Probably so far THE BEST James Rollins book partially due to it's subject matter of science, covert Christian background and of course action and intrigue. Thanks once again Dr. Rollins for a wonderfully exciting book.

yet another great story line. I have read several of his novels and they always provide a non-stop adventure, full of twists to the end. Awesome characters make you feel like it's someone you know and can relate to.

Science mixed with real life places. I love all the books in this series. It is possibly the best series of books that I've read. I can't get enough and I have to keep going until I run out of books and then I'll wait impatiently until the next one comes out.
An Agent Pendergast Novel (Agent Pendergast Series 7) :: The Berlin Deception (ages 17 and up) :: An Agent Pendergast Novel (Agent Pendergast Series Book 11) :: A mindblowing conspiracy thriller (Myles Munro Action Thriller Series) :: The first adventure thriller in the Sigma series (Sigma Force Novels)

The Sigma Force novels are great. Lots of mystery and intrigue with historical and biblical references. There is also a bit of romance and human relationships, but just the right amount. I've already started the next one in the series.

I had read this book last year and thoroughly enjoyed. I thought it was a one hit wonder, not even bothering to look up the author, it was the title and front cover words that made me pick up the book. Ignorance is not bliss if James Rollins name is attached to the story. A year later I 'discovered' him, and have the entire Sigma Force series, three times each, and I'm still picking up things i missed the previous reads. I highly recommend Map of Bones.

These are definitely stand alone books but still the characters new and old are much appreciated in each story written by James Rollins. He has kept me intrigued throughout the Sigma Force novels. Great Reading for all!!

I like his stories but some areas giving background of an object or event is sometimes too long and bordering on boring thus taking away the flow of action.
I have some of his later books and it's nice to find out how his characters developed.

James Rollins again comes through with a very entertaining and addicting story. I find his books very hard to put down. Whether they are accurate or not does not concern me, especially since he does not claim that everything in them is historically correct. They keep me interested and are always a good read that I would recommend to any of my friends.

I discovered James Rollins about two months ago and discovered this series. After reading one I ordered all of the other books in the Sigma Force series. Each one stands on its own in both content and style. I have introduced the series to several other individuals who just like me....end up fighting with the clock at 1:00 AM to just read one more chapter and saying to yourself that you can certainly survive on only 5 hours of sleep tomorrow.......

My feelings about this book are mixed. It was fast paced, I never lost interest, and there were unexpected twists. Some characters were both good and bad, instead of every character being either lily white or evil. The trouble I had with this book is that the main characters appeared to be bulletproof. And explosive proof, and fire proof, etc. So they would face a situation with no possible way out, and then they would escape unscathed, over and over again, with a couple of injury exceptions. This book takes death defying to all new levels. Read the first twenty or thirty pages, and if you enjoy them, keep reading. If you don't, lay the book aside before you invest any more time in it. In my opinion, the book is solidly three stars.

This book has the perfect blending of believable characters and intrigue. While there is science, it is explained in such a way that it is very understandable. I definitely recommend this book, and look forward to reading more by Mister Rollins. This one was a read in one sitting if you can!

Having read all of James Rollins' novels, Map of Bones comes off as a verbose attempt to justify Rollins' intense research into Catholic ritual, history, and dogma. While the basic military action of the story captures the reader's interest, the novel bogs down in the author's attempt to display his research in a clumsy, didactic fashion. If you've ever heard Tim McCarver literally ruin a World Series telecast with irrelvant, decades old minutia, then you'll appreciate how James Rollins should have reduced the history lessons and simply got on with the novel's action, especially as it leads to the climax.

These books are close enough to real life to make them believable. There attachment to semi-real problems makes them even more entertaining. The characters do almost super human things, but if you have some Special Forces training, they have believability. At any rate, they (including this one) make for fast paced, action packed reading. I have read most of them and find each one I have read to be very entertaining. For those who find the exploits beyond belief, catch up on modern physics, modern weaponry, and such things as the Navy Seals getting Bin Laden. With that background, believability becomes more toward the realistic.

Over the top unbelievable page turner that was almost impossible to put down. I read a sigma book later in the series, and liked this one better before all their personal lives became all intertwined.

This is very reminiscent of a Dan Brown book, but the action just never stops. And, no-one is trustworthy. I like when there is a bit of true historical usage and I take the time to look it up. Amazing.
