A solid book on managing your mindset and expectations. Don't accept less than you are worth and work to your dreams.

It's a good solid read for those ready to take control of their lives and be more intentional in their actions.

This book contains so much wisdom! I am reading it a second time after just finishing it the other day. Bob Proctor is the grandpa I never had! Already I'm seeing changes in my life for the better due to applying his suggestions in this book.

Yes, "You Were Born Rich" does provide ways in which we can change our thinking to create more physical wealth in our lives; however, Bob Proctor also provides a superb transition from some of the earlier books on the power of thought & the Law of Attraction, written by some of the pioneers in the genre; people like Prentice Mulford, James Allen, Robert Collier etc. by adding some of his personal wisdom and a modern perspective. This is to say that the principles you will read about in "You Were born Rich" are ancient and timeless, the grammar and the context used by some of the earlier authors in this genre can be a little dated; whereas, Bob Proctor's book puts it into context for the modern era.

Originally released in the 1980's, long before the recent resurgence in Law of Attraction literature, "You Were Born Rich" can re-ignite our divine spark by reminding us that we all have an immense power within us - the power of thought.

Bob Proctor reminds us that, "Through the years, history has recorded the results of great visionaries. In fact, everything ever accomplished was at first, and for a time, nothing more than an image held in the mind of the architect. Realize, now, that you too are the `mental architect' of your own destiny" and if we aren't happy with our current reality we have to start by changing our thoughts, "If you sincerely wish to change or improve your results in your physical world, you must change your thoughts and you must change them immediately."

Furthermore, as the wise have cautioned throughout history, we are forewarned about the negative effects of fear, "A mind `saturated' with fear of failure or images of unwanted results, can no more accomplish, create, or produce anything of value, than a stone can violate the law of gravity by flying upwards in the air;" and this eventually leads us to the concept that "...we hold on to old ideas and old things, because we lack faith in our ability to obtain new ideas and new things. This of course, leads to a condition of insecurity, which stems, at its root, from an inability to understand who, and what, you are. And, a lack of awareness of your true relationship with the infinite power will always leave you with a distorted image of yourself."

Of course, being aware that we have power and being aware of those things that can drain our power make up only a small part of the material, the largest portion of "You Were Born Rich" is dedicated to how we can reclaim, and make use of, our inherent power. Although there is far more information in the book than I can include here, some of the significant discussions center around the power of: visualization, expectation and the subconscious mind. Essentially, "any idea, plan or purpose may be planted in the subconscious mind by repetition of thought empowered by faith and expectancy."

And, speaking of repetition of thought, the ideas in this book will only work when we understand the material at a deep level, not just at the surface, intellectual level, so it may require more than one read to get the full benefit. Thankfully, Bob Proctor has made this a very readable book and readers will likely enjoy the information regardless of how many times they read it: I know I will.

Overall fantastic series, if you're ready for it and open to it.
It's an interesting story how I even found this course. It had been sitting up in a room that I had access to, left by the previous tenant, for three years. Completely unopened, still in it's plastic seal (guess the previous tenant had bought it but did nothing with it).
Then complete turmoil happened in my life, and suddenly I'm up in that room being guided to look through the box of books and viola! There it is. I didn't even know who Proctor was before I saw 'The Secret' DVD and even then I didn't realize he had been in the self help business long before 'The Secret'.
Started listening to it, and I thought if I had found it sooner, it may not have resonated with me like it does now, because I may not have been ready for it.
I've been through several self help seminars over the years, read a lot of books on the subject too (well not nearly as many as Proctor), and this was the only one that truly made sense to me. It covered the major reason we do or don't do things, the mind and its conditioning, and our self image (how we see ourselves, what we think of ourselves, how we talk to ourselves, etc.). Proctor talks about in the series, among many other things, that if we have goals, but our Self Image contradicts the goals, no matter how much we try, we will be forever automatically correcting ourselves (based on our Self Image) not to achieve those goals.
I didn't read the book, but I did go through the six DVD's (taken from a live seminar, or at least those are the ones I have) and redid some of the course through the CD's. It covers so much information it's one of those things I'll be reusing a lot! A great tool! I'd highly recommend it! I might just be giving this course to all my friends for the Holidays.
If you can't get the seminar (though you can on Bob Proctor's website), definitely get the book!

This seminar has basically become a classic in the personal development field and for good reason. It has excellent material. Full of thoughts, quotes, stories, real-life examples and exercises to get you moving towards the fulfillment of your potential. I recommend watching the full DVD version at first to understand the examples he writes on the board; there's some important concepts that you will miss if you just listen to the audio the first time around.

