4 - "Who knew the day I walked into the studio... we'd end up here." Stars!

My last read from Melanie Moreland was the enjoyable The Contract to say that It Started With a Kiss is almost the polar opposite to that book would almost be an understatement.

That is in no way meant disrespectfully, because I enjoyed the story that the author gave Daniel and Avery, but it is a book that falls into the sugary-sweet, light-speed-insta-love, virtually no drama or conflict category.

"I feel so much and it’s so solid, so real, and I’m worried it’s too fast."

If you are looking for angst and an alpha a-hole then book is definitely not the one for you. But I was in the mood for romance, and that’s exactly what I got.

There isn’t a huge amount to really give away plot wise, I am sure a lot of you remember the You-tube video that was popular last year of couples who had never met kissing each other for the first time, I would say it’s a pretty good guess that this story derived from that video, because it is exactly how Avery and Daniel meet, fall in love, and have lots and lots of happy times together.

Short of one minor disagreement and a little car trouble towards the end of the book, I could almost see rainbows, glitter and unicorns flitting in my peripheral vision as the story progressed.

"Can I keep you… Will you be mine?"

Well worth a read if you are looking for something light and fluffy, plenty of sex to keep the potential sugar coma in check, and lots of likeable secondary characters to give the story-line some depth as well.

This is a voluntary review of a complimentary copy of the book.

From the title alone it gave me an infatuated vibe. The blurb made me feel warm and fuzzy, with me wanting to know what's next. Sometimes a kiss is not just a kiss, it can spark something more. Many great songs have been written about kisses and this had same feel of fuzzy and warmth, giddy and smitten. I enjoyed Melanie's previous book and I was excited to get a chance to read this.

Avery is described as unique in look, shy and introverted. Meeting sexy and charming vet Daniel came as a surprise. They had that spark from that one kiss, that somehow turned into more. While I may be a skeptic of the insta-love there are times I think it can happen, I suppose like they say when you know you know. Here that is quite evident with them, just a feeling of certainty and something different than anything. Daniel was quite swoony and tender, aside from being genuinely caring vet. Avery became more open as the story goes along, her giving and warm nature is appealing. The nickname Sprite (not the soda) fits her.

This was a lighthearted, bubbly fun, sweet , feel good read that made me smile and feel the couple's infectious affection towards one another. An overall delightful story with enjoyable characters. It has a beachy or vacation read feel to it that's perfect to relax with if your in the mood for a sweet, feel good, low angst book. The epilogue made it feel complete and really the best part of it.

** ARC RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

** 5 sugary sweet stars **

If you are in the market for a sweet, sexy, low angst book, this story is for you.

Daniel and Avery were perfect for each other. The story had no angst or unnecessary drama. It was simply a telling of their love story. After reading so many overly angsty stories, I kept waiting for something dramatic to happen. I was so thankful when it didn't. It was a refreshing, light and I loved it.

-Sexy confident hero
-sweet, quirky heroine
-instalove - virtually from page 1 they were completely smitten with each other
-zero pushing away
-no cheating
-no OW/OM drama whatsoever
-epic epilogue. That kind of epilogue will spoil you! As a epilogue lover, I was truly impressed.

Is love at first kiss possible? Avery and Daniel meet in a behavioral study which requires the participants to kiss a stranger. Both are a bit awkward and shy and neither is participating in the study out of a willingness to do so. However, with a single kiss...

"Our lives had just changed - we both felt it, knew it. There was no going back now - and neither of us wanted to."

Swoon.

Their kiss is hot. Sexy and melt-the-pages-hot. It is a kiss that blows them both away, and leaves them questioning everything they thought they knew about love.

"One kiss changed my life. Dibs on the rest of yours."

Avery and Daniel are adorably sweet together. What I adored about this book is that it is a heart-warming story about love, how it can happen in an instant, and how it doesn't have to make sense. Even better? There is no drawn out story line involving a ridiculous and out of place conflict the couple needs to overcome. The story did not need it, and I am so glad one wasn't inserted. Although Avery and Daniel's relationship moves quickly, the truth is- when it is right, you just know it. And when it is right, who can say what an "appropriate" amount of time is when it comes to love and building a life with someone?

A feel-good, must-read!

It Started with a Kiss is my first Melanie Moreland read and I absolutely feel in love with it from the start. It is a sexy contemporary romance that I did not want to walk away from. The characters grabbed me from the beginning and I wished I could have held on to them longer.

In this story we have beautiful shy Avery Conner who is asked by her best friend to participate in a social experiment "kissing a stranger" even though this is totally something Avery would never do, she can't say no. Will she be able to walk away from the man whose lips left a lasting impression?

