But still enjoyable. I found Gianna to be immature and selfish, while Matteo was surprisingly a sweetheart, a short tempered one, but a sweetheart nonetheless. I enjoyed the two of them together, chemistry-wise but I felt there wasn't enough dialogue between the two. It had a mild insta love vibe and I just wanted to witness more growth of Gianna and Matteo's relationship. Overall the book was funny, sexy, sweet, oh and a little volatile. Lol I recommend it and am looking forward to the next.

When I first though of Gianna and Matteo' s relationship, I know it was gonna be something a kin to war. But love is with fighting for right. At times I found Gianna a bit too cold but that's true to her character. I loved that Luca and Aria were very much involved in the story. I also loved that while it was a love story it also allowed to into the world of the mafia a little which was entertaining. I've glad Gianna and Matteo got their story. I can't wait to read Liliana and Romero's story.

I was eagerly awaiting this book since the first book nd I must of played out the story 100 different ways in my head nd this was not what I expected but in a good way
Matteo is not the character that I thought he was based on the on what we get in the first book I felt that then he was cocky, immature, and cold and ruthless and even though

I absolutely love this series. Matteo and Gianna ended up being really good for each other. Gianna's pride almost ended up biting her in the a** but, I loved the way they found their way in the end. Can't wait for the next book.

Everything I wanted it to be. Matteo ended up being so swoon-worthy and honorable. He really loved Gianna from the start! This is the type of book that gives you butterflies while you read it. Great job Cora! Can't wait to read about Liliana and Romero!

I struggled with giving this a 3 or 4 star rating, folks. Mostly because of Gianna's whining and wishy-washy attitude towards Matteo at times. Sure, I understand why she wanted to break free from her violent, mob family type ties and live a normal life. But, I grew weary of her going on about how bored she'd be if she always lived outside that circle of chaos, as well. She seemed to want things both ways.

Matteo was one alpha protective, no one messes with me kind of made man, who was also OTT crazy with a knife towards anyone who disrespected his woman. Gianna seemed to be it for him, and he was extremely patient in putting up with her.

Luca was surprisingly a hateful jerk in this book. I had expected Aria's influence to have made him a better man by now.

At the end of the day though, I was glad to see Matteo completely win the heart of the woman he wanted. However, I didn't like how Gianna waffled a bit when in a life and death situation where she never, ever should have left Matteo's side.

Content: very graphic steamy/smexy scenes with lusty language, mob violence.

More story, less sex scenes. To much being in her head. She was annoying, kept thinking the same thing over and over. Really couldn't stand Luca in this book.

They never did anything together besides sex, I needed more.

Really, one of this men need to man up and kill daddy dearest. It is hard to like the men who stand by while he beats his young daughter. It just made me hate, all three, Luca, Dante and Matteo. How can you respect these men, when they stand by when some one beats a women.

I did give it three stars the first time but changed because really, hated them.

And really, who just went over things that happen the first time around. When I read a new book, I want new story's, not something I already read.

And something to stupid to believe. So her dad smacks her face twice, lots of blood, needed to stitch up her lip. She had stitches in her mouth for her split lips and no pain medication at all. But she was all hard kissing him, him punishing her mouth with his kisses just hours later. But it doesn't hurt her, really. But next day her mouth is all bruised and swollen from her busted lip but still no issue kissing.

If you have had stitches, it hurts, even with pain meds. You don't touch it, that whole thing was just to stupid to believe.

I'm aware Editors are expensive but surely the author would take the time to read through her own book before publishing it? I don't recall any problems with the first two books so she must have really rushed this one. It is littered with continuity errors.

I didn't particularly like this couple in the other books but while I came to like Matteo in this book, I still didn't care for Gianna. The author didn't do a very good job of convincing me that Gianna fell in love. This was rather rushed and not well thought out but aside from that, I found it really irritating to read due to all the errors of which:

1. When Gianna runs away she dyes her red hair brown and cuts it into a chin length bob. Six months later when Matteo finds her, he thinks to himself he doesn't like the colour but he's glad she never cut it? Her hair is then mentioned as skimming past her shoulders. Wow, her hair sure does grow quick in six months.

