I really enjoyed the characters and reading about their social customs. There living was simple and uninhibited. The story was sensual and exciting. I especially liked that the women had a voice in their culture.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Rod Redux's Oldest Living Vampire Series! In the Oldest Living Vampire Tells All, he takes us back 30,000 years to Paleolithic Germany and shows us the life, death and rebirth of Gon. Rod's take on family life, sex, and interspecies relationships was quite interesting and fun to read. The making of Gon into a vampire was a real page turner, and then the emotional turmoil of losing all that he loved was a definite tug on the heart strings. I'm pretty much hooked on this series...

I started with "The Oldest Living Vampire Tell All" and was hooked immediately. His writing keeps you turning the page. I read all three of his books in his vampire series and Mort..the zombie book in 2 weeks. I look forward to the next books in both series!!!

This book, once opened, was incredibly hard to put down. I am constantly looking for more to read about "The Vampire" and I can tell you I was severly upset when the book came to its final reading sentences. I wanted to know more about what happend to Gon after the glacier era. This book is believable in the fact no other author that I have yet to read from, has gone to depths and details of vampirism. He takes you back 30,000 years when he was just a young boy in his tribe. Back then the Saber toothed cats were still roaming the lands and other intelligent species besides humans were still living. One would have to read this book to understand. If anyone out there is one who is always searching for answers and evidece (if you will) that vampires are real, this is a great book to read. The way the author talks to you in the book, draws you in. He asks questions to you, to make you understand and realize that vampirism isn't fancy and glory like Hollywood shows it to be. I need more from this author! This book is incredible!

Absolutely horrifying in every way, but the writing makes up for everything that disgusted me while I was reading.

"Graphic" doesn't even begin to describe it. Yet because the language flowed so beautifully and was so captivating in and of itself, I couldn't put the book down, despite how shocking so much of the content was.

If you're relatively open-minded and adore reading an author who clearly takes his or her time to choose the perfect word and care about the way language flows... this book is a definite do-not-miss.

I've been reading horror fiction my whole life and my favorite subject is Vampires. This book is certainly an interesting variation on the theme! There is more sex in it than I think is necessary to tell a good story, but it certainly didn't keep me from enjoying the book. It was written as if it was being published in segments in a magazine.. I was disappointed when the book ended, there is so much more to tell!

while I hate to demean anyone's efforts esp someone's creative talents, reading this book was a total waste of time - it dragged, threw in bits & pieces which had little relevance & as another reviewer put it 'Jean Auel's clan of the cave bears with the vampire thrown in'.

I'm terribly sorry Rod as I've been taught 'if u have nothing good to say, don't say anything' but as an avid reader who appreciates those who take the time to give a meaningful review, I really hate those who say 'A must read, I can't put it down, etc' or 'Don't waste yr money, dadada' but tells almost nothing about the subject matter to let someone decide whether it's worthwhile to get a book.

I loved this kindle excerpt, loved it! But that was it! There was no rest of the book! I couldn't believe it just stopped softer three chapters with nowhere else to go! Why did I give it five stars then? Because the first three chapters are so worth reading!

The most important thing to know about this book is that it is NOT a vampire book. The fact that the narrator is a vampire is completely irrelevant to the story. If you are looking for a book that builds a world of vampires and darkness this is not the novel for you. If you are looking for a book about prehistoric sexcapades, then your in luck.

Now i must admit I did not hate this book. The premise was intriguing enough and the writing good enough that I slogged through pointlessly graphic sex scenes to see how it ends but it ultimately went no where interesting.

I really enjoyed this, it gripped me from beginning to end. Anyone who enjoys Anne Rice's Lestat stories will find this a great read. Right now I am looking very much forward to the next one and hope we won't have to wait to long, can't wait to find out what happens next!

I expected a little more (although I'm not really sure why) and I was disappointed. Weak and watery like bad coffee. Just a silly pretense and the plot line, such as it was, followed the silliness. Didn't even bother to finish it.
