Obviously a quick read, and therefore somewhat devoid of Koontz' usual elaborately rich prose. But the story line is good and the characters classic. Clearly a preview to something new, we just have to wait and see ...

Vivid is the only way I can describe this novella. Besides keeping you guessing, the portrayal is in your face more vivid than real life. The characters are believable, yet vividly portrayed even the villain.

Fascinating characters and action packed from the beginning. Great short read! Love the way Koontz sets up a plot where the main characters are against all odds. A story that is really hard to put down!

This was too short but good. Makani is interesting and I would like to know more about her. Pogo seems like a pretty nice young man. Bob is a keeper. I am looking forward to the next novella, Final Hour.

Dean Koontz has the ability to create well defined, sometimes bizarre characters on either side of the moral ledger; which helps any story be more engaging. This novella draws you in quickly as it swiftly moves along to a fitting end.

I always enjoy Koontz' writing, and this book was no exception. He pulls you in quickly with a good story and believable likeable characters. His usual wicked twist is displayed, and of course the dog has a significant role. Not a memorable work, but a worthwhile short story read.

Some of the the best characters Dean Koonz has come up with so far (including Odd Thomas) This book was fast paced and grabbed you right from the start! I hope to read more about these characters soon!