This is when the term "Damn Daniel" should be used, Dr. Daniel Stewart sends a smile to my face just typing his name. Seriously, I can't think beyond walls, the door of a car, any hard surface and not get weak in the knees when it comes to this doctor. He is everything you want in a man and more. One taste of Avery's kiss is all it takes and he has lost his mind and he is determined to prove to Avery that she does not have to look any further than the man standing right in front of her.

If you are looking for a heartfelt romance that leaves you swooning, smiling and falling in love then It Started with a Kiss is for you. I give it 5 heart palpitation stars!!!

This was my third book by Melanie Moreland, and I think I can say safely say that she's my go to author when I need something light, heartwarming and wildly romantic! I'm going through a really intense chick lit phase and this book fit the bill perfectly.

Avery Connor, is a shy accountant who is terribly in need of a new relationship, so when she meets Daniel for the first time he seems to be just the guy she's been waiting for. Their explosive attraction and the mind numbing kisses they share further cements the fact.

What follows is a whirl wind romance, yes there's insta-love, yes at times you feel that what's happening is too good to be true, but I was completely swept away by this story and for the duration of the book all that mattered to me was Daniel and Avery regardless of how fairytale-like their story was.

I smiled the entire time I was reading it, it tugged at my heartstrings and that alone tells me what a great book it was! I'd say this book is the perfect pick me up for a cold day! I still have that warm fuzzy feeling in my chest.

“Can I keep you, Avery Connor? Will you be mine?”
“Please.”
His smile was brighter than the sun in mid-July. “Good answer.”

It Started With A Kiss was unique, funny and touching story of how two strangers lives changed after just one kiss.
Avery hasn't had sex in forever and is very skeptical about love. She isn't convinced that love at first sight exists until an experiment she agrees to participate in for a friend leads her to Daniel.
Daniel is to be her kissing partner for the experiment, and is smitten from the start. How does he convince her to take a leap of faith and trust the chemistry they felt during that kiss?
It's sweet and sexy with some slices of laughter
Will they break apart or find their happy ever after?
Although this may have been my first read by this author, it will not be my last. I loved the story, the characters , and the writing flowed perfectly. Kudos to you Melanie Moreland!

Sometimes you just want to lose yourself in something lovely. Something that sparks with heat and fun, flirty banter. Something that won’t necessarily turn your world upside down, but will for sure leave you with a happy heart and a great big smile.

That’s what It Started With a Kiss was for me.

It’s lighter than Ms. Moreland’s previous offerings – but luckily for me, I like a light read now and then. And , in fact, I loved the heck out of Avery and Daniel. They’re completely adorable together and 100% likeable on their own. They’re sexy as all-get-out and just so much fun to read. Theirs is the kind of romance you get lost in, like a fantasy. It won’t tie you up in knots or make you grit your teeth with anxiety. The angst level is low – but the swoon level is very high and I, for one, loved it to bits.

Every bit. Including (or maybe especially) that amazing epilogue. I’m starting to think that epilogues are Ms. Moreland’s signature move. She nails them – knocks them right out of the park – and I am still working on wiping this goofy smile off my face.

Imagine, your best friend asks you to kiss a stranger. What do you do? Yell and tell her she's crazy? Agree and hope they guy is at least good looking? Run away and change your name?

Avery was asked to kiss a stranger for a social experiment video, where she is lucky to be paired with hottie Daniel. What starts as a quick kiss for the video soon turns into a passionate meeting of lips, tongues, and souls.

Avery and Daniel met and became everything to each other, and it all started with a kiss.

I love Melanie's storytelling style. She always creates characters that are easy to relate to, fall in love with and root for. I love the easy going romance between Avery and Daniel, their relationship is what other couples look for.

I'm glad that I was able to find my own Daniel. Melanie's books always make me look at my own marriage and I'm reminded how lucky I am.

This book was funny, romantic, and more. It started with a kiss, and it did a hot, steamy, out of control kiss. Who knew one kiss could change your whole life. Avery agrees to help a friend and Daniel lost a bet. Avery has never had much luck in the relationship department. She doesn’t have a whole lot of confidence and doesn’t think she is anything special. Daniel wants her to see herself the way he sees her. He brings out her self-confidence and makes her feel special, loved. They have an insta love. When you know you know. They just fit together. I really loved this book. It made me laugh and feel. This book does move pretty quickly but it doesn’t feel rushed. It is a feel good book with a hint of heat. I really liked the epilogue. This is the first book I have read by Melanie and it won’t be the last. Congratulations on another great book Melanie. I look forward to reading more books by Melanie.

