Maggie has had an eventful life, all the hard times and sadness she has carried with her. Maggie and Wyatt deserve to share their happiness. Sky and Kyle deserve to have a wonderful life and Maggie's parents just as well deserve the best. With Maggie's experience s in her life, how she cares so much for Zoe and how she wants her to over come all the trama that happened. Bennett wanted so much to tell Maggie that he is her father but he won't because it is not his place to. I hope the Maggie will sometime enjoy her life, she makes a good cop and a blessing that she can display to others. Maggie need as much as anything to feel happiness in her life. Great book it made me cry and fill filling I probably would not have known.

With each new book in this series the plot becomes more of a soap opera and less of a suspense story. The rape of a young girl is easily solved and feels brushed aside to get back to the intrigue amongst the characters. No doubt there is more to follow in the days on the coast.

The Forgotten Coast Series is a winner and will be loved by fans of Wayne Stinnett and Randy Wayne White. If you loved John D MacDonald these books will resonate. The cast of characters quickly become people that interest you and you will want very much to renter their world as often as this remarkable author can get their stories out there.

I moved to Florida twenty years ago and felt like I was at home because of the adventures of Travis McGee. I started reading Randy Wayne White when I found a copy of Tampa Burn in a local restaurant and have been a fan ever since. Wayne Stinnett was a book bub find and his recommendation led to Dawn Lee. Thank you to you all for creating the worlds you have and putting then out there for an old photographer, musician, fisherman, golfer, and grampie to enjoy.

I am really enjoying this book series; the story line is a wonderful blend of suspense and character involvement. I was a bit bothered by the typos and incorrect spell-check words and think someone should have proof read closer. Eager for book 7.

I LOVE this series! Dawn Lee McKenna portrays the human condition with deep insight and loving care. I read the first four sometime ago, and when the store told me there is an 8th one, I went back and re-read them, and now am up to #6, and don't want the story to end! The people are so real, and the settings so vivid, it is like experiencing memories I never had before. I like to follow the locations with google maps, and it's like visiting my grandparents in Missisppi... I'm so glad Ms McKenna is adding to the series, and wish it would never end! I'll have to rerad her others, and will take her unstated recommendation to check out James Lee Burke eventually.

The untold secret is such a compelling McGuffin, and the way she develops the drama is like one's own family, I want to see who they handle it and yet understand why secrets need to be secret, until it is secret no more. I'll be reading them all, and hoping for more!

I loved a lot about this series until this book. First I guess I should admit that I hate series. I never read a series unless the complete series is out. It was my mistake, that I believed this was the end of the series. And though highly frustrated to find out that this story continues, My low review is is for mostly other reasons. Some spoiler alerts if you read further. First I am someone who can go on and on so I will try to keep this short. First I hate having something g explained to me over and over again and I guess because this is a serial the author felt it necessary. Second the whole ending with Maggie and Bedroeux ruined everything for me. Even if there was another book ready to read I would still be done. Not only did her relationship with wyatt drag on unrealistically and frustratingly, but now I can never feel the same way about maggie. There is true genius in McKenna's writing. Her characters are truly delicious and human. However having maggie make this choice does not make sense, it's not who she is, and simply felt wrong. Not because she was making a mistake but because it just did not fit for her to do this to wyatt, even though we all know it would not happen. Was this some weird ploy to give her understanding to forgive her mother later??? Just did not make sense and completely left a sour taste in my mouth. I really feel ripped off. All that time, with too much filler just not worth it. Everything was interspersed with some really genius writing. And I do mean amazing writing. Just not enough to have me invest anymore time when the beautiful characters are warped and watered down just to drag on a storyline.

I received the first book free via BookBub, then read the other 5 as part of my Kindle Unlimited. And I read them all in one week. I do love the premise of this series which kept we attached and needing to get the next book as as soon as I finished the last. The plot of each book stands alone while continuing the story of small town Sheriff Investigator Maggie Redmond, a divorced, working mom. Her love interest and boss have a decent relationship and I would have liked the author to have developed it a bit more to equal the main relationship that is between Maggie and the town millionaire / criminal. Her kids are normal kids, almost. And her parents a bit more involved and too readily available to watch the grandchildren, dog, chickens than what occurs in real life. I do believe the story line of each could be developed a bit more than they are and the endings could be more ending and less abrupt ... is that really the end? If they were printed books, I'd have looked to see if the last few pages had been ripped out. This series is akin to installments of one book rather than a full fledged independent novel. But that seems to be the trend in this new EBook generation. This review seems a bit negative, but its not. This series is well written. I just prefer there to be a bit more meat to a book than what we have here. I will patiently wait for next book in this series.

