted to punch Elijah right in the face. However, at the end in my opinion he redeems himself and makes you swoon over him because you know this is true love! It had moments of intrigue with the backstory including some family drama, the perfect balance of steamy scenes, and a great ending that will keep a smile on your face for days.

I give this book 5 stars because it was the perfect read for me, and I would definitely recommend it to my fellow book lovers. It has everything you could want out of a romance book and just enough mystery surrounding the story to keep you hooked and zoned in until you finish the book. I totally got lost in the story and absolutely loved it and think you will too! Getaway Girl is must read and you will not be disappointed!

When Addison returned to Charleston and stood at the back of her estranged cousin’s wedding, she didn’t plan on rescuing the groom, but that is exactly what happened. And with Addison being his only option for a quick getaway, Elijah doesn’t think twice and jumps in her car. From that moment on, these two strangers, who have absolutely nothing common, become friends. Addison gives him a place to get away from everything, while Elijah buy her lots of cereal. Sounds like a good arrangement to me!

I don’t think I can put into words how much I loved Elijah. And not just because of his nice butt. ;-) He was this jilted groom who was supposed to be mourning a marriage that never happened, but instead finds himself hanging out with the last person he should be hanging out with and gluing buttons on snowman ornaments. Seems like the right And before he knows it, he thinks of Addison as his best friend. And don’t even get me started on the moment that he realizes his feelings for her are WAY more than friendly. Because OH. MY. GOD. Hot doesn't even begin to describe it.

This story is full of sweet moments and moments that will make you have to change your panties. Elijah and Addison have crazy chemistry and the sort of slow burn we get with them is amazing. I loved how Addison brought out a different side of Elijah. It's not that Elijah didn't know who he was before he met her. He's a successful politician who people like and admire. But was a bit reserved and maybe even a little uptight, but once he met Addison, all that went away.

Addison and Elijah are definitely one of my favorite Tessa Bailey couples. After I finished reading, I immediately wanted more of them. This will be one book I plan on reading over and over again.

“We could keep arguing. Or you could open your legs like a good girl and get a nice treat. Which is it going to be?”

Elijah Montgomery Du Pont, you dirty, dirty man! You guys are going to absolutely FLIP over these characters! It was love at first page for me, like it is with most Tessa Bailey romances that I read. Her words bring me such joy and with every new release there is a brand new set of characters to fall HARD for.

Elijah and Addison were absolutely PERFECT together! Addison’s ‘don’t care’ attitude seemed to throw off Elijah, but in reality it was a breath of fresh air to him. Elijah was so very gentlemanly at first, but then when things started to heat up, MY GOD! That man’s mouth is so deliciously dirty! Together, these two characters LIGHT UP the pages, one by one, making us laugh, curse, and blush over and over again.

I loved the easy friendship they had, even though in their minds, they craved more with every look and every touch. Then the moment comes where they just COMBUST, and it gets SUPER STEAMY real fast! That easy friendship they had? How can they ever go back to that when they know what the other tastes like, feels likes…when they know how HOT it can truly be? You’ll find out in their AMAZING journey!

I’m so damn excited that Ms. Bailey created these characters. One is definitely my spirit animal, and the other is HEROIC PERFECTION in every single way! This coupling made this book what it was…ABSOLUTE ROMANTIC PERFECTION!

Getaway Girl is hands down the most unique best friends to lovers story I have ever read. The gist of the plot is one I’ve read before, but absolutely NOT in the way that Tessa Bailey weaves the story of Addison and Elijah. These are the characters we are usually narrated to dislike, but Tessa takes the groom and the getaway girl and makes them so easy and fun to root for! I appreciated this side of the story.

Addison is quirky and fun. Shes like every holiday smushed into one person. A kaleidoscope of personality that she keeps hidden until the perfect moments. She’s so easy to root for and defend from harsh characters in the book. Elijah.. oh sweet, huge badonk Elijah. He is southern sweetness mixed perfectly with the right amounts of alpha. He’s a good human. He tries to be a good human at least. Even though both of these characters have ups and downs they work together to be better. Addison and Elijah are two puzzle pieces that fit perfectly, and their story is just so so good. Full of witty banter and inner monologue, small town drama and community, characters you will fall so easily for.

I can’t say enough good things about this book. I need to stop because at this point I’m just rambling. Tessa Bailey knocked it out of the park.

PS - I would LOVE LOVE LOVE Naomi’s story. I mean she is the runaway girl. What is a getaway girl without one of those?

4.5 star review!
Another wild ride from Tessa Bailey!

