I was eagerly looking forward to this book for two reasons:

1) I'm not quite ready for this series to end, and
2) Michael was the perfect mix of sad, sexy and mysterious in "For the Love of Luca".

I must say I enjoyed this book. A pastry chef falling head over heels for a mafioso was quite the intriguing plot line. I couldn't put it down! There was no doubt about their attraction or chemistry. Brielle's calm, steady and innocent personality was a perfect foil for Michael's tortured soul. I really enjoyed the suspense in this book. It moved fast and there were so many suspects to choose from.

Again, this mafia family thrills me with how loyal and protective they are of their own. The reader is never in doubt about the amount of love that they have for each other.

I really hope that there's more to come from this bunch in the future.

The writing is good, the author definitely has potential for story telling. The plot though, fell flat for me. The build up with more drama just completely ruined it for me. I didn't make it to the epilogue. I was too frustrated to give a damn if they had an HEA or not!
I shouldn't have even tried to read it knowing that he was grieving over his ex.
I didn't enjoy this, but would definitely try another from this author. I just hope the next has more romance and a little less drama.

Book 9 in the Chicago Syndicate Book series, but it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the other book in the series, but was able to follow the story. i will be checking out the other stories though. This book is told from a duet POV. You see the events from both sides

Michael was a bit of a tortured soul. Still dealing with the loss of his fiance and his strong feelings for Brielle. he is a bit of a mess and not always the nicest guy, but he is not a bad person at heart.

Brielle, was sweet, strong, funny and also lonely. I loved how she was taken in by everyone at the restaurant. I loved how she stood up against Michael.

And not the mention the book made me hungry for dessert, so you better read it with something delicious next to you.

Not gonna lie, I was really looking forward to this book. I knew the loss that Michael had suffered, the guilt he was burdened with, the grief he was being weighed down by, and I wanted to see how he would come through it all. Once the boss of New York, he'd taken a lesser role for the Chicago Syndicate under his best friend Adriano while he took the time to get his ish together.

Brielle was a young woman from New York who seemed to be all alone in the world. After graduating from culinary school, she figured Chicago would offer her a new start. She landed a great gig at the Palermo, a syndicate-run restaurant, and her life was looking up. She was making some great connections, lasting friendships, and maybe had a fledgling relationship with the tall, dark and mysterious man known as Michael.

Again, I was really excited to read this story, but for some reason, one I can't quite put my finger on, it didn't work for me. I wasn't feeling the characters. They lacked the depth I'm used to from this author. I'm constantly raving about this series and I've given the previous books 5 stars like crazy, but this book fell well below my expectations. I didn't feel the connection between Michael and Brielle and it constantly felt like their interactions were forced. Brielle annoyed me with her nosiness that went beyond her job description and the fact that she kept looking for something from Michael when he wasn't really offering anything at first really bothered me.

I still love this author and I'm still a huge fan of this series. And I still recommend that everyone who loves truly amazing anti-heroes and stories involving organized crime to add these books to their to-read lists. The Chicago Syndicate bad boys will certainly win your hearts as they've won mine! ???

Intense, explosive and exciting, this mafia romance was definitely worth the read!
A Cartel boss and a pastry chef! Who knew this combination could be so sinfully delicious!
I had not read the prior books in this series and I was totally able to enjoy and follow the story without any problems.
Michael and Brielle’s story was full of twists, turns and sexy hotness. The chemistry and banter between was sharp and on point. Michael is searching for revenge and redemption as he gets caught up in a world full of betrayal and jealousy.
Brielle gives him more than he ever bargained for!

I really liked this mafia read. Michael is still in pain over the death of his fiancé but there is something about Brielle that has him asking questions. Brielle knows there is something weird about the place she works but will she figure it out and can Michael keep her out of danger? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and suspense. I Loved the chemistry and the Michael and Brielle are amazing together. A good read.

Interesting, intriguing, and sexy. It kept me wanting to know more about the mysterious man every time he showed up. Without having read any of the other books in the series, I didn't feel lost. Can be read as a stand alone book.

