Excellent story and writer is superb. Only criticism that I have is no one proofed the kindle version. Although words meet the spell checker they are either improper or our of verb sequence. It is rather annoying in the Kindle version.

Enjoyed how well the story was developed. Operational details, technology, and the strategy of tank unit warfare described made the story a very realistic, plausible and most importantly a worthwhile read. Disappointing were the several notable grammatical errors that were not corrected prior to publication; better proofreading would have helped.

While the story itself is great, the way in which it is formatted onto the Kindle is odd. There are numerous grammatical errors but it was still fairly easy to decipher the original intent. Coyle did a great job of being technical without making the experience boring. The character development was also excellent, it was interesting to view numerous angles from the Americans and their families as well as the OPFOR.

This is a compelling read. I read the original edition and the demand to keep on reading into the night is still there. Unfortunately this needs a good editor to go over it beyond spellcheck. This was irritating over the course of the story.

Moved along well. I am a qualified armored officer but from about 14 years prior to events described. The tactics appeared realistic as did the wearing down of front-line personnel. The reader wants things to work out as it is written in English.

This is an excellent war novel. The action starts early and continues. The characters are believable, the weapon systems are accurate and the flow of the story is excellent. The battle maps show Coyle's understanding of what he writes about.

I liked it, it really was accurate from a mechanized soldier's perspective regarding field ops and maneuver, it could've used some editing as it did have a lot of typos and grammatical errors. No biggie, I still enjoyed reading it.

This is the second book I have recently purchased that is so poorly edited it is actually difficult to read. This is a technical problem that is squarely on Kindle and not the author. Kindle needs to do a better job!

A great story about what could have possibly happened in the late 1980's. The discriptions of the violence and confusion of war are totally realistic.

The only thing that was disappointing was the condition of the book. The bookseller indicated the book has a few flaws and the dust cover had a few minor tears. The pages had several coffee stains, the spine was severely broken and the dustcover had several major tears.

I read this book in 1985 after which Harold Coyle became a favorite author. This e-reader was so poorly transcribed from print to e-book that there were two to four typographical errors or incorrect words per page. A tremendous book spoiled by third world transcription. With current scanning technology there is no excuse.

Story was compelling and delivered at an exciting pace. The troops of Team Yankee, their equipment and mannerisms, delightfully reminded me of my time in The Army in the late '80s. The frequency of grammatical errors, misspellings and typos, however, was distracting.

A detailed and generally accurate account of tank warfare but the transcription of this book on to kindle has resulted in some awful (and sometimes hilarious) miss use of words (past instead of pass etc) If I was the author I would be extremely annoyed at the store for such a sloppy job.

MR. Coyle's early books are all interesting, well written page turners that show his knowledge of millitary subjects, the men and women who serve and A compact writing style that doesn't waste words generating filler. I have read Team Yankee several times and thoroughly enjoy it. Can't wait for the rest of his work to be released on the store.

This review applies only to the new "Revised and Expanded" hardcover edition. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this very poorly proofed and edited book. I really like Coyle as a writer and story teller. His writing has an air of authenticity that only comes from having been there and done that. However, he should be truly embarrassed by having his name associated with such a shoddy product. The text gives the appearance of having been dictated to a computer using voice recognition software that was not quite up to the task, and was certainly never checked for errors. The text is replete with; missing words, words which make no sense in the context of their usage (they frequently do sound similar to a word which would have made sense), improper tense verbs, repeated words and sentences, improper grammar and punctuation. All once again proving that spellcheck is not a substitute for competent editing and proofreading. This might be a "Revised and Expanded" edition of Coyle's classic, but it most definitely is not an improvement on the original.

Coyle is unsurpassed when it comes to descriptions of armored combat. Sometimes it seems the smell of cordite is actually wafting off his pages as he thoroughly engages my imagination. Team Yankee is a treat for the mind's eye. The tracks are all tightly cinched.

Good story about a possible ww3 scenario. Focuses on the company level and covers a short period of time. Written during the Reagan era changes in the US Army it has hallmarks that would be unfamiliar to people not familiar with the end of the hollow force era of the US Army.

Read this book years ago as a civilian and wanted to read it again after serving in the 11th ACR (the speedbump at the Fulda Gap)in Fulda Germany in the early 90's and multiple deployments in Iraq. It was a good read then, and a good read after experiencing a 20 year Army career. Read the book.
