Greyson is a former Navy SEAL whose last mission was extremely difficult and resulted in his best friend and team mate’s death. To this day, he’ll never forget to look on his best friend’s wife’s face as she handed the folded flag at the funeral. She blamed him for her husband’s death and he still blames himself.
Greyson is uninterestedly at a strip club one night when this stripper takes his eye. She has a smokin’ hot body and when he gets a look at her face, he just about keels over. The stripper is Finley, his best friend’s wife. Shocked is an understatement and he makes it his mission to find out what the hell she is doing stripping and why she is not at home looking after her child.
Needing the money, Finley knows that this is the quickest way to provide for her and her daughter.
The last person in the world she expects to see if Greyson. When an obsessed customer takes things too far, Greyson is there to protect her and inserts himself into her life to provide for her.
Greyson and Finley’s relationship is a very slow building and steady one (hence the book title) and as they slowly start to put their lives back together and move on, the feelings they have for each other become very strong.
Slow & Steady is a sweet, romantic, sexy romance about forgiveness and learning to love again.
I was provided with a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Greyson is an ex-Navy SEAL with survivors guilt over losing his close friend on a mission and leaving behind a pregnant widow. He meant to keep an eye out for her and ends up kicking himself in the ass more when he sees her a year later on the floor of a strip club.
I love how tough Finley is, refusing to accept any handouts offered even though she's having a tough time. She just doesn't want to be seen as the poor widow who can't take care of her daughter by herself. And she doesn't want to accept love from Greyson out of pity or dishonor her husband's memory.
Greyson is a good example of an alpha male. With the exception of a demanding moment towards the end that I wasn't fond of, he is respectful, caring, and determined to do his duty to make sure Finley and her daughter are safe and taken care of.
There is a great twist (it's hinted at but I honestly didn't see it coming to that extent) about mid-book. At 195 pages this is a pretty short novel and I think it could have been extended and even more exciting had this conflict been lengthened a lot more. The author chose to focus solely on the couple's tense relationship, but this bit of danger would have made for a much better book. It's because of that abridged component that this is a four-quill read instead of five.

Kendall Ryan’s books are always a good angsty without being over the top read and I always get so much enjoyment out of reading them. Slow & Steady was no different. I really loved the first book in this series and was looking forward to tremendously. But every book is about a different couple, so you can definitely read all of the book in this series as standalone’s.
I liked Slow & Steady even more than the first book in this series and that might be because it is pretty much the story of a single mother and I always find that those appeal to me more than most. Watching a big macho alpha man fall in love with a child always gets me right in the feels and Greyson and Maple did an excellent job of that. It could also be that I loved it because Single Mom Finley has kind of hit rock bottom, stripping at night to support her and her daughter as a last resort. It has been rough on her since her husband passed in the military. I also could have loved it because Greyson swoops in wanting to save Finley and Maple. It really is the sweetest thing ever.
“I want to do this, Fin. Let me in, okay?”
It even had a little action and I am not talking about the kind between the sheets. This was a sexy, sweet, action packed with romance. I really enjoyed it. Definitely pick it up!

The last thing Greyson expects when he looks up to see the sensual woman dancing on stage is the green eyes that belong to the wife of his late buddy, Marcus. Greyson has a load of guilt where Marcus's death is concerned, and watching Finley on that stage does nothing to ease it.
And so begins the newest journey Greyson and Finley embark upon.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved watching Greyson move on from his guilt in the face of Marcus's wife and the child he never had the opportunity to meet. I loved watching Finley move on from the hurt of loss, in the eyes of the last man to be with her late husband. Sure, there are tense moments between these two, but the eventual love was beautiful. I enjoyed buddy Nolan's book, but this one? This one took me by surprise. The topic may be a tried and true, if slightly over-used, one but Ms. Ryan did it justice with Greyson and Finley's story. Definitely a re-reader!

Kendall Ryan is one of those authors you know you are taken care of as a reader.
Slow and steady is a very quick read about second chances, redemption and letting go.
Finley is a stubborn, young widowed mother trying to make ends meet aftere her husband died in combat.
Greyson is a former Navy Seal and always held himself responsible for the death of Finley’s husband.
When they unexpectedly cross paths again there is something inside of Greyson screaming to hold on to her.
Unfortunately is Finley not so easy to conquer and she has a hard time forgetting about the past.
So like the title says it is a love that’ll develop slow and steady with a few twists along the way.
Overall this was a pretty enjoyable read although I would have loved to see more depth and some parts less rushed.