2. Gianna's father slaps her across the face and his ring catches her lip. Her and Matteo decide it needs stitches and it's already swollen. He stitches it for her. Then they marry the same night. She is in a sexy dress with her swollen, stictched lip yet once they say 'I do' he crushes his lips to hers when he kisses her. Wow that must have been painful with a stitched swollen lip?! Then he throws her on the bed in her sexy dress and next minute is unbuttoning her pants. Pants (trousers)? Where did the sexy dress go? Her stitched, swollen lip doesn't bother her at all, she even performs oral sex on him and next morning is drinking her hot cup of coffee without a problem! She's wonderwoman!

3. They have unprotected sex throughout the book and it's never mentioned by either of them. Yet Gianna never fell pregnant? In Aria's book, a big deal was made of her going on the pill.

4. The part towards the end that makes Gianna realise she loves Matteo was absolutely ridiculous. One minute a bullet grazes his head, there is blood everywhere. They crash when he's not wearing a seatbelt. He's losing blood, he's unconscious, he stops breathing. She drags him from the car and thinks about leaving him there and running away again. Oh but wait, she suddenly decides she loves him so she stays, gives him the kiss of life. Luca arrives decides Matteo is too ill for the Mafia doctors so must go to hospital. He rushes him to hospital where he wakes up, is fine and gets up and goes home. Aria later tells Gianna it was just a concussion and a few broken ribs. Wow, he's Superman.

I also disliked Luca in this book. He's very nasty towards Gianna and I found it odd that Aria didn't defend her sister more. I liked Matteo, he was lovely. Such a shame he drew the short straw with Gianna!

I'm not sure what the author was thinking to release the book in this state. It read like a debut author. Very amateurish. I'm very disappointed in it and hope when she releases the next book she spends sometime actually reading through it before publication.

Gianna Scuderi never wants to settle in the life of the Mafia. She would rather fight back and get hurt than accept her reality as a daughter of the Mob. When Matteo Vitiello see's Gianna giving attitude to everyone around her he takes it as a challenge and knows he has to be the one to tame her. Matteo asks Gianna's father to give her to him, which her father is all too happy to do. But Gianna isn't going to subject herself to a loveless marriage to a dangerous man - so she flees.

For six months Matteo doesn't give up looking for his runaway bride. When he finally finds her and brings her back to New York he locks her down and does everything in his power to keep her. But Gianna is stubborn and will fight 'till her last breathe to keep her independence. But as she's fighting to stay out of the life, she misses that there is more to Matteo than just being a Made Man.

Before I even explain why, let me just say Matteo is mine! I loved him and how closed off he was but at the same time he was so open. Yes, I know that doesn't make much sense, but it also kind of does. He was closed off and kept to himself but his actions - even the extremely brutal ones - showed that he really cared. Everyone thought that he was just pursuing Gianna because she was a challenge to him, but the way he went after anyone that even dared to hurt her showed that he cared more about her than just teaching her a lesson. I loved seeing the silent and deadly side to him just as much as seeing the vulnerable side to him that came out when he thought Gianna would run again.

Gianna was completely different than the other women stuck in the Mafia life. She was sassy and not afraid to throw some attitude around to guys twice her size. I really liked that she didn't just fall in line and start following her husband's rules and it made the story so much more interesting. When she started to fall for Matteo, a man she swore to herself she would never like, she had warring emotions swirling inside of her. I liked that we got to see her fighting her own feelings and trying to figure them out. I did start to get a little annoyed with her when she was being stubborn to the very end about her feelings toward Matteo, but it all worked out.

This is by far my favorite book of this series. The story was so different than the first two books because the characters were so unique. In the first books it was a Made Man bad boy with a soft side and a wife who just accepted the hardened life of the Mafia. But with this one, Matteo was bad and tough and the sweet side to him was nonexistent. Gianna never accepted just sitting back and doing what she was told and wouldn't just accept her fate like her sister, Aria did.

