Joanne Fluke is on of my favorite writers. I love this series and have purchased every one in the series....and that's A LOT!!! Very funny, easy read when you just want to be entertained.

I especially love the fact that you get recipes in each book. I am a baker and love to try new recipes.

I am now purchasing each book of this series. This is a light, delightful and interesting read. I am picturing Alyson Sweeney as the main character, Hannah, since I hear she is doing this movie for Hallmark. What fun! Allyson is gorgeous and though Hannah is not described that way, Allyson can do it! Hannah is a likable heroine her family and friends interesting. The town charming. One immediately feels at home and connected to the characters. I love how the characters are taken along from one book to the next. Love the recipes. Look forward to the next book as I finish each one.

Pretty engaging story. I liked it as a summer read. Not sure I'll continue with the series, though. The writing seems contrived here and there (too many adjectives) and the plot like had some highly unlikely twists and turns in there. But as I said, nice summer read.

I enjoy 'cozy' mysteries as a change from the more common violent murder/suspense/thriller style mysteries. I've read some very good cozies and some very bad cozies. Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder is definitely on the 'good' side, though not necessarily one of the best I've read. I enjoyed getting to know the protagonist, Hannah, and I took particular delight in the author's care to give her a rationale for her detective work. I feel that, too often, amaateur sleuths just seem to take it upon themselves to do the investigative work and expect the real detectives to be grateful for the interference! I can't say that Hannah's rationale is entirely plausible, but in a small town, it may be much more plausible than I realize, being a city girl. I would definitely read more on the further adventures of Hannah Swensen. Recommended!

Note on Kindle formatting: Pretty good, but there are a few oddities. About once every chapter, the last word in a sentence appears in superscript. There are also a few instances of incorrect hyphenation (word in the middle of the page is hyphenated, as if it was split between two lines, though it isn't). Neither of those issues really impacts readability, but the superscript one IS disconcerting, although it doesn't occur with any regularity.

"Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder" is about a baker in Minnesota who owns a cookie shop in her town. One day, she finds the dairy delivery man shot at the back of her shop.
I wouldn't say that this is the best of Joanne Fluke's creations, but it is a good first start. It isn't scary like most murder stories, and I personally found it a little funny, especially when Fluke mentioned the main character's cat. "Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder" is an impressive book.

A fun mystery. I usually like dark, psychological Scandinavian mysteries but this was just so clever. Light but not fluff. Really love the protagonist . Clever plot. And, cannot leave out how great the recipes sound

Book appropriate for all. Clean fun and great cookie recipes. Characters show respect for each other. Plot is interesting with many leads to who done it. Easy flowing read in a down home environment with additional references to literature and/or customs.

The book started out interesting and held me till the end. It was a little slow moving in the middle and I predicted the villain before the end. It was still a cute book and it was nice that I could walk away when necessary. I look forward to reading the rest of her books and trying out all the recipes that they contain.

I enjoy the Fluke books for the light hearted adventure. It is a nice break after some of the heavier books I read. I can just relax, try to solve the mystery and enjoy the recipes. Plus this book had a bonus of 2 more short stories in it which were also very enjoyable and stayed with the Candy Cane theme.

This is the first Hannah Swenson mystery I've read and it was good. Was it great? No, but I do recommend it. I like Hannah, the main character and the other characters that include family and friends in her small hometown. The story took awhile to get going, I was getting bogged down with too many details. About half way thru the pace picked up and it became a book I couldn't put down. At times the situations seem a little far-fetched but it was an enjoyable book overall and I will definitely read the next one!

This story was great to see where Hannah started into sleuth cookie maker. I started by reading the devils food cupcake murder which got me interested in this series and have read others but it was great to read the beginning.

Lately I've been into mysteries and this was recommended to me. I'd seen the series many times at the library and other bookstores but I finally decided to buy #1 for a great price. I enjoyed it! I had NO idea who the murderer was. I kept guessing at people and I was wrong every single time! :) I'm already reading the second book in the series. I highly recommend it!

This is an interesting story about a small town murder mystery. The heroine owns a cookie shop, and uses her cookies to bribe her ay into suspects homes, and to get information. As a bonus there are some very tasty cookie recipes included. I have made the sugar cookies, and they were a hit!

Interesting take on the murder-mystery storyline. While the basis of the story isn't truly believeable (business woman being asked to help with an investigation on her own) it does provide for some entertaining reading. I also like that the items in the bakery and mostly featured in the included recipes. Though I've not tried any of the recipes yet, I'm sure I will at some point. I will however be finding and reading the next book in the series, a little guilty pleasure.

I found the book very well written and the storyline very easy to follow. It kept my interest until the very end and was fooled as to who the murderer was. I would highly recommend this book and look forward to reading others by this author.

I stumbled upon this series by accident while shopping on the store. I have since downloaded and read every book available on my kindle. Not only are the mysteries easy reads and fun loving but she has started a baking frenzy at my house like never before. Her recipes are all fabulous!!!!

I enjoyed the story of the very fun and interesting character, Hannah and the rest of the townspeople in the small MN town. The author tells a great story through vivid details which keeps you turning the pages. This book not only contained the first mystery of the series, but some great recipes. As a bonus there is also a short story included. The format of the short story is not a mystery, but is a fast paced good read.

Great book!!

This is my first introduction to the Hanna Swenson series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wanted to start at the beginning so now I'll be onto #2. It's nice that the author includes recipes for all of her cookies throughout the book. They all sound delish.

Truly enjoyed each and ever one of these stories. I read the individual author stories as they come out, so I knew I would l like it. I had never read Laura Levine, but now she is marked on my favorites. She is so funny. I highly recommend this product.

I decided to read the book after seeing the movie on Hallmark. There are certainly differences between the two but it is quick and fun read full of recipes and characters that I do believe would be found in a small Minnesota town.