Addison Potts has just returned to town after losing her Grandmother. The only person in her life she could count on for love and support. Feeling alone in the world, she decides to crash her cousin's wedding to prove the point that a Potts girl will never stand down. While she fully expected her family's rejections and disdain at her appearance, she fully DID NOT expect to FEEL anything for the prospective groom... or any sort of envy for the bride, her cousin... who runs from the wedding before a single vow is said.

Addison knows how it feels to be rejected by these people. Perhaps that's her motive for giving the groom an easy way to escape speculation, gossip, or pity, by pulling her car around the church to where he stands and urging him to take the ride. From this moment, she becomes his escape from the pressure of his run for political office. She becomes the scandal he can't afford, but is unable and unwilling to resist. Her home becomes his go-to haven, and contributing as willing labor to her inherited handcraft business becomes his distraction while Addison becomes his balm, and a close and important friend. The pull of their mutual attraction challenges Addison's lifelong concept that "Potts Girl = Bad Girl", but how can she take a chance at losing the only person who has accepted her without question since her grandma died? That same attraction ties Eli in knots, because how can he go from ready to marry someone else to loving Addison?

What I personally love in this friends-to-lovers- romance, is how our dirty talking alpha has met his match in this heroine. Addison is an unexpected contradiction in feisty and vulnerable, sassy and sweet. She meets him phrase for dirty talking phrase, and exceeds that with unexpected action that shocks and thrills Eli Dupont.

But when station and family duty rush back in to threaten the couple's budding affair, Addison is left to wonder if "Potts Girl" really is doomed to equal "scandal"... and when Eli seems to believe the worst of her, he confirms of all Addison's fears of never escaping the "Bad Girl" scandalous label and the Getaway Girl makes a getaway herself. But when Eli finally realizes what he stands to lose, will he be able to find and convince her that she is everything he's never thought to deserve?

'Getaway Girl' is funny, sweet, hot, and human. I will always admire this author's ability to consistently create characters that are so different from book to book and whose journeys are fresh and fun every time. If you're looking for the ride of your life, hop in the car and join Eli and Addison for one awesome escape in this funny, sweet, and scorchingly hot romance read!

Go. Read. Now!

***I voluntarily reviewed this book for Katsindiebookblog, and I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book.*** Want a book that will keep you on your toes and punched with a lot of emotions and action? This is most definitely the book for you! You immediately get thrown into the thralls of upper class southern society. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Addison Potts was born into this world, but because of her mother’s mistake, was pushed out of the Elite group. She makes a reappearance to tie up some lose ends, however she wasn’t expecting to get tugged emotionally by a guy, a guy who is next in line to become Mayor.
Elijah, following in his father’s footsteps in becoming Mayor, can’t help by being pulled towards a dark haired beauty. She’s nothing like the elite that grew up with him. However, she turns into his solace, home away from home. She removes all the dark from him and actually makes him smile and laugh.
Can 2 different people from obvious different societies become a match made in heaven? Or will their separate worlds pull them apart?
This was most definitely a great read for me. The writing and characters were excellent. You can easily feel what they are feeling plus some. Make sure you grab this book, it’s definitely worth it!

I loved Elijah and Addison’s relationship. They met under unique circumstances when she comes to his rescue and she seems to be his savior in many different ways. She was his escape from reality where he could be himself. If it wasn’t for her he would have ended up in a loveless marriage for the sake of his political career. They had a sweet friendship that turned into a beautiful relationship no matter how hard they resisted. Their dirty talk actually made me laugh. Maybe I’m immature but it almost seemed more funny to me than sexy but it went so well with their dynamic that I didn’t mind it. The sex itself was pretty dirty on it’s own! It’s too bad we never got to meet her grandmother. She sounded like a fun character to read about. I thought the story flowed well. There was everything from friendship and romance to escaping tragedy. The sequence of events was exactly how I hoped it would be because these two needed a reality check towards the end and they certainly got one. Once we actually meet Naomi, I liked her which I wasn’t expecting. She was realistic about what their future held and even though she handled it terribly she was smart to get out. She was much better than her mother at least ? It was a very cute story and I loved the premise and the execution.

Elijah, oh, Elijah. You swoony, Southern politician you. With your booty worthy of a twitter handle plus several GIFs and your looks that could crash ships in the harbor, you may be one of my favorite Heroes ever. I am so very happy that our DGAF heroine Addison rescued and befriended you in your time of need. I am so glad that she saw past your gentleman in the streets and brought out your freak in the sheets. Because it's one of your best traits.

And Addison, oh my darling rebel. You had me at Grey Goose. I love your badassery. I love your strength and your work ethic and your sense of family. I love your dirty mouth. I love that you are such a good friend to Elijah, even though your insta attraction made it so so so tough.