Bottom line, I loved Matteo of Gianna together and their story was perfect. The love/hate relationship was amazing and so intriguing that I couldn't put this book down. This will definitely be a book that gets re-read many times.

This review contains spoilers if you haven't read the previous books.

Wow, okay here goes... I wanted to love this book. I wanted to love every single moment of it. Gianna and Matteo have been teasing me since Bound by Honor and I almost skipped Bound by Duty to read it but I thought patience is a virtue.

Maybe I should have skipped this one all along. The previous 2 books had very little issues and tiny plot holes that I ignored and instead focused on the bigger picture, a story has to be very captivating for me to do that and it was, so far. Bound by Hatred was not what I was preparing myself for. The writing was poor compared to the other two and it had an amateur feeling.

Gianna was the one who voiced her issues with the whole arranged wedding her father had planned for all of his daughter and she was right, but they way she went about it the entire time was wrong. She acted like a child and all that got her was slap after slap from her father, this whole book made me feel weird, after a while I just wanted the madness to stop.

During Bound by Duty Gianna ran away before her wedding day and Matteo of course went after her. The whole time Gianna was away can only be described as a disaster. She accomplished nothing by running away and the whole thing just felt off. All of the characters felt off. Aria actually helped her, even though she should have known what that would cause. The previous books make such huge deals with the wedding and their virginity and the family's honor and name, that Aria of all people should have talked some sense into her or helped her in a way that would not get her into trouble when they eventually got her back, because of course they would find her.

Matteo was the only good thing about this book. Even Luca treated her like dirt, sure Gianna acts like a child throughout the book, especially since Matteo has been nothing but honest and kind of in love with her since book 1. Overall, it didn't feel like a continuation of the series, more like a rushed version of it trying to do something different and shocking, it didn't work.

Bound by Hatred absolutely did not disappoint! I went into it knowing some of the background from the first two books, but I also knew that I would love this one the most. And, guess what?!? I did! Not only do I love the hot mafia alpha bad boy, but also the way that killer so quickly turns into the snarky, funny and somewhat sensitive guy. Matteo was a fantastic character and one that kept me intrigued with their story until this third book. "I had no intention of doing something stupid, except for having a quickie with my wife to lift her spirits. What was wrong with that?" See? His one liners and quick wit really did it for me.

I also loved Gianna. She was so headstrong and defiant, which was only the product of her upbringing, but also an emotional girl who desperately wanted what all little girls want - a happily ever after with her very own prince charming. What she got in Matteo was slightly different, but I don't think that these characters could be more right for one another.

My only wish was that we got to see more of their happiness and desire in their marriage. But, I am hopeful that we will get a lot more of them in the next book, Bound by Temptation. Well done again, Ms. Reilly!

Having loved the previous two books in this series I couldn't wait to start this one and it started well covering the major events from the previous books which involved Gianna and Matteo so we get their full story in this book.
I'd liked Gianna in 'Honor' and 'Duty' and I liked her at the start of this book, I understood why she wanted to escape her life but as it turned out she was the main reason I didn't enjoy this book as much, she just got on my nerves, Matteo however I loved and I felt a bit sorry for him at times.
In 'Honor' we got to see a softer side to Luca as his relationship with Aria developed but in this book we get a glimpse of him as the Capo.

Finally, Matteo and Gianna's love story and it was so worth the wait! I can't wait to read more from this series and from Cora Reilly! Matteo is one determined man with a lot of patience! I loved how he refused to give up, and turn his back on Gianna like everyone else thought he should! I am excited to see what Bound by Temptation has in store for us!

I enjoyed this book. Gianna was not spoiled in my opinion. She was a young girl who just wanted the freedom to make her own choices and by the end of the book she did just that. I do wish that she would have revealed her innocence but then that wouldn't have fit either with her character. I dislike stepmommy dearest and hope she gets what's coming. Looking forward to Lilliana and Romero. Thank you for the great book as always.