I absolutely fell in love with Avery and Daniel. From the very first moment they met you just knew that what they'd have would be explosive. I was blown away when Ms. Moreland mixed up the heated sensuality of her characters along with the sweetness. This book was incredibly well-written and kept me enthralled throughout its adventure. My favorite part came at the very end however, during the "Daddy" dates. There's nothing more endearing and sweeter than seeing a man with his daughter. Overall, if this hasn't convinced you to pick this up for a quick afternoon read, let me just say that you can bet your pretty bottom that I will definitely be reading more of Melanie Moreland's written treasures.

Omg this book was beautiful, prefect and I seriously just want more. I devoured it all in one sitting and was not putting it down until I got to the last page.

The story of Avery and Daniel was so friggen sweet, from there first meeting there chemisty was electrifying, to there first kiss that started there whole life together. There sweet words and love at  first sight.

I can seriously go on and on about how sweet this book is but you need to read it, i feel all giddy inside from all the different emotions I feel. And those last few chapters... prefect additions..

Melanie Moreland wrote one of my favorite books, so I had high hopes for this one. The introduction intrigued me. Unfortunately the beginning of the book is the best part. The book was too insta-love, too predictable. I skimmed through a lot of it because it failed to hold my interest. The hero is too perfect (has a gym in his home, works out every morning so has a great body, supposedly to be able to lift his patients, even though he is the small animal vet)? The heroine is too weak, we hear virtually nothing about her career and interests.

Yes, it started with a kiss. A hot, passionate kiss between strangers that sealed their destiny together. It is not how Avery and Daniel wanted to spend their day but neither will want to forget it.

Instalove can be difficult to connect with but it so worked here. Love comes in many different shapes and sizes and love at first sight is just one of those. Whilst their relationship moved quickly, it was done in a thoughtful way but it needed to move speedily to counteract Avery's insecurities. There was a sweetness and spice to this that pulled you in and had wanting it to work between them. I came away from reading this feeling happy and satisfied as well as in love with these characters.

Avery and Daniel are so cute together! They were adorable to the outside world but hot and steamy behind closed doors. I wouldn't call it insta-love. It was more like instant attraction that led quickly to love.

The epilogue was amazing. I've never read an epilogue quite like this one. I don't want to give too much away, but it was nice seeing how their live together progressed.

This was my first book by Melanie Moreland but won't be my last!

Loved this book. It was recommended by a friend a while ago and I was glad it was on Kindle Unlimited. Its a cute soul mate story. Not everything is perfect in this fairy tale, they are like real people. They do have their ups and downs, with some learning about each other. They both do some growing up. But if you want a fun and romantic story, give it a try.

The story line is very well thought out and characters are well developed. The story ran at a great pace, not to fast or slow but just right. I would recommend this to others and will reread again.

I smiled the entire time I read this one! Seriously the sweetest story I've read in the longest time. This was the perfect love story from beginning to end.

Who would of thought that a bet would of landed you your soulmate? Daniel never would of guessed that losing a bet to his sister would have him meeting Avery. The magic between these two was instant and magical.

This is my first book by Author Melanie Moreland and I'll make sure this isn't the last! The title tells it all; wonderful love story!

It Started With a Kiss is a wonderful, amazing sweet and steamy romance with awesome characters, Daniel and Avery. Both are taking part in a behavioral experiment for different reasons, Daniel lost a bet to his sister and Avery is there as a favor to a friend. Neither one expected their undeniable chemistry and immediate attraction to each other. This story is a light, humorous read with little drama. I laughed, smiled and couldn't put it down. It is an endearing story that I will be rereading again and again. I've read all of Melanie Moreland's book and each one is amazing in it's right. It is hard to pick a favorite from her books but this one is high up on the list. I would recommend her books to anyone. Two thumbs up.

Let me start with the good. The beginning was genius in terms of introducing Avery and Daniel as well as their relationships with their friends and family. I loved the way they met and how hot their first kiss was. Dating would be so much easier if we could just jump to the first kiss. Especially if it led to meeting your soulmate like these two were lucky enough to do. I loved both of the characters. They had depth and strength of character, their relationship was sweet if not a bit syrupy, and there wasn't much angst. I liked their playfulness and honesty with each other. Everything just seemed so easy between them. Daniel was probably the most loving character that I've ever read. He knew all the right things to say to make you swoon. And his dirty talk was sexy! Finally, the epilogue was all kinds of wonderful. I loved how the author took us into the future to show how their lives went from that first kiss to their happily ever after.

All that being said, I'm not sure I really bought into the instant obsession and comfortableness they found with each other all in one day. And that's what it felt like to me, obsession. They literally couldn't stop making out and having sex against and on every surface. I needed more meat to their story. At one point, I started losing interest in it. Most days, I have a hard time separating myself from a book. I found myself taking lots of breaks and skimming through some of the sex scenes and never-ending descriptions about their feelings for each other. It felt redundant and too fanciful for the short amount of time they knew each other. If you haven't guessed, I'm not a huge fan of insta-love stories. I really wanted to love this book.