Wow! This is a slam dunk for Soraya Naomi with this hot as hell dark romance book! This dark and suspenseful Mafia romance was astoundingly good! This was an awesome book packed with murder, mystery, danger, darkness, drama, suspense, passion and sex, sex—did I say SEX that is off-the-chart hot! This story is captivating, entertaining, and intriguing which also makes it very interesting and compelling to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. This book was impossible to put down, and it will have you on the edge of your seat to find out what happened next. This is the first time I read a book by Soraya, but I assure you, it will not be the last. Soraya Naomi manages to weave grippingly dark and twisted plots with artfully developed main characters. Soraya did it with this dark romance by effortlessly transporting me to the turbulent and violent life of Michael Carrion, ex-Mafia boss of New York Mafia. Michael Carrion is so freaking SEXXY and HOT!! Pure pleasure. Dirty. Decant—sums up Michael and Brielle’s relationship quite succinctly. Michael moved to Chicago because he was grieving over his fiancée, who was killed in NYC. When Michael meets Brielle Duchenne, who was hired as the pastry chef of Palermo—owned by the Chicago Syndicate—Michael thinks she might be a possible link to his former life in NYC. Was she? Were Michael and Brielle bought together by fate? Will Brielle find out that Michael works for the Chicago Syndicate? What will Brielle do if she finds out that the place she works is a cover for the Mafia? Wait until you read what happens with Michael and Brielle—you will be astonished. This story is bloody, vicious, and enemies lurk waiting for a chance to strike and exploit any weakness. Michael and Brielle are drawn together like the proverbial moth to the flame and their chemistry is sultry. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next while the strong charismatic characters draw readers in and refuse to let go. The story will also pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end. This is a definite MUST READ!

Briella is a pastry chef . Michael is security for the restaurant he is trying to keep the restaurant separate from the Chicago syndicate . He is also looking for a spy and wonders if Briella is one or what her ulterior motive. Briella is suspicious of Michael. there is also a lot of chemistry between the two of them , but with his fiancé death he has to wonder about Briella and if she is tough enough to survive the Chicago syndicate. I loved this story and quickly read it . This is a gunfighting and a spy with romance with a lot of action and we get to see all our friends from other books

This was my first book in the Chicago Syndicate series and my first book from the author. Let me tell you that I loved it!

Brielle is the new pastry chef in Palermo, a high-end Italian restaurant. Michael is the Security Director for Palermo. What Brielle doesn't know is that Palermo is truly a front for the Chicago Syndicate, a drug-dealing crime organization. They meet each other when one night Michael forgets his gun in the kitchen and Brielle finds it. Michael is closed of and cold towards her, since he lost his fiancée four months ago in a business gone bad. Now seeing Brielle, he's suspicious of her since she has something in common with his late fiancée. While trying to figure out is she really is who she says she is, they form a connection and start to know each other. However, Michael is broody and his mood changes faster than he eats Brielle's desserts :-P

Their chemistry is palpable through the book; I actually felt it. Michael is a tormented man and he feels guilty for what happened with his fiancée. Brielle had her fair share of loss and can relate to him and want to help him, he just don't let her. He is constantly cold and hot and it's so frustrating. Michael makes many mistakes and the bigger one is that he doesn't tell her the truth about Palermo. However, the truth always comes out and this one will find Brielle in a bad place.

The book is full of twists and turns. Brielle and Michael's connection is sizzling hot and their chemistry is off the charts. I constantly felt suspicious of everyone, since they were looking for a spy in the book. I really like the secondary characters and I'm so excited that they have their own books; I can't wait to read those! The book ended beautifully and gave Brielle and Michael the ending they deserve! I hope that in the future we will see more of these couples!

I have loved this series from the beginning as we get more in depth stories on all the characters. This book is about Michael the new and mysterious man from NYC that is now the head of Security at the syndicate's restaurant and front. Also we have the beautiful Brielle who is the pastry chef and Michael's main obsession finding out what she truly wants and how she is related to his dead fiancée. I loved this story and it was great seeing favorite characters from previous books. This book is full of danger, heat, love, misunderstandings and ultimately family. I loved every word. Highly recommend this book and series.

This book needs way more than just five stars!!!! The whole series does. You do not have to read the whole series before you read this book but it will definitely up your enjoyment of it. The Man in Black is another great story of a mob guy that thinks he can keep his emotions turned off and then meeting the woman that makes him realize he was full of crap LOL. I love this entire series and have turned into a serious fan of this author and can't wait for more and more from her.

Another really good, well written, page turner. This book has it all! Sex, romance, intrigue, and a touch of danger, all wrapped up in a HEA.
Micheal and Brielle worked well together and the love wasn’t instant, but they definitely had an unbreakable connection that was very apparent in the writing. I loved how possessive and protective Michael was of Brielle. I loved this book, and I cannot wait for more of this series!

