Okay, man this audiobook was so sappy, kumbaya, I felt like I was getting a sick stomach. I thought maybe there would be some grit or a really good plot deviation towards the end but no, it was another everybody loves everybody scene. I don't know if I didn't like this book because I'm a bitter old woman who doesn't believe in storybook romances or if it's because I'm a realist, but this book was definitely not my favorite.

The narration was good.

Lovely, sweet book. Logan Mathews had a sad childhood, son of a billionaire but ignored by his father. All he had were expectations of how he was supposed to behave and spent his life in boarding schools. Clare was a widow, having lost her husband to cancer. When they met, she turned his sad life to hope, and her daughter Maddie brought him to happiness. He fell really hard for the happy little girl. The story is of their love with a few pitfalls, not a lot of angst and a lot of sweetness.

Could you love again if you husband or wife died? This story is about newfound love after Clare loses her husband after a battle with cancer. He leaves her a letter titled simply "When you're ready" Logan is a trauma doctor who she meets after taking her daughter Maddie to the ER after falling down and becoming ill with a concussion. Find out how both Clare and Logan learn to love and how it's a rocky path but really love does conquer all.

This is a wonderful and heartwarming contemporary romance. I won't go into more detail of the book description than the one given. I will say that I loved Clare's story that went thru heartbreaking times and was a strong enough woman that helped her go thru them. Dr. Logan Mathews had his own baggage to deal with. It took Clare and her four year old daughter Maddie to come into his life and turn it up side down. He found he could love and be loved. Leah, Clare's bff made me laugh. This story made me laugh and it made me cry. It is a book I HIGHLY recommend.

When You're Ready has a predictable plot. A single mother of a 4-year old girl meets a rich, handsome doctor in the emergency room and sparks fly. She is overly protective of her little girl as her husband died of a brain tumor a couple of years before. She has a hard time moving on and the doctor also has unresolved issues, but they eventually get together. It needs editing, which again takes away from the lovely story. I would recommend it for romance lovers.

This was a wonderful book that definitely pulled at my heartstrings. There were some editing issues, but the story was just so good that I could overlook them and give it a full 5 stars. It definitely didn't go the way I was expecting it to, which was a breath of fresh air. Logan is now a new BBF for me. Clare is such a strong woman, her character couldn't have been written any better. Little Maddie....well she stole the show and gave me plenty of laugh out loud moments that just made the story soar. I definitely recommend this read to everyone. Now I'm off to read about Leah!!!!

This book had everything you could want including a hot as heck doctor & a strong lead heroine. It made me laugh, cry (that letter about killed me) and fall in love with these great characters. I loved watching Clare find her way through her grief and begin to live again and fine that second chance love that she and Maddie deserved. She still kept the memory of Ethan around which was very bittersweet. Logan was such an amazing guy and seeing his cold heart melt with those two was amazing. I would definitely read this again and I am more then excited for Leah story :)

I bought this book yesterday and finished it this afternoon. Loved going through Clare's journey to find love again after losing her husband Ethan to cancer. And what can I say about Logan, he is SCHMEXY and HOT!!! And the scenes of him with little Maddie, you can just feel him falling in love with her and her mother. And...spoiler ahead...when the author throws that curveball in near the end, you want to start yelling "NO!", she can't do this to them when they were about to have their HEA! But no worries, there is a HEA in sight for Clare and Logan. This is an awesome book, I would highly recommend it! I am looking forward to the next book about Clare's BFF Leah.

Bought this book and planned to read it while traveling. Decided to crack it open while enjoying a lazy bath prior to my trip...didn't put it down until I finished two hours later. Was so engrossed in the story that I didn't hear my daughter walk into the bathroom to show me some new flip flops that she bought. She startled me so badly that I dropped the book in the water...I was right in the middle of reading one of the real juicy parts! LOL! Great book! Loved the characters and can't wait for the sequel! Just let my best friend borrow my copy...curled pages and all.

This is such a wonderful story that I totally recommend. Clare a young widow and single mom met a handsome and sexy doctor in the E.R. of all places. Mattie to me in this story as the innocent and beautiful little girl she is saw a handsome man she intentionally chose for her mama. Since she did not know her father it seems she fell for the good doctor. Mom, Clare also fell for him and him her at the first sight in the hospital that day even though she smelled of vomit. The story develops and you get to see and understand the back story for both characters. Pick it up, you'll enjoy.

