I love JE Rain's Samantha Moon series so thought I would read something else he wrote. I could not put it down. He writes so well and draws you into the characters so that you feel like you know them, and fall in love with them a little. Please read this fantastic story...you won't regret it.

This book follows a former detective who was injured on the job. Lee Jordan was a detective gravely injured on the job. He is now deaf, blind, & mute. The police need his expertise in a BIG CASE. He has a service dog he has never seen. LAPD need him for this big case no-one can solve. Part of this book is very mystical. It is called "Winter Wind". Very enjoyable reading.

I was fascinated by the main character's ability to adapt to his physical limitations and intrigued by the "winter wind" concept... I didn't think it was far-fetched, as I'm sure many people would, so I found it very interesting. And, of course, I loved his canine companion Betsie!

J.R. Rain has done it again! A new book and new characters. The twists and turns are fantastic. He keeps you wanting to read to the very end no matter where you are or what time it is. Another book to add to my favorite list and will go back to read again and again. I truly hope there is a second, third, fourth, etc book.

Absolutely LOVED IT!!! I am a fan of JR Rain and have read all of his books. This one is one of his best. We are introduced to a new character, Lee. He is blind and deaf. JR is able to take me into Lees world and "see" things as he does. This is a great mystery story and I was hooked from the first page. I hope we get more of Lee in the future. Highly recommended.

I've only have come across a few books that have made an impact on me , this novel definitely being one of them.
I read this amazing story in one sitting and was completely moved. By no means in a sappy way, just believe me it will touch you in a way that it is supposed to.
An amazing novel, job well done.

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this book. I loved it. It was hard to put down. I couldn't imagine what life would be like after an accident such as this. I think Lee showed incredible perseverance in life and was given a second chance to prove his worth. I would recommend this book to all.

This was a very good book. My husband became legally blind about 5 years ago and this book gave me a little insight as to what he experiences. There is plenty of mystery, action, and suspense to keep you interested. I really enjoyed reading it.

JR somehow managed to make this book work! I wondered how on earth a book with a blind, deaf and mute detective would be. He didn't disappoint! I was fortunate enough to receive a copy to review. Without giving away spoilers... This book is one you won't want to put down. He manages to make this concept work very well.

Lee Jordan character can't see, hear or talk. But has a incredible dog named Betsie. But they do more than any seeing, hearing or talking LA detectives. Very interesting and sometime horror mixed with humor. Author with incredible vocabulary, learned couple new words.

This book surprised me. I thought it was a thriller. The more I read, I was fifty, fifty with it. Maybe then enlightened as I "felt" as good as I could, what being blind, not able to hear nor speak did to this man. We know our other parts become stronger, or have been told but all he has left is his mind! Is it GOD? Is he going mad? How can he see? Read this book, amazing!

A really fascinating book. I am so glad to have a new author's work to follow. This has to be one of the most interesting character's that I have ever read. I hope this becomes a series. Kudos to the author!

I was caught up in how the author created the environment where I understood how disconnected the main character was from the world without encouraging me to feel sorry for him--just deeply connected to his situation. Bravo!

As the parent of a congenitally deaf-blind son, I was interested in the story of a blinded and deafened man and how he was coping with his environment. The author was able to put himself into that situation and gave some good insights. I was disappointed, however, that the author had to cheat considerably to let the man solve the mystery.

Very slow read, down right boring. . .I didn't even finish the book, it couldn't keep my interest. The author droned on and on with long winded empty details that didn't build or hold my interest or enhance the story.

Incredible story. At first, empathy and sadness for what these character has endured. No sight, no hearing, and definitely no talking.
But he makes it work later on.
I really enjoyed this storyline and the characters. Kudos to the author for writing this book. It would be really g good if there was a sequel???

I've just finished my ARC and want to say one thing....Your ability to transport your readers into a world only known by few extraordinary people is astounding, JR. This book is by far the absolute BEST you have written to date. You have definitely outdone yourself with this one, and I am honoured to be a "fan" of yours and to get an ARC for this one.
Now THIS is a book I would LOVE to see made into a film!
Congratulations, JR, I loved it and couldn't put it down. xx

Who could ever imagine what it is to be blind, deaf and mute after having all of those senses ripped explosively away? JR Rain. Wow, an expletive I rarely if ever use. Spell binding and engrossing in its narrative - I hope, I hope, I hope to read more about Lee in the future. Detecting just got even more interesting!

I felt the first chapter in ways I never have in a fiction book before. I feel I know more about the blind than I did before. The author includes a fantasy in this story. I did figure out what was going on, and then fully when another missing man is added. A gripping tale in many ways.

Another great book by JR Rain, well written, you get captured right away by the story, and it's very difficult, if not impossible to put it away once you start reading ... Great plot, lovely characters, and I certainly hope we hear more about Lee and the rest ...

Fascinating book -- lot's of challenges, both with Lee, his many handicaps, and the believability of the way he travels forward in healing, both physically and mentally. Though blind, he learns to "see." Though deaf, he gains the ability to
"feel" vibrations/energy that are there for us all. Meditation and mind control are gifts that come to him, his many restrictions are a benefit which allow that to happen.

oh wow wow wow!!!.. the most wonderful book of all of the previous or future JR Rain books.. In my MOST unhumble opinion

Being a student of The Secret and Abraham-Hicks, to see their perceptions in a semi-fictional book was wonderful. I wondered how a deaf, blind and mute man could solve murders, then came the Winter Wind.. bringing what we all can do to light.. no puns intended..

a most wonderful and uplifting book. i recommend it to all.. and yeah, it's NOT all fiction. We just have to get our minds educated so that we can Truly SEE all there is to see.

A MOST wonderful book, JR.. and as always, WRITE ON!