This book was a hugely anticipated book for me, and it didn't disappoint. Michael was every bit the mysterious, brooding, Man in Black I was hoping for. After a precarious situation nearly exposes him, it also brings attention to the fact that Brielle might not be who she says. Investigating her brings them closer than either expect. Will the secrets between them be too much to overcome?
This book is great as a standalone, but I loved it more having read the series also. I was so excited Michael's character was every bit it was built up to be. I love this series, and this book was one of my favorites. Brielle was a great character, strong and mature, even in her young age. She was smart and interesting, and I loved her and Michael's strong chemistry together. Loved this book!!!

WOW,WOW. I normally not to fond of mafia stories, but I love this one. It was well written, a unique storyline and characters that you can't help like and root for. It's full of emotions, action, kidnapping, attempted murder, friendship, but most of all it had love, which came out in every scene you read. It was about two a lonely people, who found each other, after a tragic event in their lives, that had them so depressed that they couldn't deal with everyday living and with their love for each other, pulled them out of their slump and learn to love again.
I am volunteering to leave a review for a ARC of this book.

4 terrific stars!! This book had so much depth and character!!

This is a stand alone book from the “Chicago Syndicate World” series. This was my first book of the series and I wasn’t disappointed or feel lost at all.

This is a story of a mafia kingpin and an innocent yet fiery pastry chef that have something in common....something quite huge.

Michael has hid his demons and just wants to go through the motions of life until some sassy pastry chef decides to worm her way into his head....

Brielle finally got a kick butt job and low and behold there is a dark and broody security guy there that she can’t keep her eyes off of.

This book was so real to me. Like I feel like the dialogue felt real not too perfect and fake. There was a lot of repeating and quite a bit I think could have been cut to give more of a smooth flow, but I loved this story. These two so perfect in their own ways. This is a mafia love story with plenty of twists and turns. This is a series I think everyone should give a try!

Wow, I just keep falling more in love with Soraya Naomi’s Syndicate World. Now it’s Michaels turn, the “Man in Black”. He’s dark & moody, trying to deal with the loss (and guilt) of his fiancé. His world is dark, until he meets a bit a light in Palermo’s pastry chef Brielle. She’s young, innocent, sweet & feisty. Hard as he tries (and oh boy does he!), he can’t resist her. There’s love, danger, and so much going on. But you sit on the edge of your seat through each chapter, not wanting to put it down. Truly this world is enchanting. I can’t say enough about it. All I can say is, make sure you read it. You’re going to love it!!!

This is a fantastic read for anyone who likes dark, broody men with an attitude. Brielle balances the story out nicely - being just nice and innocent enough to make it work whilst remaining believable. Incredible Chemistry between the pair of them - add a huge dose of suspense and you've got a brilliant book to read.

Michael popped my Soraya Naomi's cherry and he done it with a vengence!
First of all, i made a mistake that any reader should have done with any book. I judge a book by its cover. With this book, i judge a book by its genre.
Said its a mafia romance, so i assume it would be dark full of blood al capone style with lots and lots of explicit sex scene.
Well...i was wrong and have no shame admite it.
Soraya Naomi give me more with her The Man In Black, Chicago Syndicate series.
It got more angst. It got more feelings.
Michael is ...complicated. He is that kinda brooding alpha with delicate heart and tortured soul. I love this kinda hero in my book. He is that bad man you momma warn to stay out but you just can't help your self to give your heart, soul and panties...i mean love! Love! Yup, definitly love!
And Brielle. Ehmm this girl...first of all i love cake. I love sweets. So she is my perfect hero! And because she's just sweet and brave in one package.
I love how Michael have to strugle after what he loose. I love his inner battle while as a mafia he have to stone hard. I love how he become a man who would do anything to protect his love one. Although in one particular scene after one very hot scene, i really love to throw a chair toward Michael for his stupidity.
And i love how Brielle stand for her self. Love how she can fall for Michael bravely. Love how her strenght let Michael be vulnerable with his feelings.
Eeeep i'm excited to read more from this author!

Michael and Brielle's story is great. Michael being handed a blow moves to Chicago and does not see Brielle coming. Trying to get over some stuff in his past, this story has some twists and turns to get you to the end......so worth the read.

Voluntarily leaving my honest review. Always willing to recommend a good Mob book......

Sometimes authors stretch a series that started out well and when they do that they also ruin the good books because then you end up not liking the whole series. I remember reading the Fallon book and falling in love. Well with this book I’m all out of love, and very disappointed.