Maggie's relationship with Wyatt is getting serious, to the point that Wyatt is giving up his position as Sheriff. In the meantime, Zoe is raped and Maggie's heart is broken. Zoe was one of the kids she had coached in previous years, but unlike Maggie, Zoe is able to I'd her attacker and when he comes back, Zoe calls Maggie and the entire force is out looking for her attacker. Maggie and Zoe are at her dad's house and her attacker comes after her again. Zoe comes to Maggie's rescue when she takes a Louisville slugger to her attacker. He ends up in jail after a visit to the hospital, Maggie ends up with stiches. The only sticky part in her relationship with Wyatt is her relationship with Benton Boudreaux which even Maggie doesn't understand. But that seems to be over right at the end of this story. Can't wait to see what happens next.

If you love suspense, mystery, believable characters, and plots that cross over each like a brilliantly designed tapestry, Dawn Lee McKenna is your new go-to writer.
Start at the beginning so you don't miss a thing. This book. This part of the compelling series is absolutely my favorite book. McKenna has a sharp wit and a way of describing a storyline that puts you in the middle of the action. She will take you places, tell you secrets, make you laugh and convince you that you've known these people all your life.

Having been born, raised, and now retired to the Forgotten Coast, I had some reluctance to read yet another amateur effort at portraying its quaintness and redneck charm. I would not have ordered this series if it had not been available on Unlimited. That said, I am beyond pleased with Dawn Lee McKenna her excellent story telling skills and her honest approach to the places and people of this unique area. She avoids the cuteness of trying to be a “southern writer”, doesn’t sterotype her characters, and is (mostly) factually accurate. I read all seven of her Forbidden Coast novels and “See You”. I will read whatever else she writes because she is growing and stretching with each new work.

These Forgotten Coast Suspense books are outstanding. I have enjoyed each one. The mystery in each is well written and enjoyable but the relationships among the main characters is the real story. Cannot wait for the next development . Highly recommened series .

The people in Miss McKenna' s books are written so wonderfully that they become real. Amazingly,my Husband ( who is not a reader,he's more apt to be reading a book on computer science) has begun asking me how Maggie is doing? ! I care about her,Wyatt , the kids,Coco and Stoopid the ( in my opinion) under appreciated rooster- AND I'm half in love with BB ( the elegantly handsome town scoundrel) myself. This girl who has never read anything but,Hemingway,Faulkner,James Joyce,Dickens,Poe Steinbeck,AUSTEN and Tolstoy has a new FAVORITE AUTHOR , D.L.McKENNA !! Please, can we have more?

Maggie is a great person to watch and believe in. Fast paced, several different plots but they come to unexpected conclusions. To be honest I have never cared much for books written by the fairer sex with just a few exceptions and this writer is one of those exceptions. Looking forward to the rest of the set.

Every emotion hit me reading this drama...About 2\3 of the way in I had a laughing fit with tears! Not the only bit of humor, but absolutely the best. Suspense, trauma, and the best interweaving of all the reasons I read can be found within the pages of a Dawn Lee McKenna book! Can't put it down!!!

If you are an avid reader of romantic mystery/suspense and have not read this AMAZING 6 book series by Dawn McKenna, you are in for a real treat!! You will appreciate the slow and sweet romance between Maggie and Wyatt, in addition to scary moments, break-your-heart moments and laugh out loud humor. I read one book right after the other and I am anxiously waiting for #7!

I truly enjoyed this book, although to be honest, I haven't met one of Dawn's books that I don't. My love of reading spans many genres, but it's very unusual for this big, brawny biker to live theses kinds of books. But I do. Can't wait to start The next in the series.

I think I laughed for 10 solid minutes with tears running down my cheeks. Who is funnier, the rooster or Ms Evangeline? Great story, characters, touching, funny..what a great afternoon read but you really should start the series from the beginning, you'll be glad you did!