Sometimes we all need an uplifting story with a male character that is too good to be true.

Sometimes you just want an instant gratification - instant love type of story. And It Started with a Kiss is that wrapped with a pretty bow.

Melanie's latest story is a fast paced, fun read. Two strangers brought together to participate in a kiss. As participants in a social experiment, Avery Connor and Dr. Daniel Spencer have been paired up to kiss each other. Their encounter will be recorded. What neither one is aware of, they had previous met...just outside the studio and were instantly taken by the other.

This is a fun loving story. Sweet and over the top at times, but fun to read none the less.

She is modern, witty and so romantic.
Her newest book "It started with a kiss" is a delightful, sexy, romantic and lovely story of Daniel and Avery.
She is an accountant and he is a veterinarian, they met by chance and it unfolds a lovely love story.

You can read the best romantic books every day, but none will have such a detailed epilogue as Melanie has written. I am in awe of this author and how she brought a love at first sight (KISS) really, to a whole new level, not only telling you the love story of Daniel and Sprite, and their happily ever after, but takes on the extended version of each of their triplets.
Beautifully written.

Sweet, swoony, beautiful, heartfelt contemporary romance worth of a Hallmark movie. A delightful read with an enjoyable setting and a different take on love at first sight.
I absolutely love Melanie Moreland and her writing. The Contract is one of my favorite books of 2016 and though It Started With A Kiss isn’t anything like that book, I loved every moment of it. Avery and Daniel take part of a kiss-a-stranger experiment. How odd? Everything has to start somewhere… Ms. Moreland crafted a great romance for us to treasure.

This is a sweet story of finding love in unexpected places. I really enjoyed the characters and how realistic they are portrayed. I really enjoyed getting to know them. The story was fast paced and had me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I received a copy of this book from the author, my review has been voluntarily submitted.

This sweet love at first sight is beyond wonderful. Sometimes, amongst all the books with complicated storylines, twists, betrayals, misunderstandings etc, there comes a book about simply loving and falling in love, where it’s uncomplicated & just right. When you burn and the guy burns and you admit it. No subterfuge, no dissembling. It’s powerful and beautiful and scary and real ... mostly real. I still burn like this for my love 24 years later, he had me at first kiss as well. I highly recommend it, specially to the skeptic and disillusioned.

This book was sickly sweet. Daniel and Avery move very very fast. There was an innocence about how they met and when they kissed, sparks fly big time. Normally I'm not a huge fan of insta-love but I think it works for these two. The sweetness meter is off the charts. I mean Daniel is a good looking vet. His whole world becomes Avery. I found myself swooning so many times during this book. It's so good, I'm glad I got to read it.

This was a really sweet story of insta-love between Avery and Daniel. Along with Avery, I kept waiting to see what was wrong with Daniel. Why did this perfect man not have a wife already? He was such a great guy and I fell for him along with Avery. I loved watching them fall head over heals for each other and never looked back. This was a sweet read.

Beautifully fantastic! If the kiss is not right, the man might not be either. Great writing. Moreland's descriptive writing lands you right in the middle of the story. You cheer for each action and sigh over the emotion. Ms. Moreland takes this book 20 steps further and let's us see behind closed doors. The epilogue is our bonus plus Three! Happy Reading!

Sometimes I just want a light, sweet and sappy book. This was an insta-love at unique first meeting. We get to witness their HEA relationship. Also, loved the Epilogue what a treat! This is my first Melanie Moreland book and I gave it a try since it was on KU. So happy to discover her work!

Avery Connor is a shy and introverted girl who loves to care for her friends and neighbors. Big at heart, she agrees to do a favor for her wild best friend Beth and kiss a complete stranger.
Dr. Daniel Spencer lost a bet to his sister and finds himself in the impossible position of kissing some random woman as payment, but he always honors his bets.
Neither of them expects what happens when their lips meet.
This was my first read by this author and the story is one of insta-love gone HEA which I knew from reading the blurb. It is a cute story carried with a lot of funny remarks, but it’s a whirlwind romance that, IMO, could have been done in a shorter story. When I started reading, I expected there would be some kind of angst to it, but unfortunately, there isn’t any and I felt the whole story bland. This book is an explosion in a cupcake factory sweet and, though it has a few moments of drama, it was not enough for my particular taste.
It’s still a pretty story with steamy sex scenes and, depending on your taste, it might be good enough for you.

This story had me from the beginning. I loved the warmth and the true love I felt from Daniel and Avery. This a true love story that could be my own.

How love can change a person so completely. It’s a story to be read by both genders.
