Ish (Creatrilogy)

I love this author! Peter Reynolds has a great way of writing stories about art that help encourage children's creativity and love of art. It is a great way to foster a love of creating art in young children. Peter Reynolds also helps to teach children through his stories to have confidence in their ability to create.

I liked this book a lot, but my granddaughters,ages 4,5,7 &9, found it boring. They sat through it once, but have turned it down every time I've suggested it since. They loved " I ain't gonna paint no more!"

What a wonderful, light hearted book! I had never read a book by this author before. I ordered it because my first born is a perfectionist; and has a really hard with art and drawing. It was recommended by a blogger I follow, so I decided to give it a try. It changed the atmosphere when we do drawing! My oldest no longer gets frustrated with art, but allows himself to make "mistakes" and just enjoy drawing now. This truly changed the art time of our homeschool from frustrating to enjoyable. I can't wait to get more books by this author.
