An average guy receives a phone call saying that for 2 million dollars his wife will be returned to him. This is by far the best Koontz book I have read. The pace never lets up. I liked the main character, Mitch very much. The twists and turns kept me reading even when I had other things to do. Thankfully, the silliness that has crept into some of Koontz's recent books was not in evidence here. There is quite a bit of violence and gore, which might not be for every reader. This is a very exciting page-turner.

This book grabbed my attention right from the beginning, and had so many absolutely unexpected plot twists and turns that I felt like I was on a roller coaster! I couldn't put it down until I had finished reading it.

(The only part I didn't like was the name he used for one very wealthy criminal master mind.)

I always enjoy Dean Kootz's writing and this book kept me hooked tot he end. Lots of surprising twists and the story is fast paced.

A really good read, with characters you like, as well as some you really hope will come to a sticky end.

too hard to read
hard to stay focused (author used too much description of the environment which prolonged the central plot of the story, etc.)
hard to stay with it and complete the book without putting it down for a period of time

Gripping reading, but the story seems to get lost towards the end, and has a disapointing finish. Still enjoyed it, but wouldn've been nice to have another twist rather than the usual predictable ending...

i thought this book was pretty good. although, I typically enjoy all of his Dean Koontz' books, except for maybe one or two. This was was a page turner for the most part with a few surprises. A bit creepy, but that is normal for him.

The book itself is everything I was hoping for, Dean Koontz is a great author. I was a little dissapointed by the quality of the book when I received it. I believe I bought this as a 'like new' condition, however I do not believe it deserves that title. It's not that bad but wasn't what I was expecting.

The first three-quarters of the book is outstanding. I was hoping for an amazing ending and basically, like many other novels, it was a quick rap up without a lot of creativity to it. It seemed like Koontz got a little lazy when it came to the ending.

Oh well, onto the next read.