This was another quick sexy read from Kendall Ryan.
Grey is ex Navy Seal with a past that haunts him. Fin is a woman that's a part of that past. But when Grey comes face to face with Fin after 2 years will he finally let the past go? Or will he let it continue to haunt him?
I really enjoyed the plot of this book and the characters created. Grey was sexy, demanding and had such a sweet soft side. Fin was sassy, vulnerable, and head strong.
Even thought this was a standalone the characters from Bait & Switch make an appearance.
My only issue and I'll try to be vague so as not to give anything away. Was when something happened to Fin, it came across as no big deal like just another day. I thought she would have come across as more panicked. This part of the book was lacking for me.
I can't wait for what comes next!!

Kendall Ryan is one those authors that I look forward to reading. Any time she has a new release, I’m right there waiting to get my hands on it. I am yet to be disappointed with any of her books, this one included. Once I started it, I had a very tough time putting it down. If it wasn’t for kids that insist on being fed, I would have read it straight through.
That being said, I somehow missed the first book in the series. Bait and Switch. However, that didn’t keep me from enjoying this wonderful book.
Finley has been through so much and is trying to get back on her feet. You have to admire her inner strength. This story focuses on her healing as well as Greyson’s. The build-up between these two fit the title perfect. They took things slow and things built up steadily. But when things finally come together…what a scene.
I highly recommend you pick up this book. It’s one that I’m sure everyone will enjoy.

Love, love, love the Alpha males that Kendall Ryan keeps giving us to enjoy. Greyson feels guilt for Marcus’s death and when he runs into his widow at a strip club, well, this is magnified 100 times over. How can he convince Finley to let him help her and Maple and not see it as charity? He wants to do right by his brother in arms. Of course, how does he fight the attraction he has for Finley while just being a friend and helping out. Finley’s world was turned upside down when Marcus died. She is now doing everything she can to make a life for her and Maple, her daughter, but finds it’s a struggle to make ends meet. When Greyson reappears in her life, she isn’t sure what to think or expect as she carries her anger toward him for Marcus’s death. Will Greyson find a way to break through her walls? Fabulously sexy and quick romance that gives you that Alpha male to drool over with just a hint of suspense for an unexpected twist.

Wowzer! This story is so good! It grabs you and pulls you in, you feel the characters' pain and heartache, but then you also feel their happiness. Greyson is living with guilt from his time as a Navy SEAL and the last person he expects to see when he visits a 'club' is the widow of the man he feels the guilt over on stage staring back at him. Finley is willing to do almost anything to support herself and her child now that she is a widow and even though she isn't happy having to become a stripper, it pays the bills. I don't want to give anything away, because this book is a definite TBR book, but let me say that the heat is panty melting and there is suspense thrown in to make it even better. When this alpha male decides to take over and protect, you let him! Great story with great characters. Loved this!

Ex-Navy SEAL? Angst? Suspense? Hot, sexy scenes? Yup! This story had it all! This book is not going to make you ugly cry or leave you breathless, but it will make you fall in love with Greyson Archer! A man who has carried so much guilt with him after loosing one of his fellow SEALS, has finally found his salvation in the most unlikely of places, a strip joint! Who knew, right?! Finley is just trying to keep food on the table for her little girl. Left alone and broke, Finley finds herself prey to love and lust. Unfortunately, Grey isn't the only man with his eyes on the prize. Greyson and Finley's journey isn't always sweet, but it is worth the read!

I loved the idea of the characters. Finley being a widowed, single mom trying to raise her daughter the best way she knows how. Greyson being a man that has been in her life for a long time. A chance meeting that causes their paths to cross again. I loved the fact that Greyson was determined to be in their lives, although in the beginning it felt too much like he was trying to pay penance. I kinda wanted to hate Finley in the beginning. After getting more of the backstory, I understood her hesitance to have Greyson around so much. I absolutely loved Maple! I was so happy that the story ended the way it did.

