This and its parent book "Talent Code" really give you an in-depth look at what it takes to create a winning team or school. It will open your mind with ideas to performance and what it takes to make champions. Whether you are a sports team, music school or some other type of competition based business this book is awesome!!!

Although Coyle's book is "little", it's packed with great suggestions and research on being better at whatever you want to do. Looking forward to going back through it and growing more! Thanks, Daniel!

This book has a way of conveying messages briefly and powerfully so that short statements and analogies are absorbed without mucking up your mind with wasted words. Our family is truly appreciating the perspective and clarity on how to emulate the best and achieve success.

Our junior high kids are reading it along with us.

Lots of practical tips based on how to focus your time in learning a new skill. The downside is you have to work hard. The upside is you can optimize how much time it takes to learn things if you do it right.

I read (or heard rather, through audible) The Talent Code, by the same author, which was awesome! I bought this book because I expected it to be great, and I wasn't wrong. Many of the tips are common sense, but because we are distracted by so many things around us, I believe we forget or become blind to the simple things. Great book! Thanks for writing it!

Great ideals and methods, trying to use the ones that can be applied to my life, which are plenty and plenty are already in use. Just one of those great self improvement / motivation / achievement book

If you have already been interested and are familiar with the concepts of ultra/meta learning and have previously read books like "So Good They Can't Ignore You" , "The Talent Code", and/or "5 Elements of Effective Thinking", then this book will be of huge value in understanding how to apply the concepts in practice.

If you haven't, then you may not quite get the full value. In my opinion, the book is too concise to fully grasp why he's telling you what he's telling you without the expanded insight provided by the books mentioned above.

If at one point in your life you contemplated that you just don't have enough talent and considered settling for average, this book paired with one or more of the books mentioned above just might get you excited about overachieving in life again.

Coyle has done the research, and has allowed for us to go on a journey with him in his 1st book on the subject of neuroplasticity The Talent Code. In T.L.B.O.T he helps us find more way's to unlock our true potential with some insightful tip's we can transfer to the subject material we want to apply it to.

A thoughtful book with lots of good ideas. Although I doubt that the authors statistics and conclusions are as accurate as he states them. I took that as a touch of humor just to make it fun to read.

Daniel Coyle's book has on target information for anyone who would like to improve their skill level in a multitude of areas. I loved it because it is having an immediate impact on my golf game. This book would be a fabulous tool for anyone who coaches an athletics team.

Great book. Short, specific, and actionable. I bought it on Audible and then bought a hard copy so it would be easy to refer to. It is helpful for myself but also in teaching my daughters school work, piano, etc.

Beginning was good but then too much detail in later chapters about yoga, websites etc. too little written about how to learn in adeep and practical way.
Amendment: after reading the chapter about playing an instrument I would give the book 4 stars!

Coyle consolidates a wealth of practice/learning/training tips and knowledge into this "little book." He covers an exceptional amount of content in very succinctly. If you are a student of cognitive studies and training breakthrough theories and successful coaching practices, this book will synthesize much of what you've read or learned. If not, it may stimulate you into further investigatory reading.

For anyone in the coaching field or considering coaching, (even the volunteer parent who is the assistant to the assistant head coach) this book should be a standard primer for you. It will help you help your young athletes progress farther and faster.
