Bad Kitty, Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Bad Kitty written by Nick Bruel is a very funny book about how Bad Kitty's birthday turns out to be just another wild day for her. She did not want to get out of bed to have her birthday party until she finds out there will be cake and presents. But she did not get the presents she wanted or like the cake. My favorite part was when all the cats chased the puppy and hung him up like a pinata because they thought he stole all of Bad Kitty's presents! Bad Kitty and her friends remind me of my three cats!! They each have their own ways and the book teaches lots of cool things about cats like why they sleep so much and scratch things up. I also like the funny pictures in the book.

My daughter is 7 and absolutely dreads reading. We decided to check out various chapter books while browsing a book store. My daughter came upon Happy Birthday Bad Kitty. She loves reading this book and is planning on getting more as soon as she is finished the last couple chapters of this book. I completely recommend this book for readers who are not thrilled with reading and who are just beginning chapter books.

As a parent review, I love this book because it is not too simplistic where it bored my child yet it is a bit more difficult than the non-chapter books. Highly recommended!

I borrowed this book from the library and hated to give it back! It was so funny and had lots of educational tidbits about cats. We laughed out loud through most of the book and was fun comparing Bad Kitty's personality to our own cat. My seven year old really loved it and was cooperative going to bed cause it meant I would read this to her. I will most likely end up purchasing this as well as the Bad Kitty books geared towards younger children, as I have a preschooler as well.
