The book itself is three to four stars (especially if you're a fan of the Dark Tower series); however, the Kindle version is littered with spelling and grammatical errors that are not present in the print version. If you want an aggravation-free read, go with the print version.

Typical Stephen King. He delivers believeable characters with lives and personalities. And as usual, no matter how big the book, you are sad to see them go. I have read all his books new as they came out over the years, and as i go back and reread these stories, i see a surprisingly amount of references to his greatest work of all, (after the Shining,) The Gunslinger books. There were multiple referecces in this book as well. Keep writing my friend!
a faithful reader.......

I love Stephen's books. I started reading them when I was a teenager with Carrie. I'm 55 years old now and he is my favorite writer y far. I love the long books with characters you love or hate so Insomnia was great. I'm always sad when I'm done reading one of his books. I wish he would find more stories to tell with the characters from the Tower series. I've read Insomnia 3 times over the years.
(Discworld Novel 38) (Discworld series) - I Shall Wear Midnight :: Speakeasy (True North Book 5) :: Boy Toy :: The Understatement of the Year (Ivy Years #3) (The Ivy Years) :: Love on a Summer Night (Pine Harbour Book 4)

This book is my all time favorite of Stephen King's work. I don't understand why it was never made into a movie. Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. I stayed up all night to finish it. I'd like to know which of his other books are comparable to this. I don't like his out and out horror--but I love this kind of work!

You'll love the characters and immensely enjoy the story. Insomnia is one of Stephen King's BEST! With it's many references to the Dark Tower and it's characters it draws you in like no one else but Stephen King can. It's 900 pages fly by as you wish this tale would never end. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will totally immerse you into the world of Ralph Roberts, as well as other plains of existence or levels of the Tower.
In the Dark Tower 8, Roland is given a copy of Insomnia signed by Stephen King and is told about it's references to the Dark Tower series, but he leaves the book behind. After reading all books of the Dark Tower series I knew that I had to read Insomnia and very glad that I did. I would highly recommend that you read Insomnia as I'm sure you will enjoy this thrilling and heart warming novel by the greatest writer of our time.

This novel is exactly what every Stephen King fan needs. It is a perfect escape into another time and place, with some of the most endearing main characters. King also uses this book to reference many of his other popular stories and characters, which I found to be enlightening and exciting.

This book will require patience from the reader. It starts to get good after the first 150 pages. While it is not very scary, it does have interesting lessons on the subjects of death, dying, and getting old. I loved it. After finishing the book, I even started to miss the main characters, which is rare for me.

I know, people may say that there are better King books. Even King himself does not appreciate it too much. Still, I liked this book and read it at least 3-4 times during the past 10 years. I read it in English, in Finnish and in Russian. And enjoyed every moment. As another reviewer said - it's very psychodelic. I can suggest you a test: if you liked "It" than you will like "Insomnia" - they are very close in mood.

Dear Stephen King…

Another bright and shining novel to help me through the pain and long hours of my own insomnia…

Like you, I was dreadfully injured in an accident. Unfortunately my pain continues, unrelenting.

My time is spent reading and re reading the words you have left me. The characters who are brave and strong, amidst terrifying times and choices. I can only hope that I can emulate them and keep hope alive through my time.

Thank you…

Good read. Kept my interest. A little bogged down
with auras, though author explains them thoroughly.
Sounds like episode was very real, as some of us at
one time or another experience those symptoms.
Was surprised by number of typos on Kindle version.
Now I know who the sleep barons are...
