Wish I had that book when I was teaching Kindergarten. It's a great book for kids as the other reviewers can attest. It's also a reminder for adults that there are reasons behind a child's behavior. It's just wonderful that our hero, David, came up with his own solutions. The website references were helpful. It is fun, entertaining, humerous and insightful for everyone. Loved it.

I love this book, because like my daughter, he can't seem to stay still In class. After brainstorming and figuring out what makes him get an attack of the wiggle fidgets, he finds a solution that works for everyone. I certainly enjoyed reading this book to my Lille wiggle fidgets girl.

My daughter loved this book. I would recommend any child to read this. She read it in a really short time and it held her interest. She doesn't like to read and I really have to find different books that she loves and she loved this book.
The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Dick - Philip K. (2012) :: Girl at War: A Novel :: The Tiger's Wife: A Novel :: Adultery: A novel (Vintage International) :: The Complete Aromatherapy and Essential Oils Handbook for Everyday Wellness

While the author tried to address the "Wiggle Fidgets" in a fun creative way, the use of the word "cure" is offensive and sends the message that our children need to be cured - that they are ill. Smacks in the face of acceptance. I had bought this for my 9 year old with ADHD to let him see there are others that face the same challenges and find ways to help him address his fidgets in different situations, but I will not read this to him or let him read something that makes him think he needs to be cured or that he is in some way damaged.

I absolutely love this book!..even better yet, my 7 year old son loves this book. He has asked for the rest of the series for Christmas and brought it in to school to share with his class. He said that maybe if more kids read it they can understand kids with ADHD like him. He even did a reading of it at a family get together.
Great book! I am buying a copy for his teacher too.

My opinion as a preschool teacher is that this book has way too many words to keep a child interested. It is more of a book for a teacher to read and gain understanding of how children view their own behavior. However, the book arrived in excellent condition and was shipped expediently. No problems at all.

Though the illustrations inside the book are OK, the cover photo looks like it was blown-up from a small image and it looks unprofessional.

The content can be helpful for kids, but the message of a "cure" is off-putting. Compared to other kids' books on the same topic of ADHD, it seems to present less meaningful strategies. Wording is tedious to read not only for kids, but also for adults.

"The best parents are great teachers... Leading their children to mastery." -Dr. Hallowell

"Wiggle Fidgets" teaches the value of self mastery. A great resource for teaching my 2 toddler sons the same.

Disability awareness and acceptance are common traits of successful students and adults with AD/HD. Along with therapists and SPED teachers, parents play a critical role in helping children understand and cope with their disabilities. Be sure to recommend these resources to your friends and your child’s teachers.

Here are other superb books for children and teens with AD/HD. For children who are not being read to, it’s important that parents read the book also and start an ongoing conversation.

This story is another entry in the Adventures of Everyday Geniuses. David struggles to pay attention in school, and his actions are constantly causing the teacher to stop the class and redirect him. After he overhears his parents talking about his "wiggle fidgets", he brainstorms ways to help him control them. The story is relatable to kids who have trouble focusing, and the strategies that David comes up with can easily be implemented in school or at home. The illustrations are great at showing David's struggles to focus. There are a lot of lessons in the story, both for kids who have trouble focusing, and the rest of their classmates.

I just got this book from the library tonight. It is WONDERFUL! My daughter is only 4 and in the process of being tested for ADHD. Reading this book makes me even more confident in our decision to have her evaluated. It is cute, funny, and so easy to relate to. I am also a teacher and will be using this book in the classroom as well as at home with my own little wiggly-fidgeter!

My son has sensory processing disorder and it really speaks to him. He was so excited that someone else wiggles just like him. The author did such an excellent job writing about this - i am at a loss for words. :) I highly recommend for SPD or ADHD/ ADD kids as well as typical kids to show that everyone is different in thier own way.
