I always enjoy Peter Decker/Lazarus books and did this one. I really didn't think it was as good as some of her previous book, so I gave it a good instead of an excellent. I still will be looking forward to her next book, which seems to have some of the same characters as this book.

Love reading this series.
Even though Rina and Peter are older and semi-retired, excitement and adventure are still following them, plus Marge and Scott are brought into the picture!
This was a great mystery that kept me guessing right up to the very end.
Would highly recommend it.

This book brought Peter Decker and his wife to the east coast. New site descriptions made the book more intere4sting. AlthoughI did miss Dunn and Olliver the new3 kid was a treat.
\I also missed Gabe.
The story was great and the background stories of the artifacts was most informative. .
I just hope this isn't her last Decker/Lazarus book.

Up to expectations!! I have read each one of the Decker/Lazarus books and have not been disappointed by any. Faye Kellerman is one of my favorite authors. I hope to read more of Peter and Rina, their family and to learn about the latest young man they have helped "grow up".

Book was just ok. Took me forever to read because the plot was simple, but made into something complicated. Ended strangely!!
I normally love reading Faye Kellerman books, but the last 2 were not very good.

The latest Faye Kellerman book. it takes place in New York, Boston, and a small town north of New York City. Her protagonist has now retired from the LAPD, and works in my small town police force. Needless to say the case is very big with international elements.

Another well written book by Faye Kellerman. I love all the complicated characters which weave in and out of the story. Once again her book is hard to put down. Mostly I enjoy following the lives of Decker and Rina.

Faye Kellerman is a consistently good writer and story-teller. Decker and Rina have retired from LAPD and moved to upstate NY where Decker is helping cats and little ladies. Inevitably adventures crops up including a tour-de-force of aspects of the NYC art world.

It has all the characters Ms. Kellerman has caused the reader to love, a new irritant for Rina to save, but it is not wholly coordinated. All the parts are there but it does not become whole. I enjoyed it but felt loosely knit plot features not well blended. Not her beat.

I am a great fan of Faye Kellerman especially the Lazarus/Decker series. But this one was a little hard to keep up with all the Russian
input and art objects. Glad to get update on the blended family though.

As always, Faye Kellerman has written another page turner. In Murder 101, Peter Decker has "semi-retired" to a small town in upstate New York, where the only things happening are due to the presence of several colleges. His "retirement job" is as a cop on the small town police department. At first, Peter runs into what appears to be a petty theft situation, which leads to an art theft ring and then, of course multiple murders. The small town police captain quickly realizes he is over his head and must defer to the 30 years of experience in homicide in Los Angeles that give Decker the know-how to pursue the killers and close the case. Peter is partnered by a young, rich kid just out of Harvard who is a cocky know-it-all and who has had virtually no training as a cop. With the help of Peter's wife, Rina, who really helps them see all sides of this increasingly complex case, and further aided by Peter's now-retired former employee and friend, Scott Oliver, the complicated truth of this case begins to unravel and the real villains show themselves. While this book is a bit slow to start, and gets bogged down at times in details, as is typical for both Faye and her husband, writer Jonathon Kellerman (Alex Delaware series), nevertheless the story finally grabs you and you don't want to put the book down until you finally reach the exciting conclusion. I just wish Kellerman would stop calling Rina by her first married name of Lazarus. She has been Rina Decker for over 30 years, and never refers to herself as such. No matter! A fun and worthwhile read!

A new venue for these characters. They are finding a new life in a new town far from Los Angeles and closer to New York. Introduces an interesting young man who changes through his association with this couple.

It was okay. I was kind of disappointed with the end. Also did not feel the characters as much, maybe because this is my first Decker/Lazarus novel and they are well known by the author and regular readers.

Always enjoy Faye Kellerman, and the mystery is worthy of Decker as usual. I think we're losing the intensity of the relationship between the Deckers, though. The books are always better when there is as much interest or mystery in the family as the obligatory murders.

As alway Faye Kellerman rights a great story. Yes the scene has changed and into a somewhat different setting, but still there are the suspense, but the family joy which make you keep coming back. I will be on the look out for the next book.

Ponderous, slow-moving. Not up to the author's usual standards. Copious use of annoying clichés. For example, "meet up", "change out", when "meet" or "change" would do. And this is said not by the characters, but by the author. Characters are predictable and ho-hum.

Faye Kellerman's Decker/Lazarus series continues to be a fabulous love story as well as a thrilling mystery adventure. Over the years the characters have aged and evolved. Always a good read that leaves you panting for the next in the series.

Kellerman is always interesting to read. The little nuggets of information (well researched) that teach as well as entertain are like the sprinkles on a favorite ice cream cone. And spending time with The Deckers is always pure fun.

Normally enjoy Faye Kellerman's work, this however was so tedious, so boring, so lacking in ooomph, I wish she had retired Rina and Decker. Truly dull, laborious to read, the end was just a relief. Very atypical for this author.

Totally enjoyed the new location for this story. It was great the way the former characters from LA were brought into the story in New York. Well worth reading!! Faye Kellerman is one of my favorite authors.

Another good book from Faye Kellerman. If you like her mysteries, you definitely won't be disappointed. I won't tell you any secrets, just know I stayed up late a few nights as I couldn't put it down.

Not as fascinating as other Decker/Lazarus novels because of the involvement of suspect Russian Mafia and stolen art. I did find the information about the stolen art market interesting and well written--especially the thefts during and after WWII, but the rest of the story kind of dragged on for me.

I have read everyone of Faye Kellerman books. I have found this one not up to par. I found that Ms. Kellerman skipped back and forth between her character's and I felt I had to think as to whom she was referring to.

This is a faced paced mystery. Lots of twists and turns, maybe too many characters, but necessary folks for great character development. I'm interested in reading more about the relationship between Decker and "Harvard"

This book was very good. However, I got lost occasionally with all of the characters who were sometimes referred to by their last names and sometimes by their first names. I do love all of the characters. Enjoyed it overall and can't wait for the next one.

Always look forward to the next Faye Kellerman. Well crafted story. Sometimes I am disappointed in authors who depend on their reputation to sell books. Not Kellerman. Each book is as enjoyable as the last

The change of location did not dim the precise puzzle solving of Deck and Rina. The surprising appearance of former work partners was welcome and gratifying..Hope to see more of the new characters introduced in this intriguing tale set in the East .

Enjoyed the humor in the relationship between the experienced detective and the brash Harvard grad detective wannabe. The other cops' respect for the opinions of Decker's wife were difficult to accept. Before you judge that this review was written by a sexist male let me state that I am an educated female and an advocate of women's rights but this aspect of the story did not ring true.

This is one of the better Decker/Lazarus novels with both involved in the mystery. It's also an interesting perspective now that he is retired from a large department and working in a small one - out of the city and into suburban/country setting.

I usually like Faye Kellerman's books but this one was just a recitation of events, not something that would draw me in. It felt more like a chance to show off her knowledge of some not very interesting facts.

Love the Decker series. This story though had me crossing my eyes with all the art talk, icons and to be frank boring.....skipped past all that.....All in all still a good book but not as good as the others.
