Bound by Duty (Bound Series Book 1)

Too many authors give the entire story to the reader, turning them into an objective observer as the main character struggles to find out what the reader already knows. Stormy chooses not to give it away - rather she draws the reader into the characters world and makes you work for the back story - masterfully putting you through the same range of emotions as Ame and thus allowing you to become much more invested in Ame's world! I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the sequel! A warning to those just buying the book - don't start chapter 18 unless you have time to finish reading the book...you aren't going to want to put it down!

I kept wondering g when something was actually going to happen. It felt drawn out and repetitive. Finally in the last 30% of the book it got interesting. But not interesting enough for me to buy the second book.

I chose this rating for several reasons. The story was so well told, I could picture in my head every little detail, people, places, smells etc. I was also very impressed that the sexual parts left a lot to the imagination though the love of Asian and Amelia can be felt so strongly. I could not put this book down. The emotions of all the characters affected me in all the ways they were suppose to.

Great book! Lots of great characters, conflict, and connections. Can't wait to read the next book. You really feel for the losses everyone has suffered and can't help hoping change is coming. Who is the prophecy about and how will she ever get free?

This fantasy is an exciting trek of an unaware supernatural young lady. It is an exciting story of love an disappointment. It is hard to put it down. Unfortunately the story is incomplete, leading to a second book.

From the very beginning, Stormy deeply connects you with the characters and keeps you guessing where it will go. So many times I thought I figured out what was coming next, only to find out I was very wrong and was even more thrilled with the outcome. Fantasy isn't always my first choice, but there was the perfect blend of fantasy and reality to keep the story easy to relate to (i.e. the relationships, college drama, parental issues, crisis at a young age, etc.). Highly recommend this book and can't wait to see where the characters go in the 2nd book!

"Bound by Duty" by Stormy Smith was another great book that I was hooked into the suspense of the story and when the ending arrived...I went straight into the store to purchase the next book. Great storyline!

This book is definitely great for fantasy readers. The perfect mix of reality and magic, this book takes you to a world you feel must really exist and leaves you hoping for a particular outcome. I can't wait to read book 2.

This author has a beautiful way with words. I felt the sand,I smelled the salt air. I felt her confussion. The characters were well developed. It was a good fantasy read.Kind of wish it had more sex in it

I absolutely loved it! I read alot and most books take awhile to catch my attention but this book, this series grabbed me right away and kept me on my toes. Amelia has to balance between trying for a regular life and her Elder duty, which she knows close to nothing about. The story was amazing and definitely something I would recommend to all.