Slow & Steady (Alphas Undone #2)
By Kendall Ryan
***** 5 Star Read
Turn up the AC!!! Sexy ex-Navy Seal, what’s not to love!!
Greyson, an ex-Navy Seal, lost his best friend Marcus on a dangerous mission. Grey was with Marcus until he took his lost breath, begging him to hold on so he can make it home to his beautiful pregnant wife, Finley. Grey never forgave himself for that day and the memory will forever haunt him; unimaginable guilt of what he could have done differently.
Finley is a widow and single mom living each day, trying to make ends meet after the death of her husband, becoming a stripper so she can still come home to her daughter Maple each night.
After a long excruciating day at work Greyson finds himself walking into a strip club to relax…… problem is, it wasn’t. Then a beautiful blonde with the perfect body and endless curves comes on stage. Greyson gets closer to the stage only to stop dead in his tracks, hands clenched tight at the site before him. Finley stands before him. His best friend’s widow confused as to why she is here half naked on stage, the last time he had seen her was at Marcus’s funeral, where she was punched him over and over in the chest, blaming him for the loss of her husband.
Finley never expected to see Greyson’s face again, and feel so many mixed emotions at once. Embarrassment, pride, hate, shame; this is not how she pictured her day going. Now the only thing she wanted was for Greyson to leave and stop looking at her like she was garbage. Doesn’t he understand this is her job and what she has to do to get by to care for Maple? It’s not her ideal job and she has to deal with one reoccurring customer that makes her uncomfortable.
Greyson feels nothing but shame after learning that Finley’s job is to take off her clothes for money so she can pay bills and take care of her daughter, he should have been there for her to help her. But how can he convince Finley to let him into her and her daughters’ lives because she holds him responsible for her husband, his best friend and partners’ death.
Can Grey forgive himself or more importantly can Finley forgive the man she holds responsible? The depth of emotion is sometimes too much to bear.
Kendall Ryan has, hands down, wrote an amazing story of love and loss. I highly recommend this book to so many readers, especially the readers who have experienced the loss of a husband. It will show you that it’s ok to move on and be happy again, to forgive and move forward. Some things in life happen without rhyme or reason. You are just at the wrong place at the wrong time. The emotions in this book are so high you cannot find words to describe them, the sex scenes will make you melt, the love that is shared will have you rooting for more. Slow & Steady is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone!

I was very interested in reading this book by the blurb alone. It was a bonus that it was written by one of my favorite authors. Kendall Ryan knows how to write a sexy alpha male.
Slow and Steady was hot, heartbreaking, and sweet. Greyson and Finely fit so well together despite their sad past they shared. They had some obstacles in their way, but they were able to heal from the past and find a future together.
I really liked this book and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I adore this book and the characters in it. Greyson is completely swoonworthy and Finley while frustrating at times is so admirable. She goes through so much and is so strong. The story is sweet and sexy and just as the title implies. The build up is excruciating in the best possible way. You can feel the tension and the chemistry between the characters. I could not put this book down. The only thing I would say about this book is I wanted more. I have loved everything I have read so far of Kendall Ryan's and I can't wait to read more.

Having read book one I was familiar with Greysons character and I was really shocked to learn who his love interest was in this book!
Finley and GREYSON are both broken souls and during the book it was clear that they were perfect for each other and their journey to healing each other's hearts.
Kendall Ryan is an exquisite storyteller and really draws the reader into the story and the lives of her characters and that's why she is an auto one click for me.

Kendall Ryan has written a novel that I was unable to put down until I was finished. Slow & Steady completely captivated me from the very beginning.
The cover is gorgeous and initially is what drew me into the story. Then after reading the synopsis, I knew I would have to read the entire novel.
Everything Kendall has written has made me favourites list, this book is definitely no different.
I highly recommend this novel! 5/5 Stars!

This was another great read by Kendall Ryan. I read some of her earlier books and was hooked on her writing. To me her writing continues to get more amazing with each book. I enjoyed the first book about Nolan so much and was so excited to see that Greyson got his story told. The story flowed well with some seriously steamy sex scenes and a HEA. I highly recommend this book and author.

She has done it again! Another Kendall Ryan book that I love! :)
There wasn't really a whole lot of character development, but there didn't really have to be, the characters knew each other prior to the start of this story. The pace of the book seemed to go very fast. Greyson is a super swoony alpha, and who doesn't love those? Finley is a strong willed woman, who keeps her heart guarded, but with good reason. Add an adorable toddler to the mix, and what's not to love?