Probably one of the best introductory books on the subject of self-development. Yes, it might be a little more metaphysical than the average person would appreciate, but that's probably why average people are average. You won't become extraordinary thinking like the masses. You have to envision health, wealth, and all good things well beyond what is easily seen in your present reality. This book is just a wake up call, and a bit of insight into the mechanics of how highly effective people view the world. It is not where you are right now, but your attitude and determination to move forward that will bring you where you wish to go. Best regards. -Alex

The basic premise behind this book is that thoughts affect things. In other words, what you think of in your mind has a physical effect on the outside world. Bob Proctor calls this The Law of Attraction. Bob Proctor quotes Andrew Carnegie to help illustrate this idea:

"Any idea that is held in the mind
that is either feared or revered will, begin at once
to clothe itself in the most convenient
and appropriate physical forms available."

Whether or not you believe in this law, this book is highly motivational and inspiring. This book will discuss how to set goals, develop a winning attitude, and how to develop a personality that is conducive to getting what you want.

Bob Proctor writes in a simple easy to read way, and provides many intriguing anecdotes and examples to get his point across. I highly recommend this book.

I have read The Science of Getting Rich, and Think and Grow Rich, both excellent books in their own right, however this book is just as profound, but a bit easier to grasp. It has been said that in order to truly teach a subject well, one must truly be a master of the subject. I believe this book is simple because Bob Proctor is a truly gifted teacher and a master of this subject. I first met Bob while involved in a direct sales company in Cancun, Mexico. His teachings changed my life, and this book is a profound encapsulation of his teachings. Buy it! Read it! Apply it! and Prosper.

The knowledge of Image-Making eliminates competition from your life, by moving you from the competitive plane to the creative plane. You will soon understand therefore, that in truth, the only competition you will ever have is with your own ignorance. everyone is using the Image-Making concept and everyone always has. In fact, everything that has ever come into your life has come as a direct result of the Image-Making process. Therefore, if you will only become aware of the results which you have obtained, you will realize you have already employed this great mental tool. Just take a look at the results most people obtain. Generally speaking, you could say it is quite obvious that when they make use of their Image-Making ability, they almost always use it the wrong way.

This book is a very interesting read and the stuff Bob talks about really works! You have to put it into practice & to do this effectively you need to read the book several times and underline key points. Use it as a tool!

I have met Bob personally and listen to his cds & watch his dvds regularly and rate his material very good & helpful. Bob is a very nice guy, unfortunately he tends to surround himself with sleazy people trying to sell you courses promising you the moon. These people that work for him do not look like or act like winners and this doesn't do him justice.

Credit to Bob is people he has mentored like Loral Langemeir (best selling author & real estate investor), Margie Aliprandi (neways International top distributor), Leslie Householder (best selling author & mom of 7 kids). I myself have been having my successes thanks to his material.

I loved this book, this book can easily change your life forever! Increase your income and help you to be more happy, healthy and full of energy.

Bob Proctor recently created a new program based on this book is the Bob Proctor Streaming Club, I recently joined for $1 (trial) [...]

Imagine having Bob's help to reach every single goal that you have... and the possibility to ask him questions about you, your goals, your fears, or anything like that...

Highly recommend!

This program is the center of Bob Proctor's teaching for the past decades and while the name has changed with the years, the substance has remained the same.

The basic foundation of this book is that there is a Creative Energy in this universe which is able to "interact" with our thoughts in order to bring to the Physical Plane what is in our Mind.

Compared to the old books, most notable The Science of Getting Rich and Think and Grow Rich which Bob acknowledges to be some of his sources, this book has been written in a colloquial manner, understandable by a 7th grader while, because of the style used, the reading of the older books require more time to read and understand.

But ultimately the secrets are simple and here they are:

- write down what you want to achieve as if you have already got it (new car, job, salary increase, etc)
- act AS IF you already ARE in possession of it (act as if you already got the promotion and got the salary increase)
- repeat continuously so that this information becomes TRUE to your brain (new neuroconnections built in the brain): latins used to say "repetita iuvat" (good to repeat)
- BE CERTAIN that what you want is already there as Jesus said (gospel of Thomas) "God is outside you, inside you and all around you"

This is an easy read. Offers practical theories that can be applied by anyone, anywhere and at anytime. This book was written as a road-map enabling you to reach any goal you would like to reach. Read it, review it, but do your self a favor and act upon it. (I was fortunate enough to pick up the ebook for free at [...] - now you have no excuses!) Thanks for listening. I hope you get everything you want in life!

I want to recommend this book and all the products of Bob Proctor to anyone who is interested in a better life. Ignore the comment by one reviewer here who calls Bob "just another old con man!" I can assure you, from my own personal experience, that since the day I first listened to Bob Proctor expressing his ideas on responsibility, forgiving, attitude control and goal setting, as well as believing things can be done and ignoring the so-called facts which seem to stand in your way, my life has changed enormously. I owe so many of my personal and financial/career achievements to the insights and understandings I gained from listening to Bob Proctors fabulous motivational tapes and that includes this one, You Were Born Rich. anyone who thinks Bob is just a con man is a loser, and deluding themselves into failure. I pity them, because Bob Proctor can transform anyone's life, if only they will listen with an open mind and act with an ounce of courage!
