Damned fine read. Spoiler alert.

This one starts with Eric Winston and Mark Rosner. They have been planning for months. What they have been planning needs twelve people. They only have eleven. They will have to find one more if they don't the board will not be happy.

Will Honeycutt is a Portland Firefighter. He wasn't on duty but a fire at an orphanage was something he knew he had to help with. He went into the burning building and saved four kids. He became a hero.

Will in 6'4" and is great shape. He's an expert at ti quo do. He's also a peaceful guy but a guy who will defend himself and do what it takes to survive.

Heath Honeycutt is Will's older brother. Heath is 65" and a surgeon at a local hospital. Will invites him to attend a ceremony where he will be honored by the people who run that orphanage. Heath has a ball game to attend but tells Will he will meet him at the address Will gives him. Neither have any idea what they are about to endure.

So begins one damned fine read.

This one has Will, Heath, a woman named Kelly, an assortment of ten other people who are fighters, a beautiful mansion where it all takes place, an FBI agent named Mike Manus, his team, a man named Kelly Mandrake who is the infiltrator, a man who won't survive, a man who leaves a clue, six marines led by Stone who are also with Manus and his FBI team, hundreds who attend the get together at the mansion, hundreds who will bet betting millions on the outcome, the guards Winston has hired, a maze where the fights take place, winners, losers, partners, a Manus who finally figures out who is in charge and where its all going down, the marines who make the break in, death and Will and Heath Honeycutt doing what it takes to figure it out, stay alive and survive.

Five Stars. Super read.

I admire these stories immensely, but the same problem arises in every one. There clearly has been no last edit made. There are great numbers of errors, the kind we writers make when we edit, but don't catch the surrounding words. I find 25 or 30 of those per book. Breaks my heart when the writing is strong and the stories powerful.

Was hooked from the get go in this Dustin Stevens book , had to see where it was heading. Can't discuss storyline or would ruin it. Only thing I can say is recommend it for guys, even though I finished it.

I loved this book! The author grabs your attention from the moment you flip open the first page. I instantly fell in love with the strong brother duo and couldn't help but cheer them on throughout the entire story. The descriptions of the secretive life of an international drug ring allowed me to imagine the inner workings of such a world without the risk of actually being there. It was transforming! If you want a captivating, can't put it down book, Twelve is for you. I've read many of Dustin's books and although his newer work is amazing( highly encourage everyone to read Krokodil) I love that I can go back and read his earlier work and still be at awe with the story.

Not one of Dustin's most original plot ideas. Felt like it might have needed a prequel to set the stage for this one. I liked the brothers and the Marines but many of the characters come at you fast and furiously (literally ). An easy afternoon read.

I though th story line was unique.... The suspense erupted with each page.....Characters were believable .......would love to see this in a movie, Tom Cruise, Matt Damon......!

Dustin Stevens keep that writing beacon shinning bright!

As another reviewer said, the description really didn't give enough info or I wouldn't have gotten the book. Actually, I could have sworn I read it before, but realized, nope, just another stupid fight club story
Soooooooooo I can't give a complete review because I quit reading after about 4 chapters

This is not only for Twelve. I have read numerous of your books and have been delighted with all of them. I really like the flow of your writing, the way it keeps my attention, the way it all ties together. I put you up there with John Sanford, Patricia Cornwell, Jeffrey deaver and many more. I am a big fan. Thank you for what you do.

Definitely a thrilling adventure. Two brothers on a seemingly innocent night out wind up in a life and death struggle. Having to rely on each other to survive. A thrilling adventure that is well worth reading. Enjoy!

This was great. I connected with the characters quickly. Fast moving. I only read 30-45 min a night prior to bed and had a hard time putting it down. Fun read, nothing too intense to follow. Greatly recommend.

For me how quickly the story progressed seemed a bit unrealistic and the antagonists felt two dimensional for me to really get into the story. It was okay, I just won't be rereading it for a long time,if ever.

Twelve puts an original spin on "the single American overcomes all odds to win the fight tournament" plot line. It's been done more in movies than books and this version is different enough to stand apart from the rest. It is also much better than the rest. Well worth the read.