Ok, so I'm still crying while writing this review. Happy tears!! Sweet, sweet love story. Also funny and charming. Loved this book. Loved the characters and storyline. You will love this book. Discovered another author that I like.

What a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Great read! The aching story of loss, survival, and second chances. Clare and Maddy have suffered thru losing their husband/father Ethan. They survive and it seems get a second chance. Logan has a rough history, loses his heart, but will that be enough?

This is another book that will make you believe in second love. Claire and Logan healed each other when they needed it the most. My eyes leaked through a lot of this story, some goodness so just have your tissues handy.

After reading the first few pages, I couldn't stop reading this story. The two main characters, Logan and Clare, each had their own emotional hurdles to get over before they found their own HEA.

A dysfunctional family, a marriage that never should have happened, the loss of a beloved spouse and a precocious little four year brings Logan and Clare paths together. You feel their intense emotions as they fall in love while struggling to let go of their individual pasts.

Will it be on my re-read list? Yes!

A beautiful story of love, loss, and learning to live again. A wonderful debut novel J.L. Berg, I look forward to reading Leah's story, Never Been Ready. Thank you for such a complete story.... NO Cliffhanger! :)

Wish this story was developed more. She is a young widow, he is an E.R. Doctor. They meet at the hospital where he takes care of her sick daughter. He was divorced but they were drawn to each other. I find many of these type books have too much "fill in" sex and less story.

This was an emotional love story. A man who thinks he can't love, and a woman and her daughter who need love from someone who has plenty to give. Well we found out what Logan was made of. The characters where likable and the plot was good. The chemistry was hot and Maddy was precious. Well worth reading.

Enjoyable read. Ms Berg certainly brought the reader a story the included humor, love, sadness, anxiety and did I mention love? Her character development was extremely good. Only issue I had was my personal feeling that there was a bit too much sadness...I rarely finish a book left wondering if there really was a Happily Ever After for these two. I would have liked an epilogue that was reassuring. I realize that could only happen if this book was meant to be a stand alone and not a series.

This book has everything a book should have it makes you want to cry laugh and love when I first look at this book I didn't no if it was something I would want to read cause it sounded like Clare was having a hard time moving on from the death of her late husband and I didn't want to read about a women who couldn't make up her mind because of guilt BUT that isn't what this book is like I'm sooooo happy I got this book loved it and can't wait for the next story in this series GREAT BOOK

I enjoyed this book and her writing. She develops the characters well. Although it took me some time to get into the plot of the story, I enjoyed the ease with which the characters developed and the way they developed made sense. An easy read, and it tackles some difficult issues of life and moving on. I would recommend this book.

I read and enjoy many books but few stir emotions in me. I knew I had to write a review. I didn't want to see the book end. I became involved in the characters lives and wanted it to continue. J.L. Berg's first novel is exceptional! I laughed, cried and rooted for them all the way through the book. It is a must read. I am ready for More. Looking forward to J.L. Berg's next book. I will definitely add her to my favorite author's list.When You're Ready.

I loved the storyline about finding love after tragedy. Five stars is the only rating this book can have, ignore the others, you will be glad you did.

This was incredibly well written! I'm not a huge fan of first person stories because they're very difficult to write well but JL Berg did an outstanding job. The characters had depth, there are real world challenges, there was family complexity and a very HEA. Don't miss this gem. Ms. Berg is now one of my new favorites!

Really enjoyed this standalone love story of second chances. Full of passion and heartbreak. She's one of my favorite authors and I love books that give the two main character point of view. More fulfilling to me. Can't when to read the other in the series.

I love the unique way these characters found each other and how they made each other grow. This is a page turner full of heart, love, sexiness and family. Seriously, it's delicious - I want a Logan for myself!

But this novel, in my opinion, should come with a warning! Make sure you have a box of Kleenex handy, because it will touch your soul. Very well written and flows easy. Cannot wait for the second book to come out! Highly, highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!

Life had dealt Clare a hard hand. Losing her husband to cancer. Making her a single mom. Then Logan came into their lives. Again life threatens.

It is a beautiful love story. I laughed I cried. I loved this book.

Great love story. There are no guarantees in life or love, Clare and Logan's love story was proof of that. I enjoyed the story. There was no major suspense really, but the story kept my interest. If you like romance, I'd recommend it.