Well written story and a great addition to the Alphas Undone series. Greyson and Finley have great chemistry and you can't put it done until you are finished with the book. You really feel for the strength in Finleys character as well as the guilt in Greyson's character. Loved reading about Greyson and Finley! I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Slow & Steady is a perfect title for this book. It described Greyson and Finley’s relationship to a T.
As always Kendall Ryan gave us an excellent storyline and characters who both melted my heart but also broke it at times too. This was a fairly quick read, but I didn’t feel like it was missing anything. This story touched on all of my emotions while reading it and when that happens, it makes it a 5 star read for me. I thought the pace and flow of the story was excellent. Even though the story takes place over a short period of time, it really didn’t feel rushed to me. I loved the pace she took Finley and Greyson at. Their relationship was one that needed to be nurtured….they had a lot to work out because of their connection to the same past.
Slow & Steady is the second book in Kendall’s Alphas Undone Series. This is a stand alone book and I believe it can be read that way. I don’t feel that if this is the first book you read in this series that you would be lost. We do see the other characters from the first book, but they don’t play a huge part in the storyline, and Kendall fills in the spots that might lead to questions.
In this book we follow the journey of Finley and Greyson. Finley is a single mom who is struggling to make a good life for her and her daughter Maple, since her husband was killed while in the service. What makes things hard for Finley is how her husband died. He was on a mission with his Navy SEAL commander and friend Greyson. So to say that Finley places a lot of blame on Greyson is an understatement. Greyson also has some severe guilt over his friends death and also blames himself. When he runs into Finley working at a local strip club, he is determined to help her and Maple. He is met with some serious resistance on behalf of Finley. Will these two ever get over the past and be able to look to a future together?? You will need to read this book to see how everything plays out. I will say that Kendall through in some shockers along the way with the storyline. There was one part I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest ;)
What I loved the most about this book was that it focused on the healing that Greyson and Finley needed to do and really didn’t focus on the sex we see in most books lately. Yes there are sex scenes in this book, but not until close to the end of the story. And to tell the truth I really didn’t miss it that much. I felt the connection to these two characters without having it turn physical. Like I said, I think they had so much to work out, that I was glad to see that sex didn’t play into the mix. I also enjoyed that even though Finley and Greyson weren’t being intimate during most of the book, they didn’t turn to others for comfort. That was refreshing to see!!
So if you are a fan of Kendall Ryan’s, you are going to want to 1-click this book and get to reading!!! I also think that if Kendall is a new author to you, this is a great book to start with. You get to see all the love and emotion that Kendall puts into her books.
Let me start by saying that book was anything but slow and steady! It was a whirlwind of a romance, that got my emotions going into overdrive! This is the first book I have read by Kendall Ryan and wow was it hot!!
A quick overview of the book – you have a got an ex-seal Grayson and a determined little lady Finley who both have a connected history and stumble upon each other after some time. Things get heated between the pair in more ways than one and with curve balls coming out of nowhere, you are certainly kept entertained and turning that page throughout.
For me it was quite a fast paced book, and as I'm usually a lover of a slow burner I was pleasantly surprised that I loved it! There is a lot of emotion throughout the book and it is not just in relation to the romance that is present throughout. The history that connects the two main characters is quite intense and your left feeling almost uncomfortable at times, which shows you how well the author has written this book! It is a dual point of view read, which again is a favourite of mine, as your able to see what is happening from both points of view which allows the imagination to run wild!
Kendall's writing is great, my imagination was in full force, playing everything out as I was reading. Im definitely going to be looking at what else this author has to offer and would recommend you do the same!

Slow and Steady was a beautiful and brilliant 5 start read that grabs your heart from the start and won't let go until the last word. Kendall is masterful writer of hot alpha males with soft hearts that will grab your soul.
Greyson is an ex Navy seal that lost his good friend on the battlefield. Marcus refused to let Grey go out alone to check out equipment in the field. That is the day that forever changed many people's lives. Greyson never thought that stopping at a strip club one evening would bring him face to face with Finley, Marcus's widow.
Finley has been through a lot as a widow and single mother. She also blames Greyson for the death of her husband. She never expected to feel the attraction to him that she does. The two of them have a chemistry that tops the charts.
Can they defy the odds of the cards stacked against them? Will Finley ever fully forgive Grey? I promise that this is one read the will pull you in from the beginning and won't let you put it down until you then the last page.

Such a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. Love heals indeed. So beautiful how it started with concern and feeling of obligation towards a dead comrade 's widow that blossomed into real passionate love. Ahhh love the characters, both Greyson and Finley and even sweet Maple so adorable. Thanks Kendall, goid story.

What I liked:
I liked the overall plot. I like the idea of a female lead making doing what needs done in order to support her family. I also liked how as soon as Greyson found out who Finley was supporting her family, he did everything he could to get her out of her touch situation, but never made her feel bad about it.
What I didn't like:
The pacing of the book didn't work for me. Sometimes a chapter would start and it would fast forward six weeks. Normally, I would be okay with this, but I felt like I was missing out on relationship building. Chapter after chapter, Finley is struggling with Greyson being a round. Then all of a sudden, its been six weeks and they are in love with each other. I just didn't feel the connection.
Like I said, this is a mixed bag review. I finished this book quickly and was truly interested in the story. BUT, a lot of times I found myself rolling my eyes or thinking "What? That doesn't make since!" With that being said, I don't think I will continue with the series, but I do want to read more from Kendall Ryan. She has some other books I'd like to read.