Oh, and let's not forget Charleston, SC. One of my very favorite places. One of my second homes, if you will. This book made me miss it. This book nailed it. This book brought out the finer parts of this beautiful city and I loved that.

Slow burn to fire. Southern Politics-but not the boring or stereotypical stuff. Tugging of the heartstrings. Filthy Sex. Cute nicknames. Family and friends. Angst. Romance. Getaway Girl is amazing, and Tessa is once again brilliant.

Sometimes, you just need to get away from where you currently are. And, sometimes, it needs to happen quickly.

Addison has a car and Elijah is missing a fiancée...at his wedding. The combination makes for a meet cute and the chance for them to become friends first and to allow the relationship to develop.

I enjoyed this title. It felt like a different story. I liked that it was not rushed, that their attraction was there but Elijah had the time to get over his botched wedding and all of the expectations he had for his future. Once this happened, he had the chance to move on with Addison...and I loved that the foundation for the relationship had been so well developed, and that the reader was along for the ride as it was developing.

I always enjoy titles by Tessa Bailey as they are always full of characters you like, situations you relate to (or at least believe if you haven't been in them) and really, really hot sex. All of this combines into a story that you enjoy. I know, when I pick up a title by this author, that I am going to enjoy the ride.

I recommend this title.

First thoughts about Getaway Girl... Amazing! Sweet! Humorous! Hot! I think Elijah is my dream man. He's everything a southern gentleman should be, but with a demanding "alpha" hidden inside. I love the way this story starts out as just a happenstance and becomes a friends to lovers romance. Addison Potts is the progeny of the black sheep in the family. She would prefer to remain behind the scenes when it comes to her uppity relatives. Addison is entranced with Elijah at first sight, but she knows she can't have Charleston's "golden boy." Can an inappropriate ornament maker have a relationship with Charleston's soon-to-be mayor? Time will tell.

I immensely enjoyed this book. Talk about humorous! Elijah's butt has a twitter account! Don't believe me? Go look up @DuPontBadonk! This book has all of the things! Tessa Bailey can WRITE. And the sexy times in this book are def off the charts. You don't want to miss this one. Getaway Girl is easily one of the best books I've read this year.

5 PLUS super stars for Getaway Girl!

A sassy, know what she wants heroine rescues a jilted groom who is a swoony Southern gentleman in the streets, a dirty talking dream in the sheets.

I've been devouring ever Tessa Bailey book I can get my hands on and her latest does not disappoint. Addison Potts is back in town to take over her beloved and recently deceased grandmother's naughty decorations shop AND to take a quick stop at her estranged cousin's wedding. Addison doesn't quite understand why she wants to attend and she is definitely not expecting she'll end up rescuing the jilted groom.

Eli, future mayor of Charleston, thought he had everything wrapped up in a neat little box. Political career, 'perfect' politician's wife, new house. Being left at the altar was not in the plan.

Addison, his sexy surprise getaway driver, blows through his life like a tornado in the best way. Throwing caution to the wind, these two begin a delicious and slow-burn dance to a perfect HEA.

My goodness, this beauty came out of nowhere and captured my heart!!! I fell in love Addison and Captain Du Pont <3 This was unlike any story I had read and it was so refreshing to get lost in such a uniquely beautiful story.

Elijah Du Pont's life has been planned thoroughly and he like an obedient son, has gone with it, until the day those plans came to a halt. Addison was at the right place at the right time and for a fleeting moment she thought she could rewrite her future.

Addison and Captain Du Pont's banter had me cracking up along with their quirky way of distressing by hot gluing the big buttons on the snowman.

I must say that I was totally rooting for Addison, especially after reading about her past, and I was hoping that she would get her HEA.

Be prepared for this beautiful gem that capture my heart and attention and was saddened when I got to the end because I wanted more Captain Du Pont and his #GetawayGirl !!! Kara~5 Amazing Stars

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

Oh how I loved this book from beginning to end! Addison was so feisty and vulnerable and fun and you could see immediately why Elijah was going to fall in love with her - it was inevitable. And Captain Du Post (aka: Elijah)! He was the epitome of a southern gentleman but it was AMAZING to see him evolve as his relationship with Addison evolved (good GAWD that man might just be the best dirty talking book boyfriend I've encountered yet!). Their chemistry was so delicious, their friendship was sweeter than candy, and the emotions felt so real that I cried on several occasions. It was just a fantastic book and Tessa Bailey is now officially one of my "Must Read Authors." I can't wait to see what she does next (I'm hoping that she does let us know what Naomi got in to while she was in Florida) and I'm looking forward to diving into the books that she's already gifted the universe. 5 out of 5 wine glasses.
