I love these stories, characters, and family dysfunction! What will aunt Tillie do next? When will Bay and Landon marry? Who is chief Terry going to choose if he chooses? What trouble is brewing on the horizon?

My adoration for this author is endless. She never runs out of ideas to build a story. In this book, Aunt Tillie intends to produce and sell her wine without going through the legal system. Since Landon is an FBI agent, he threatens Aunt Tillie about her illicit plan. Bay agrees with Landon, and so her Mom, Aunts, and cousins. Aunt Tillie is stubborn and a powerful witch. So of course, she casts a spell on them. When they've awakened from a night rest, they are in the traditional children fairy tales fulfilling a role. I love the Cinderella story since It is about Landon and Bay. Another good read.

As anyone who has read the reviews of the previous 7 Wicked Witches of the Midwest series may attest, I love this series. There are ups, there are downs, but I always enjoy them. From the characters to the humor, and the clever mystery elements to the simple bits of magic that doesn't overwhelm the story, I have voraciously read this series. When I saw this book I was intrigued. It felt like the perfect way to have a less than serious adventure for our witchy scooby squad, and it was. But, it was also too long. Don't misunderstand, I would - and probably will- read this again, but it dragged. It felt like the author kept coming up with great ideas only to not edit out the story to make sure the narrative flow was smooth. That's where it lost me.
Aside from the feeling of drag near the latter middle of the book, everything made me smile. Everything kept me engaged and reading.
Was it fun? Yes. Was it needed? No. Does it detract from the series? Most definitely not. I will keep reading and enjoying.
While a fun read not one I can wholeheartedly recommend. definitely not a place to start from, that's for sure.

This was a short story used to enrich the characters in the Midwest Series and to give the reader a chance to know them better. Written as a sort of warped fairy tale written by the almighty Aunt Tilly, the entire family as well as future family to be , i.e... boyfriends, get magically get sent into a skewed version of Tillys Faith tale book that she had written for the three cousins when they were small. Only by remembering some of the special tidbits of wisdom their aunt had insisted on adding were Bay and the gang able to move from tale to tale until she believed that they had learned the lessons she deemed necessary that they were finally released.to awaken in their own beds. The fact that they were actually gone for thirty-six hours makes one wonder what Aunt Tillys had been up to without supervision! You'll have to read to know. Although a bit more fluffy, no murders to solve, this book still had the Merritt of giving everyone the chance to spend time with the much amusing Winchester family.

I love your books and your sarcastic characters and I can't wait to read more. What I read in your notes???? where u apologized for yourself because "not everyone likes that type of thing". (The wit of the characters and the hilarious aunt tillie who keeps the whole family hopping) Hun. U have a talent...books of all types are read by all types. Your doing it right and doing it well...don't you ever apologize for YOUR style of writing..your brand of humor. Embrace it and own it. I love these characters and aunt Tillie is a hoot. I can actually picture dinners at this inn. When I'm reading and smiling and my husband looks over and asks "is that one of those sexy books". Lol. Nope..I do love a good erotic read but it's refreshing to have a paranormal romance without sex on every page. I'm just one of many but Im a big fan :)
I really wish you would write faster ;) hurry up woman!!!

I really enjoyed the other books in this series. Bay is a good heroine and Landan is dreamy. The dynamic between Bay, Thistle & Clove is funny & well written. Reading along as the girls have found their significant others has been nice & the rest of the family is laugh out loud funny too.

However, this book was just plain disturbing. I got to chap 15 & had to stop. Aunt Tillie was never downright, truly evil or irredeemable to the family she supposedly loves. That is until this book & it was a HUGE turnoff.

Any comic relief the author was going for was spoiled by the plot device of Tillie throwing a temper tantrum & taking it out on her family.

Tillie's terrible antics, until this book, had been directed at the true villain in the books. But for the author to have the character turn on her own family like that over something as trivial as selling her wine illegally was not a good idea.

I don't know if I will be reading any more of this authors work or not. Why invest in the characters if she's going to turn them into truly evil, unsympathetic, one dimensional caricature's?

I guess the author wanted to expand her talents by having her regular cast of characters end up in a book of fairy tales. She obviously gave it some thought and tried to make it interesting but it just didn't work.
The story alternated between being boring and being too complicated. The pacing was off throughout.
On a related note, the constant references to bacon have really gotten old and tired and annoying!

A wonderful book to sit and enjoy. The characters are funny at so many unexpected times during their adventures that "Aunt Tilly" sent them on; I found myself laughing out loud or giggling (which is something I never thought I would say about myself or do in public).

Aunt Tillie surely has her own unique twists on fairy tales. I loved this book! The whole concept of living out fairy tales is genius. The twists on each tale are so great. I really enjoyed reading through each tale to figure out what was going to happen next since you knew it wouldn't be what happened in the normal versions of the fairy tales. This book really helps you get to know the characters a lot better. This is a must read if you're reading the series.

I love Amanda Lee's snark and sarcasm! This series is well written, easy going fun and a great read when I'm missing my sibs or just need a "comfort" book. There are lots of family dynamics that many will recognize ( but may not admit to) as well as familiar sibling language along the "you are not the boss of me" vein ( which I still hear when we get together and we are in our 50's!)
Silly well written fun. Keep writing Amanda, you are what I need when life gets a bit too serious.

The story is a free standing light, entertaining read. A family of witches learn some basic lessons about themselves when an aunt sends them into a book that demands working together, bringing forth their best selves to resolve problems and issues. It had a certain amount of predictability to it.
Personally, I like my fiction to be purposeful and fun.

Holy crap it was like every other page Landon was calling Bay sweetie. Which I'm almost positive is the first time he has called her that in this entire series. I usually don't mind the author's writing style, it is a little juvenile but I really like the story line. It just really annoyed me that she started this 'sweetie' thing. And she uses 'nonplussed' A LOT.
I will more than likely continue to read her books but I hope I don't see 'sweetie' so much!

Amanda Lee is one of the most entertaining story tellers I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. Her books are very well written and I can't wait to read her next adventure in what ever series venue she chooses to focus on. I wish I could get on a mailing list to let me know when her next books come out (don't use FB).

Too much fun, another great fun read. But for realzies Aunt Tillie is dead to me. Just kidding maybe she can get a face full of dirt or maybe Kenneth can pressure her for sex a lot till she gives in. Thanks again for a great fun read on to the next.

My adoration for the Winchester Witches have no end and this one's no different. Aunt Tillie plans to sell her wine business in a bigger scale and Landon are determined to put a stop to it. Aunt Tillie are not having any of it though. There is a lesson to be learn here therefore Bay, Landon, Thistle & Clove found themselves in Aunt Tillie's very own Fairytale book. This was a fun read although the fairytale was a bit long. Landon's bacon analogy was also a bit much which got to a point it no longer brought a smile on my face. Overall it was humorous as always.

I love this entire series, from the full length books to the short stories. It is not necessary to read them in order, but it is helpful. If you want to just read one of the short stories to get a feel for the writing, that would be OK, and this would be a good one to read. Be aware that this story takes place outside of the norm for the rest of the books and stories. The books and stories take place in a small town in Michigan, while most of this story takes place in a magical fairy land. The writing and character development are very good.
