I enjoyed this book very much, the historic elements added a sense of reality, which I found thought provoking. The only negative for me was that the three main characters were a bit to perfect which I found irritating. A great storyline though.

Koontz delivers again with a story that spans four decades. I can't say much more without spoiling the other, except to say that it is quite a changeup from Koontz's other works...which, according to his afterword, is exactly what he had in mind.

I was disappointed. The plot was not believable. Character development was too super human. If it had been future based the fantasies would have been easier to accept. I was glad when I finally finished reading it.

I really enjoyed this particular novel. Sometimes Koontz tends to crank out books like Stephen King - factory style. In this case, while the plot is not necessarily a new one, it does have an interesting twist and I do like the ending. But it is anything new, just well written.

Taut, suspenseful story with Science Fiction tones. Loved the characters and the futuristic theme. Koontz is one of the best (other than Stephen King) writers of our time. If you love being mesmerized and surprised, you'll love it.

What a ride this Koontz book was! Crazy plots and an unusual hero & heroines! I encourage you to read this in the early evening rather than at bedtime as it's very hard to put down. Koontz shares a family dynamic that is refreshing and inspirational

This suspense thriller is one of my favourites! Dean Koontz is a brilliant writer, who can draw the reader completely into the story. He also doesn't' 'dumb-down' to the reader, like other writers do by over simplifying details. Koontz invites the reader to think outside the box, and I am never disappointed. 5 Stars!

I purchased this book along with others to help with my young granddaughters fear of seeing dark sky's and the sight and sound of lightning and thunder. She has read all the books and now is dealing much better with her weather fears

I enjoy Mr. KOONTZ's books. I wish sometimes that he wouldn't use $50 words when a $5 one will do. I'll be reading along, really getting immersed in the story, and he'll throw in a fancy word....and I stumble, losing momentum, and it takes awhile to get my stride back.

Love this book. Started with watchers and then this one. The main characters are really well written. I like tht Laura is such a strong child then woman. I miss this kinda of writing from dean koontz in his later books especially innocence - horrible book. I've read lightening and watchers more times than I can remember and some of his others at least twice.

Koontz never disappoints. An excellent twist on the usual time travel novels. Recommend this book highly, thoroughly enjoyed it. Have purchased it several times in paperback versions - at least I can avoid lending the ebook!

I usually prefer fiction closer to life but I read this book because my mom recommended it. She read it many years ago and it stuck in her mind as a very fun read. She was right! I throughly enjoyed myself.

This sciFi novel grabbed my attention early on then lost it toward the end. The concept of time travel and the paradoxes created by jumping back and forth in time were novel and interesting. However, the premise of the novel was stretched beyond beliveability, the love interest lacked development and the ending was a bit frenetic. I felt trapped in a Saturday afternoon Buck Rogers serial from the 1950s. That said, Dean Koontz's writing style tyically captures and holds my attention.

I thought that I had read every Dean Koontz novel, however I somehow missed this
So glad I found it in my Kindle. Read it in a day and a half. Yet another "side" of Dean ! I recommend this book to any person with wonder and imagination.

Suspenseful, action-packed, and well-written. Mr. Koontz does it again with Lightning. I have read most of the books by this author and he has yet to disappoint. Lightning will keep you turning the pages even as you are falling asleep from exhaustion just so you can see what happens next!

Was pleasantly taken by the book immediately.
Caught up into a tale of lives and circumstances that resonate within all of us.
Yes, heartbreak, suspense, and humor
along the journey. Determination and love also. That's how to take life wouldn't you agree?

Even though this book covers 34 years of the main character's life, it never drags, nor does it leave you wondering what happened in certain in-between times. It is edge-of-your-seat suspense, fanciful yet believable science fiction, delightful humor, touching emotion and heroic action all rolled into a singularly empowering story of courage, endurance, and the strength of the human heart.

I thought I had read everything Koontz had written, but somehow I missed this one until I saw it on the Kindle list. Although it was originally published over 20 years ago, it still reads fresh, with interesting ideas on paradox and history. Loved it.
