If you actually spent money and bought this piece of garbage make sure that the store refunds every penny. While your at it, ask them why they are marketing this opportunistic, counterfeit author alongside the Genuine Real Deal Stephen King? King has the resources to sue the store for plain deceptive sales tactics? If he doesn't I hope someone does. First it's fake Chinese knockoffs. Now its fake authors. Sad

This is NOT the horror writer Stephen King but someone else with, perhaps, the same name who is getting sales by fooling people into thinking he is THE Stephen King. the store should deal with this, it's so wrong.

Do not fall for this charlatan. He is capitalizing on the good name of the ACTUAL STEPHEN KING. He should be required to use a middle initial at the bare minimum, but for some reason, the store is allowing him to continue this charade.

This is one of a bunch of extremely poorly written books authored by a person named Stephen King and sold on the store. the store, possibly inadvertently, has lured customers, into buying these "Stephen King" books as real Stephen King books. The angry customer reviews on the store are evidence to that. the store needs to stop linking this "Stephen King's" (even if this is his real name) books to the "real" Stephen King because it is an outright lie!

This is NOT the "real" Stephen King who wrote Carrie and 11/22/63. Don't be fooled.

Even if this person's name really is Stephen King, if he/she had any integrity, he/she would use a middle initial.

If you love Stephen King, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. Otherwise, you'd be giving your money to someone who is probably capitalizing on a name only.

Apparently some A-hole not named Stephen King decided to publish under the name Stephen King. At the second story I started to suspect something was wrong.

I actually read the book all the way through. And you, sir are no Stephen King.

This is poorly-written drivel and it is being deceptively marketed.

Stephen King, the author of Carrie, didn't write this. That author probably has a site on the worldwide web that lists everything he's ever written.

As everyone points out, this is not a book written by the famous Stephen King. People are angry and critical because of the author's name. However, there is nothing unique about the name Stephen King. There are probably thousands of people with the same name, and note that there are celebrities who share names. For example, two actresses have the name Vanessa Williams, and to confuse things even more, they both were in "Soul Food." One starred in the movie, and the other in the tv series. Please stop faulting and criticizing the author for having a common name.

I will admit to not noticing the middle initial included in the author's name and assuming this is the same writer who wrote "Pet Sematary." However, in the first few sentences, I could tell this was not the same Stephen King, but I liked the stories. They were not thrilling or scary, but they were entertaining enough for me to get through a boring day of work. They were amusing, and a little comical. He also did not drag the plots out, which I love in a writer. Sometimes even best selling authors bore me with too much detail. When it comes to a point that I am reading and imagining a guy reading the newspaper and drinking coffee, I get bored and start flipping through a story until it gets interesting again. I think Stephen R. King has a long way to go, in terms of building a climax and proof reading, but I believe that he will shine on his own eventually. I will definitely read more of his work in the future.

This is not written by the famous Stephen King of maine. Although the plot is interesting character development is poor. I actually did read it all but only because it was so short. I do not recomend it for King fans, or any others.

As with everything written by King, very readable and well written. Poor editing with multiple cases of use of same sounding but incorrect word, eg, using 'sum' when correct word would be 'some'. (my example).

I love reading Stephen King's books. As a result, I was disappointed in the short stories of Descendants. The creepy horror that has been contained in King's novels was not very creepy. It appears that King's best works are in long narratives.

I cannot believe that I was duped into purchasing the book, but three paragraphs into it, I realized that either Mr. King, the real Mr. King, had decided to forget how to write, or this was a perverse joke. It was actually a joke. I certainly hope that my hero, the real Stephen King, sues this persons arse off.

While I enjoyed the stories, the incredibly bad grammar and spelling throughout was very distracting and not like past books by King that I have read. It seemed like there had been no proofreading, except I can't believe King is that poor a speller! If this is a new publisher, he needs to switch back!

While I found the short stories to be engaging and, in some instances, thought provoking, the attention to editing left something to be desired. Just because it's an electronic vision of the book shouldn't be a reason not to pay attention to the proper use of homonyms and synonyms, nor should it be a reason to not fix basic typographical errors. So, a good read, but the riots were distracting.
